Indulging in these actually neat aspects of a culture is good for stuff like video games because you can adapt different culture's mythologies or explain cultural traditions in an interesting way or display lesser known stuff about them and obviously since it's a video game, make them super over the top and fun
I fucking wish that people would adapt more stuff in games about things like Native American mythos with thunderbirds and skin-walkers and shit, or even more modern American mythos like Mothman and Jersey devils
