What do you do if you don't like the game that all your friends are playing?

What do you do if you don't like the game that all your friends are playing?

try playing it with them, maybe you can see what parts they like.

I've never been into sports games but playing them with friends can be fun desu

There's never a shortage of single player games in the backlog, user.

Simple, you grow a spine and do what you like instead. All my friends are playing FOTM trash like PUBG, Destiny 2 and Blizz games if a game comes along we all like I'm playing it with them otherwise I do my own thing.

>Friends

Probably start a shitty thread on Sup Forums while crying about it.

>friends

You play something else.

The last time I played a game with friends they all made fun of how shit I was. They were competitive as fuck and even tried to start streaming careers. Admittedly I am pretty shit, but I wasn't even having fun so I just stopped.
That was years ago when I was still in high school. I don't even know those people anymore. I don't even have friends anymore. I guess just suck it up and try to have fun with your friends because you don't know how long it will last.

>organize group hangout to watch game awards that is planned weeks in advanced
>we've done this shit before and had a good time
>friends dont attend as a joke and watch without me. (or they just dont want to hangout with me and play it off as them meme-ing)

Is that code for they don't like me? Is it time to bite the bullet? I'm too autistic to pick up on social cues.

>blizz games are fotm
you may not like them, but hasnt literally every blizzard game since wc3 been hugely popular and successful?

Get better friends

I should have phrased it differently, I dind't mean to say Blizz games are fotm

I'm the one who plays the most and it's mostly always up to me what we play. If there's a game they wanna play I'll try it but not promise anything; if it's ubisoft or ea shit then I will not play it

>dependent on others to supply reason for your own enjoyment
Online multiplayer was a mistake.

Oh no you come across just fine

"friends"? Odd... I remember hearing this word eons ago.

just get good enough at the game to the point they dont like playing it any more and find a new one

>get dragged into playing a game with e-friends
>shell out the $15 to buy it
>it's a grindy pile of crap that I hate, but I tolerate it
>try to suggest a new game that's also free and runs on everyone's computer
>they go along with it and give it a go
>spend 15 minutes playing through the very early stages
>one of them somehow dies in what is essentially a tutorial
>"wow, this game sucks"
>"yeah let's go back to the other game"
>they all ditch the game to go back to the crappy MMO they were playing before

>friend is part of a gaming club that plays all sort of couch games and stuff
>he loves
>friends tell me when they get into to high school the entire group is going to merge with a league of legends esport "league"
>he hates league
i almost feel bad for him

why are you friends with a 14 year old kid, user? thats fucking creepy

Find out which friend(s) are modt open to trying new shit and convince them to play with you. Nearly all my IRL friends only want to play games with either EBIN E-SPORT COMPETITIVE focus or whatever shit is popular on Twitch, but there's one in the group who's willing to dick around in more casual shit like L4D2, and often I can wrangle in one other IRL friend who doesn't give a shit about Twitch or Competitive.

Because i'm friends with his older brother and the kid has okay taste in games

I usually try to join in and attempt to git gud so I can keep up.
Sucks that my friends usually don't reciprocate when it comes to something like fighting games or single player games in general.
