Hope to fucking god they fix the combat in Bayonetta 3...

Hope to fucking god they fix the combat in Bayonetta 3, Bayo 2 took several steps back compared to 1 thanks to Witch Time whoring, WW nerfs, etc.

Either get Kamiya to direct or hopefully have Hashimoto hopefully take feedback into consideration.

Hashimoto: Worse combat balance
Kamiya: Dumb genre shifts and minigames that ruins the pacing

It's a dilemna

Yeah this is my hope as well. Still play Bayo 1 but have yet to really go back to Bayo 2 for ages because the combat is just worse. It just doesn't flow as well and witch time becomes something you can't do without rather than something that you can learn to not be able to need.

Bayo 2 has better enemies, maybe because Hashimoto was the enemy designer in 1

I can't believe Bayonetta fucking dies

>Bayo 2 has better enemies
fucking kek no

aside from a few demons, namely Sloth, the entire roster feels nerfed and garbage compared to the first game in terms of challenge.
Plus the 'I can just break out of combos when I want to' parry bullshit the enemies can do, and the lack of air juggling, and the braindead AI

seriously, fight Grace and Glory once in both games back to back and see how hardcore the AI got fucking raped.

never played bayo 2. did it continue the first game's horrible dedication toward quick time events, platforming sections, bad puzzles, uninteresting giant bosses, and terrible minigames?
the combat hidden beneath all the bad attempts at variety was fun but man fuck everything else about the game. truly.

>having any hope for this game whatsoever
second game was already B Team garbage, Platinum now develops so many games at once this game will likely be C Team garbage
look forward to Witch Time: The Game: The Movie

>Either get Kamiya to direct or hopefully have Hashimoto hopefully take feedback into consideration.
Huh? Should I care for Bayo2/3 at all?

QTEs are still there but optional most of the time and don't kill you.

Platforming is sort of in but not much of it, it controls way fucking better than any other game in the genre in this department anyways. Thank god you're not playing DMC3 or 4.

Puzzles were only in a scant few levels more as a callback to the first game.

Bosses are actually somehow worse than the first game by a landslide.

There's a lot less minigames and they're much shorter this time around.

That said, the combat in the second game is fucking godawful and a huge downgrade from the first.

Nope. It got rid of all of that and added more combat variety instead.
It also reduced some of the bullshit backtracking for hidden verses, a lot more of it was optional exploration instead.
That's really the best part of Bayonetta 2 is the pure combat focus.

See The combat balance is a bit worse in Bayonetta 2, but it get rid of 90% of all that Kamiya junk, it's a much more focused game

Fuck off shitposter kun

Why do people pretend Bayo 1's outside of Jeanne & Balder were worth a damn? Majority of them were literal shitty setpieces with horrid platforming & pacing. Not saying Bayo 2's alternative was ideal but 1 wasn't flawless in the boss department at all.

They seriously need to get rid of Umbran Climax altogether + nerf WT and make WW, TA, etc more viable while keeping Bayo 2's combat focus, weapon moveset variety, and more fluid movement. I know a lot of people rag on what 2 did wrong but the game did bring other neat additions hidden under the bad.

Shame they fucked up the combat, well not completely but it is worse. I mean on the lower difficulties it's fun but the combat really doesn't flow when enemies can just block you whenever they like.

I want more weapon variety in Bayo 3 like Bayo 2 but less bullshit, being punished arbitrarily for shit that is out of my control does not make for a fun game. I can only think of one enemy in Bayo 1 that could hit you and you be helpless to do anything about it and that was only if you where in the air when facing Fairness and Fearless the dog things.

Not a shitposter, I spent 350 fucking US dollars to play Bayonetta 2, Bayonetta 1 was my favorite game of the previous console generation, I fucking have 670 hours in Bayonetta 1.

Bayonetta 2 is a fucking piece of shit and so was the Wii U, huge buyer's remorse on both ends.

Also as for Bayonetta 1's bosses, Jeanne 1-3, Balder, and Infinite One Rodin are awesome.

Let's look at Bayonetta 2's good bosses
generic sword and shield angel guy
and both Aesir and Loptr

that is literally it. All the other bosses in the second game are complete dogshit, especially Lumen Sage who is the worst of the franchise so far. The reason people are harsh on Bayonetta 2 for having awful bosses is because the first game's bosses were mostly bad. It was the one area of the game that was the -easiest- to improve upon, yet they completely fucked it up.

>bayo 2 is a bad game meme

as a huge fan of the first game, Torture Attacks were a lame fucking mechanic and the scoring system itself has always sucked dick. They should make Umbran Climax less wildly overpowered but keep it.

That or have other better uses for magic, honestly in Bayo 1 the only reason to use Magic was to either quickly kill a scary enemy like Joy or Gracious/Glorious, or Bracelet of Time shenanigans.

does bayo2 lock the fun difficulties beyond a repeat playthrough? what about the bayo1 wiiu port? I refuse to sit through another chore of a Normal playthough
does bayo2 have a boss select?
does bayo2 have that really dumb ranking system where you have to backtrack to get a good score?

Completely 100% agree.

Bayo 2 allows you to start on 'Climax' which is the game's equivalent of Hard.

However Bayonetta 2 overall has had the difficulty COMPLETELY dumbed down and shit on by the B Team who can't design a game to save their lives so every difficulty level is actually one lower than the first game.

The first game's normal is like the second game's hard.
First game's hard is like the second game's Infinite Climax
First game's Infinite Climax doesn't even have a match in the second game.

There's no boss or specific verse select sadly, I would buy the Bayo 1 and 2 collection on Switch if it added this feature.

And there is still some backtracking for verses, but it's MUCH less so and much less tedious.

>First game's Infinite Climax doesn't even have a match in the second game.
Yeah, because it wasn't any fucking fun to strip out major game mechanics on higher difficulties. Witch Time is a ton of fun. Cutting it out from higher difficulty modes was full retard.

They should have had a mode that was as tough as NSIC from B1, but not if it meant just copying the boring/retarded design of B1 where WT gets totally wrecked and the game starts revolving around parries.

My only complaints with Bayo1 was the fucking stupid shoot em up section in Isla del sol.

I mean 3 minutes of that shit is nice, but fucking 10 minutes of barrel rolling just to get to the best boss fight in the game was fucking stupid.

literally git gud

a few playthroughs of NGB Master Ninja will have you dunking on NSIC Bayonetta

it was a fun and unique challenge and it also showed the -true- quality of the combat system that even without a major mechanic it still functioned perfectly as a game.

Only some enemies block and they can only block you from the front. There's also a bunch of attacks that break or circumvent guard. It is a problem with many, many solutions.

I actually have a save file dedicated entirely to the Jeanne 3 fight because of that bullshit.

I love Space Harrier. It was literally the first game I ever played. But I don't love it that much to where I want to play a bastardized tribute for 10 goddamn minutes.

>literally git gud
I've beaten most of the game user. Gudness has literally no bearing on how enjoyable something is. Witch Time is fun and it's the main backbone of Bayonetta's mechanical identity
> it also showed the -true- quality of the combat system that even without a major mechanic it still functioned perfectly as a game.
Yeah, it would've been a fun gimmick to remove WT for a whole Chapter or something. Removing it for a whole difficulty was just fucking stupid.

heres the real question to ask i can already tell this thread is full of sony pony shills. why did they go back to the old design of bayonetta

They didn't.

It's moronic to expect them to reveal the new design in such a short trailer. If you'll recall, Bayonetta 2 received an identical reveal teaser and didn't even feature her new blue pistols.

>Bayonetta 1 design
shame, the design in 2 was way better.

>Platinum: bayonettas a story continues in bayonetta3
> dies in teaser trailer
They better be pulling some cars 3 crap assuming Lightning McQueen didn't die.

user, when we get a real trailer, we'll see her new look. There is no doubt at all that she's gonna change it up in every game user.

This was just a rushed teaser.

>didn't even feature her new blue pistols.
Yes it did, and the new one also shows off her new weaponry.

Hmm... Well I guess that's fair. Just coming from the first one it felt like complete bullshit. Going to play it again soon so tips on having the Allegiance fights not feel like complete bullshit?

user, Rodin is the villain and the guns in the trailer are called "Whittingham Fair" not "Scarborough Fair".

Rodin goes evil and what we're seeing in the trailer is him forging her into a set of guns. Seriously.

>Yes it did
Oh okay, you're right about that. Still. I'm almost positive she'll get a new style, unless Kamiya is back at the helm and is being autistic and stubborn.

I swear I've been blocked from the sides and even the back.

let alone enemies like Lumen Sage who can just decide "okay you're done hitting me now" and NOTHING PERSONNEL KID away from you.

Still far better than WT whoring in 2 in which you can't even get a full non-PKP combo in an enemy.

Eh, I found that the only real difference between the two difficulties is that Witch Time is restricted on NSIC. Which does make you learn how to parry but also shows you that you don't need Witch Time to play the game. Makes playing Hard more fun as Witch Time is definitely no longer a crutch that you have to rely on.

Besides basaically it prepares you for Rodin.

the achievement is to play the mini game and get a perfect score or was it without taking damage.
i got it but it was awful

>Rodin is the villain and the guns in the trailer are called "Whittingham Fair" not "Scarborough Fair".
>Rodin goes evil and what we're seeing in the trailer is him forging her into a set of guns. Seriously.
Where did people get this information?

The guns can't be forged with her since she was holding them.

>added more combat variety instead.
The weapons feel like they're from a different series. Most have short strings and there's a lot of clunky shit.

He's guessing.

user:

>Purple flame like Rodin's fire
>If you play the trailer at .25x speed you can see the villain is wearing shades
>Rodin is basically Bayonetta-verse's Lucifer
>Their relationship was always an uneasy truce between people who don't trust each other

Rodin's forging is two stage. First he just makes a weapon. THEN he seals a soul into it.

We see this in Bayonetta 2 when he makes Alraune into a whip

All the left wing "gaming" websites are ready to be outraged.

>Witch Time is a ton of fun.
WT is a crutch, it's not something the entire combat should be built around, and keeping it around on all difficulties meant they balanced with it in mind.

Guys I can't stop feeling happy for Bayo. She's a fucking celebrity now and she deserves it even if Jeanne is best girl.

>got 2 sequels
>appeared in fucking smash bros of all things
>people recognize her now
>she's got a fucking amiibo
I love these games and I'm happy for her FUCK

She's wearing her original outfit, it's obviously a prequel moron

The game is designed with a crutch at the core of itself.

Just use an accessory to disable WT if you really care so much.

I have both her amiibos. I'm quietly excited for their support in the ports and sequel.

>I've beaten most of the game user
>beaten most
>not even cleared one playthrough

>it's the main backbone of Bayonetta's mechanical identity
The backbone of Bayonetta's combat is dodge offset, not WT, and this shows in 2.

Why would she be using guns that doesn't have demons or something already powering them.

Whip hold attack, chain chomp wicked weave, ice thrower, hammer. Probably other stuff I'm forgetting or don't know about.

>The game is designed with a crutch at the core of itself.
It wasn't. That's why 1's fine without WT but 2 isn't.

Dodge offset is only so valuable because it lets you keep comboing while still dodging and trying to get some WT active.

No idea non. I'm just telling you. The villain IS Rodin and his main gimmick is making weapons out of powerful magical beings. I think showing us Bayonetta "dying" is a red herring. He's gonna make her into guns and Jeanne will wield her for awhile while they solve that issue. Later she'll gain the ability to become a gun at will.

>happy for bayonetta
Well it looks like we'll be getting a new protagonist this time.

>I'm quietly excited for their support in the ports and sequel.
what would they unlock?

>Dodge offset is only so valuable because it lets you keep comboing while still dodging and trying to get some WT active.
It's valuable because it lets you get to Wicked Weaves, which are the strongest portions of your combos. WT has nothing to do with it.

This will be Jeanne's game!

Im serioudly torn about this announcement, bayo 2 was one of the most disappointing games I've played. I really hope they chanclge and/or get rid of umbral climax.

so she's megatron the witch.

minor new content? Like an extra costume? That's what I'd expect for B2 and B1 at least. B3 might even have it's own Amiibo line.

No pls.

Meant for

you got a problem with best girl?

This user is fucking dead on.

Kamiya is one of the greatest game directors ever but he ruins shit with his dumb gimmicks. Something about the pacing in Bayonetta 1 is really off-putting.

Well her name is BAYONETta. Her becoming a living gun sort of makes perfect sense.

>Guys I can't stop feeling happy for Bayo
My thoughts exactly

>still thinking Kamiya actually cares about action gameplay and doesn't just use it to get people to play his shitty shmups

Seriously guys, I am 100% expecting this game to be the Metal Gear Solid 2 of the franchise. Kamiya even said before that he wanted to make a Jeanne spin-off.

This.

Kamiya doesn't actually make games he'd like to play. He's an arcadefag purist. Fans have been pressuring him to try Kid Icarus Uprising because it's so inspired by his alltime favorite game: Space Harrier. He still hasn't. It's too modern.

I'm with you user

>Rodin becomes the villain
>Bayonetta is forged into a set of pistols and Jeanne is in control for the for 40% of the game or more

It's gonna be spicy.

>each one has a different set of weapons instead of reskins
I need it

Wow I thought Sup Forums gave Bayo 1&2 a free pass, but now that's it's coming to Switch people are voicing criticisms finally.

I don't like Bayonetta at all. The aesthetic, witch time, that whole introductory segment in 2 (can japs do blacks right at least once m8, cut the jive talk and chocobos in afros pls), boss fights (I'm ok with QTEs but come on), execution system, and pretty much any and all exploration in the game can fuck right off (it just isn't interesting).

They're better off going the Asura's Wrath route and going full arena combat, but with less QTEs. Asura found a dope balance.
>remove platforming
>tone down all the excess screen clutter/flashing/colors
>figure out how to make the bosses fun, rather than relying on the QTE payoff

I dunno, running through a 3rd installment of a game with minimal changes would be a chore, like with any other franchise.

What if Jeanne was the weapon

Yes if it means bayo dies and not the mcm
Is mgs named after the protagonist? The solid part I mean. Because it would weird to call it bayonetta but you don't play as like the previous game.

Bayonetta is a fictional character and isn't real

Bayonetta 2 was never given a free pass.

>bayo isn't real
what do you mean?

It absolutely was shilled here nonstop at release

and after release when everyone actually got into the deeper mechanics of the game everyone came to the agreement that it was a flawed game

You will never get crushed by her chicken thighs in real life, she'll never let you pound the hairiest snatch in vidya history, and she absolutely does not give a shit about being your femdom fantasy.

>People say:
>Bayo 2 is bad
>What they mean:
>My welfare check only lets my buy one console every five years!

Anything that's not cuhrayzee talk should be ignored.

Fuck you

I'm not attracted to bayo though, I like her cause she's classy but that's as far as I go. Jeanne is the real waifu material

Bayo 3 is going to be the worst game ever made literally. Fans won't put up with this weak tablet shit for a 3rd time and will eviscerate this game as they should have with 2

This is your Bayonetta haircut for this installment.

>can japs do blacks right at least once m8, cut the jive talk and chocobos in afros pls
lol angry nigger

The genre doesn't really require that much power. Shit's not open world (hopefully). We'd take literally Bayonetta 2's assets running at a perfect 60.

I would be a little sad for Rodin to become evil but any excuse to play as Jeanne would be good.

>Worst game ever made

Thats MGSV.

I put almost 700 hours in the first game and bought a Wii U entirely for the sole purpose of playing Bayonetta 2

Bayonetta 2 is fucking godawful and it was a huge waste of my time and money. The entire Wii U was.

Bayonetta beats Dante 1v1

You literally cannot disprove this

hey sony

Practically no one said that, we're discussing what we want in the sequel based on the success and the flaws of the previous games. Do you believe Bayonetta 2 to be the one and only perfect game?

I'm not a MGS specialist, at all, but I assume that the "Solid" in Metal Gear Solid come from Solid Snake. What I know for sure is that people were shocked when you ended up playing as faggot Raiden (especially since there was a demo where you played as Solid Snake, it was pretty much false advertising)

Literally no one that is genuinely into the genre give a shit. It's too niche to justify the budget required for better graphics anyways.

>I have Stockholm syndrome from playing the first game, and am now upset that the sequel made changes from it.
Sorry about your autism, user.

I still have no clue what the Death Battle guys were thinking. It's like they played through both game's stories and didn't read any lore descriptions for anything in either game.

Dante would get bodied by almost any boss from Bayonetta. The hardest shit he's fought is either Mundus or The Despair Embodied. We never really saw what kind of destruction Despair Embodied was capable of but it probably wasn't capable of destroying entire continents at once like many Bayonetta bosses are claimed to be.

for fucks' sake Gracious and Glorious are capable of destroying planets.

And not only did they not take into account the lore of either game, they didn't even bother with the game mechanics. Like, Bayonetta with Moon of Mahaa Kalaa would body Dante when it comes to parrying. Let alone shit like Bat Within where even if he hits her it just doesn't count.

IT'S NOT LIKE WE NEED DMC5 OVER BAYO3

Itagaki: shit boss fights and stubborn to his own team and publisher
Itsuno: shit level design and willingly let Capcom fuck him

>Death Battle guys

They all got their heads up their asses, user
