Not hard enough, apparently. I spent 100 hours just making low level characters and not leveling up, getting the things I needed for builds so I could wamp on people as, for example, shrek.

That's just tedious to me. I'll just stick with making level 20 to 30 characters and helping people cross the Road of Sacrifices or Farron's Keep instead.

I'd say Lord of Cinder isn't even on the same demiplane as that asshole dragon. Lord of cinder is easy peesy in comparison.

When a lot of people were whining that magic is useless in DaS3 I decided to do a playthrough with a base level mage, just to see if Sup Forums is full of shit.
And of course they were full of shit. There were some challenges of course, NK being one of them, but I still managed it well enough.

Whenever people talk about "magic is useless" it usually means PvP. And magic really IS trash in PvP. From nerfed magic into the ground after how busted it was in DeS.

I leveled that mage up to 30 to do some pvp. Heysel pick with homing crystal soulmass and farron hail.
Spam those spells until they get annoid and either run or roll towards you and then you wack them with the pick.
Sometimes if they're at a certain distance I'll bait them into charging by making them think I'm casting a spell but instead I'd buff the Heysel pick so I can wack them with even more damage.
One of the easiest and most successful pvp builds I've tried. Admittedly though most of the damage came from the pick and not the spells. They're just bait, but if they hit it's just as well.

Pure caster was broken in 1 and 2. In 3, it's damn near impossible. That's what people really mean when they say magic sucks in 3.

The difference being that in DaS3 you start with a strong weapon with a ridiculously good Weapon Art and a half-decent shield.

Pure caster was hardly broken in DaS2. Even if you rush Staff of Wisdom you need a ton of int to use it.

Just because it's not optimal for 1v1 duels does not mean it's useless in pvp. Go do brawls. It's full of sorcerers one shotting you.

Some builds are better for some situations than others. This is like RPG 101.

No, some builds are far more situational, PERIOD. There are builds that are better for more situations than less, and magic is not one of them.

dark souls 2 and 3 both have deprived start at level 1
demon souls royalty starts at level 1.
Bloodbornes lowest class is waste of skin, which is level 4

Because DaS3 removed branching options.
