>persona 5 didn't get best soundtrack
Impossible, it must be rigged. Neirs ost was good but it wasn't nearly as catchy, soulful, melodically constructed and overall grand as p5. Anyone who say otherwise is a robot.

Rivers in the desert is still the best track of the year. I dont give a fuck about anything else.
I blame Last Surprise and the inability to change it without buying dlc.
The lyrics are awful, though.
Soundtrack of the year for me's a toss-up beteen Persona 5, Xenoblade 2 and Sen 3
How mediocre...i mean it's catchy but lyrics are retarded
>is a robot
it's not a game
Blooming Villain would like a word
>weebs
>good musical taste
youtube.com
off yourselves
How are they awful?
Person 4 would have won best OST if it replace P5.
Persona 5 OST is great.
Nier Automata has the best OST of all time.
>divinity original sin 2 didn't get best rpg
>Impossible, it must be rigged. Persona was good but it wasn't nearly as catchy, soulful, melodically constructed and overall grand as Divinity. Anyone who say otherwise is a robot.
Soundtrack is a hard thing to judge.
Like, there's hearing the songs as is, so you'd be able to enjoy them on their own merits - but playing the game, meanings are attached to these songs, thus making them more important to the listener(presumably.)
Nier: A probably just mixed the music and narrative better in their own eyes instead of just having catchy tunes.
I dunno, lol
It probably would have won if they kept it in their native language. While some of the musical compositions are great, the singing is just feels like some Jap trying her best to do English karaoke. It's certainly not on the level of burn my bread or the other shit, but it's still pretty awful.
Not sure if trolling, but the singing in Nier is a made-up language, not english. Which is partly why it's so cool
The OST of P5 is terrible, and im a fucking fan of the saga.
Nier had a glorious OST but persona 5 comes a really close second
I hate to be the nostalgia freak but apart from Rivers in the Desert and Beneath My Mask I don't remember P5 topping the memorable variety of P3 and P4's music.
>p5 didn't get best artstyle
>p5 didn't get best soundtrack
>p5 got best RPG even though the dungeoneering is fucking shit
Now you remember Wiping All Out.
That one is even worse.
P5 came out last year, bro.
Persona music in general isn't very good, especially the vocal tracks. There are a few stand out tracks in each game but they're only good and not great. P5's ost isn't close to equaling Nier's but I guess it had to be a nominee because there's not much competition.
Thing is, how do these even get picked? Isn't a taste in music, at the very basic level, a highly subjective thing? So how can there be 1 best ost? My advice is dont give a damn about what anyone says, if you like it you like it.
>but the singing in Nier is a made-up language, not english.
I had no clue since I didn't play the game. Though, like you said, it's made up. There isn't anything to even compare it to. I can see the novelty in that. With Persona, you can pinpoint the moments where there are clear mispronunciations or just straight up awkward use of words and syllables. it's jarring and to me, takes away from the music entirely leading it to not be considered one of the greats of this year when it comes to soundtracks.
>Soulful
P5 has a really mediocre OST. also. you can't keep making shitty pop songs with garbage lyrics and always get away with it. you will have a high number of followers but that doesn't mean it is actually good. even on the shit show that is the music industry this happens all the time
>Xenoblade 2
Mor Ardain is one of the most hype field themes I've heard in ages
youtube.com
Uraya's day theme apparently brought Mitsuda to tears when he first heard it too.
youtube.com
Nothing like a pop song with garbage lyrics.
Keeper of lust is the only memorable track. And it's much worse than Unavoidable Battle or Hari Hara.
youtube.com
What P5 track comes close to topping this?
But XV had the best OST, anons
P5 is a great game with a great soundtrack, but Nier's is one of the best soundtracks in any video game ever.
Love me some Yoko.

I found a burned CD with this. Some good shit.
>no a beautiful song
>download the whole ost
>1 good song.
>its the night battle song
lol
Persona 3 would have won best soundtrack AND GOTY.. c'mon P5fags..
Derp, didn't realize you were talking about p5.
I can see your complaint, but it's never really bothered me. I just found it made the music more unique with the "engrish" vocals
There's something wrong with you if you don't like this youtube.com
It sets the mood perfectly.
nails is pretty good, user
good taste
>Neirs ost was good but it wasn't nearly as catchy
I don't save these memes.
But this post truly deserves a brainless Wojak reply.
Get your shit tastes out of this thread faggot
Made in Abyss OST would win if it was a game
Yes, the OST really sets the mood for the mind-numbing repetitiveness of the game.

Generic orchestral music will always beat something unique or different
RPGs aren’t always about dungeoneering, you know. It’s called a Role Playing Game because you are playing a special role in a Highschool life simulator. Hell, you could even call Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley RPGs, even though combat isn’t their main focus
Lets not forget its memorable daytime music.
P3 had the unforgettable Want to be Close, P4 had the melodic and catchy Heartbreak. And P5... has mall music.
youtube.com
Gravity Rush 2 wasn't even nominated for best soundtrack?
>melodically constructed
what the fuck are you trying to convey here? people who listen only to AMVs and video game OSTs have no fucking clue about music. I bet you have a vidya OST on your fucking mp3 player
>unforgettable
>melodic
>catchy
You know these words don't really mean anything, right?
Tell that to the OP.
Agreed. I thought Persona 5 had some really outstanding tracks that could easily compete with the best tracks from the other games, but all in all, it generally had more mediocre and forgettable stuff and wasn't as good overall.
Want to be Close is kinda poo
>Implying something can compete against this.
youtube.com
Shoji Meguro is a fucking hack, face it
Also Nier:A's soundtrack not as good as original nier and overall I don't give a fuck about these awards
Still Meguro fucking sucks and you should know it
its shit
Shit thread OP, stop using meaningless words to make it sound like you know anything about music.
>Digital Devil Saga
>Strange Journey
>bad
Nocturne's OST is a meme
Just wanted to stop by and say this song is not good and neither is any vidya music
...
This. Nier's OST wasn't even as memorable as BotW's.
The most memed songs of Nocturne are really a meme, but it has some good tracks in it.
Not him but they're like some Neffex shit or something. The hook is cool but all it does is say the same thing in different ways. "Gotta do this, now or never"
>but playing the game, meanings are attached to these songs
>Nier: A probably just mixed the music and narrative better in their own eyes instead of just having catchy tunes.
Thank you for actually understanding what makes a game soundtrack so great. Nier went above and beyond with handling its music with transitioning 8-bit and quiet versions of most of the tracks. And they didn't just transition for scripted events. The overworld music would also dip in and out of their "quiet" versions when traveling which added so much to the atmosphere.
Wow, three fucking games
why did you forget about Catherine?
Still overall he's a shitter and never surpassed even P1 OST
youtu.be
>only 6 good songs in Persona 5
>multiple are just extended versions
>Nier's entire soundtrack is good
Lmao
Go to school and have a part-time job. Fantasy we all wanted to live through
I like River in the Desert specifically because the unclear vocal delivery lets me hear it as another instrument and ignore the garbage lyrics entirely. Same with Beneath the Mask, which is my favorite vidya song of the year.
youtube.com
>Go to school and have a part-time job
>never have homework, you can skip the job whenever you want, get paid the very same day and be treated like a long time friend whenever you step there
Who wouldn't want to live in that world?
>unironically playing games designed for socially anxious soyboys
No thank you
>P5 best soundtrack
>Anyone who say otherwise is a robot
>mad that Nier won
You this much of a fucking brainlet? Compared to P5, Nier's soundtrack had meaning to it and fit well with the narrative. It was filled with emotions and power. Plus, the music made the game more immersive. Don't judge me wrong. I did enjoy the tracks from P5, but, Nier was just objectively better. Nier deserved the reward.
Want to be close is repetitive as fuck.
kys
did the last guardian come out this year? The award is a travesty if it did.
How can songlets even HOPE to compete?

I agree. The music single handedly made me keep coming back and playing Persona 5. And I was smiling and shaking my hips in my seat the entire time.
I love this song. I don't get the love for Rivers in the Desert at all.
>get to the final dungeon
>this song with lyrics is played
>just stand around to enjoy listening to it
It came out December last year. The deadzone for awards. Too late for that year, won't be counted for next year
>needing lyrics
youtube.com
>P5 OST
>Engrish
Yeah, P5 OST is bad.
>Watch Persona super live.
>P3 and P4 singers are shit at singing.
>P5 singer literally shits on them.
Why did it take so long for the series to get a good singer?
xenoblade 2 > Nier: A > P5 > the rest
really it's a toss up between Nier and Xenoblade
They're the same singers for about 90% of the games
Who cares
Did you fucks forget that MGSV also won best OST against Bloodborne?
if u really think p5 deserved it u really are blind on your love for p5, i can respect that
but nier tho, they even went the extra mile to redo pretty much every track on chiptune for the hacking minigame
then u got multiple versions of the ending credits, specially ending the ending E one.
in p5 pretty much every track was violin, guitar, and synthetic sounds
nier had a ton of shit on it and those vocals just hoo boi
imo p5 was pretty weak in the vocals department, like shape shifter rivers in the desert, wake up and never see it coming were the only -really- good ones.
I'd rather just listen to the p3-4-DAN-reincarnations album tracks again than p5
but again, nier tho
Post yfw the band started playing rivers in the desert
I’m actually happy that Keichii Okabe can finally have some recognition on him because he’s an amazing composer. He did amazing compositions for Drakenguard 3 and NieR: Gestalt.
That was done by Yoshitaka Suzuki though.
What about Keigo Hoashi? He did around half of the soundtrack and gets no credit. He also did the best track.
youtube.com
Persona's 5 soundtrack is too repetitive, it was really good at first but became old fast.
The game that won best soundtrack didnt even get any of its soundtrack played.
I blame Mementos. As much time as is spent in there, it was a terrible song.
Honestly, this was the GOTY, but what did you expect from today's rigged and corrupt system?
Persona 5 will be remembered, and that's all that should count for us.
WHO AM I?
AM I NOT UNIQUE
i've seen this comment more than once
was it really a problem?
i once visited mementos like 5 times and it was ok for me
Pic related or it didn't happen
Wait. If we are talking about rigged competitions... does that mean the Phantom Thieves will change the heart of those who give the awards?
MAYBE I'M NOT HERE AT ALL
