I love musou but I don't think I can get into this.

Part of what makes the badass and serious/dramatic moments in the show so good is the stark contrast and mood whiplash with the comedy. Making an action game out of it feels like it's just losing a big part of what makes the action in Gintama unique and impactful.

It'd be like trying to turn a Jackie Chan movie into some generic edgy fighting game.

I mean its got its comedy parts included. Or are you saying that turning into a pair of glasses or having pachinko just show up out of nowhere during serious moments in the heat of battle causing weird shit to happen wouldn't fit as comedy.

I think it's just the overexposure of the game being nothing but fighting. I think Gintama would work better as an RPG or a multi-genre satire of different kinds of games, but that stuff probably takes more effort and money than a H&S so I can understand why they went with this.
