The third one

First and second. I prefer 2 over 3. I don't care much for the third, level design started to get a little too convoluted. I don't remember any of the others much less if they came out for PS1.

TR2.

No matter what don't play TR3 on ps1.

1 and 2. I replayed 2 a year ago and it's still fantastic.

But try and play them on the PC, they are really built around quick save.

Tomb Raider has never been good.

The last revelation.

You can try this which is like a browser demo game of Tomb Raider 1 to see if you like it.

1-5 really. They're all really good games and still hold up nowadays.

>tfw cant get the pc version to work of the first game

Check gog forums, it usually covers every problem.

it really really wasn't. even as a kid playing that dominoe's demo I thought it was shit. And I loved gex 2, so...

>Can't setup DOSbox

More important that series barely evolved, every new game feels just like a map pack to the original one.

Absolutely this. I tried every year there was a new release to get into the series but finally gave up when Soul Reaver and Ocarina of Time came out. I realized then that TR was never going to control even half as good and it made me sad because I believed my friends who insisted the exploring and shit was great.

But tank controls and autistically calculating jumps was the best part

It gets tedious very fast and diagonal jumps usually require save/load rather than calculation.

This, thread reeks of shit taste

The new games are nothing like the originals, it might as well be a completely different IP.

Google "Playing Tomb Raider 1 natively on modern Windows using GLRage" - there's patch that makes the game run natively on Windows.

To answer the OPs question - play them all. If you can only play one then play Last Revelation.

>save / load rather than calculation
>in a game where jump distance and obstacle distances are 100% consistent every time only varying between different types of jumps and a set number of different distances
How utterly shit are you at games?

The tank controls are alright on PC with arrow controls. I don't think I'd be able to play this with gamepad though. The jumping requires some training but on PC it's easy mode with the ability to quick save before every jump.

I used the Tomb Raider Fix and it launches now. I cant get the 360 controller to work though even with the xinput file
