Does Red & Blue deserve to be reimagined with Switch technology?
Does Red & Blue deserve to be reimagined with Switch technology?
Yes, but with a different story.
>Different story
It barely had one. Why not expand upon it?
Yes, but without the new goofy looking design
What do you mean?
post gen3 artstyle
I agree. They should return to the visual aesthetics of Gen 1 and 2. Watercolor in 3D would look dope.
Is this supposed to be a reference of something?
Perhaps.
I'd like a Pokemon game that has the similar tone to the manga. Which many of the developers admit is the closest to the original vision of the game world they wanted to go for.
Gen 5 almost got it but fell into the trap of the shitty gen 3 and onwards "but though must save the world!" instead of just being a Monster collector is a world full of wonderful monsters
>I'd like a Pokemon game that has the similar tone to the manga
This, honestly. If they remade Gen 1, I would want them to take influences from the Indigo League anime and the Adventures Red and Yellow chapters.
bump
bump
That was promo art only.
Imagine what being squeezed by arbok like that would feel like haha
>I'd like a Pokemon game that has the similar tone to the manga.
You mean edgy fanfic? There are tons of romhacks that fulfil your desires, with satanist Darkrai cults and similar dumb edgy shit.
No it wasn't. All art during Gen 1 and the majority of 2 was watercolor.
>dude the manga is edgy XD
No it ain't, it is a fucking adventure. Just because bad things sometimes happen in a dangerous situation doesn't mean it is edgy. The tone is still very lighthearted.
That is the problem I have with the games, it feels like a series of themepark rides then an actual adventure
This so much. They even kinda nailed that feeling in the Origins mini-series
>That is the problem I have with the games, it feels like a series of themepark rides then an actual adventure
this
Yeah but it needs ultra dimensional aliens that look nothing like pokemon and add nothing to the game. Seriously fuck ultra beasts
Seeing as they made this ten times worse in the recent games I think were moving in the opposite direction or what you want.
That.
Main problem is that nothing really happens anywhere. There aren't really any stories or events, probably because towns and routes are too small for such a thing. You sweep into a town, beat the gym and onto the next.
You don't revisit towns storywise either unless that's where the Evil team are doing their thing after gym#7.
For all the shit Delta episode got, its a taste of what would be nice to have.
>Elite4 and gym leaders are evil
>Lance blows up a town
>numerous deaths (some of them gruesome)
Whatever you say
he literally just wrote "bad things happen", are those not bad things?
that doesnt change the lighthearted tone of the manga. I feel like you didnt read it.
I would love if they made the Switch games set in Kanto and made regional variants of some of the more popular 1st gen monster with models that closely resemble their old sugi art like this actually
You can't sweep edgy elements like these under the rug by just calling them "bad things". Part of a fucking town was blown up which was totally uncalled for.
I've read Red and Yellow manga. The latter is NOT lighthearted.
One of 3 things is comeing to switchit will be gen 8 (most likely) a remake of gen 1 or remake of gen 4.
