Why is it okay with Blizzard does it?

No really, why does Overwatch get a pass while everyone loses their shit over Battlefront 2?

what about HotS fucking every hero cost 5-9$ or 10k gold which takes forever.

overwatch is full of kids and bitches

The same reason why TF2 gets a pass.

better than being a dead game like TF2 I guess

Overwatch Loot Boxes: Entirely cosmetic
Battlefront 2 Crates: Things that affect gameplay and give you an advantage

they both suck but the former is less harmful

Cosmetic shit vs Pay 2 Win

One sells gives you just Skins besides other shit and the other gives you an advantage at the game.

Unlike the two games in the OP, hots is f2p.

cosmetics vs p2w

I would much rather have the shit overwatch does than the bullshit that pubg, csgo and other shooters have. At least buying the game and getting every skin through gameplay is more appealing than some lock and key bull shit steam games have

>tf2/csgo
>can sell the results of your crate for real money, only way to open them is with keys that someone has to pay for
>a-ok, nobody cares

>bf2/overwatch
>get crates from playing the game, can't trade them let alone sell them for money
>REEEEEEEE GUBERMANT BAN THEM!!!1

?

ow loot boxes don't let you get an unfair advantage over other players.

do your quests for about a week or two, get free rotation heroes to 5-10 for EZ gold

The contraversy didn't start over bf2 or overwatch, and you know that you attention starved faggot, delete your post.

Because they're entirely cosmetic, and Blizzard has gone through great lengths to make the lootbox situation easier to work with since launch.

You can tell people this until you're blue in the face and they'll pretend like they don't understand the difference between that and progress/character enhancing lootboxes like in Battlefront.

2 WEEKS FOR 1 HERO HOW IS THIS EZ AND YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE HERO IS TOTAL TRASH

>d-delet this!

>anime poster
>retarded

everytime

Because Blizzard have better viral marketing teams to counter against hate towards them, they are the masters of social media.

>AND YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE HERO IS TOTAL TRASH
unlike lego legends, you can actually try out heroes
and actually try, none of that "hurr wait for free weekend" bullshit

Valve's system has been praised here because of the ability to get stuff without spending a cent yourself. It's actually much more predatory than other games but selfish people only think of themselves.

First off, it's not okay. Second:

>Being so dumb, you don't know the difference between cosmetics and strict competitive advantage

2 weeks at most, if you keep on your quests (200-300/d), so almost 1k every 3 days, + free heroes on rotation that vary in cost themselves and give 500 gold upon getting them to 5 and 10 respectively which means you'll be swimming in gold. plus you get small amounts upon game completion so just keep at it user

Only cosmetic items vs pay 2 win items. And OW gets constant free updates.

More like why BF2 and OW gets shit for lootboxes when Valve crates were totally fine for years.

Probably has something to do with them being actual gameplay elements locked in those boxes instead of a cosmetic - only system doubling up as actual currency.

>he plays the game for cosmetics
>he'd prefer no cosmetics over lootboxes

t. gold or lower

Overwatch lootboxes contain stuff like skins, voice lines, poses and sprays, stuff that does not give you an advantage.

Battlefront 2 lootboxes contain stuff like weapons, weapon upgrades and special abilities, stuff that gives you an advantage.

You have to be at least 18 years old to post on Sup Forums.

Because heroes aren't locked behind a paywall and everyone autistically screeches at the limited time only skins which encourage gambling?

I see a lot of that shit, user.

Whether or not the content is cosmetic or not isnt actually going to matter. The loot from Overwatch's lootboxes all have value attached to them. It may not be real money value, but the fact that you can buy a lootbox and get something that is demonstrably worth more than something else, as valued by the people who sold the loot box, defines this as gambling. If Star Wars lootboxes get hit legally, you can bet Overwatches will as well, as well as any other game that basically allows you to purchase the loot you find in lootboxes.

blizzdrones you fucking retard, the things that play blizzard games aren't even human they're like plants.

idk how it works in other games but overwatch gives you a lootbox every time you level up, and you level up pretty often, and you get credits pretty often which let you buy specifically what you want. and it's all cosmetic

i think lootboxes are cancer but I'm pretty sure bf2 takes it to an entirely different level

EA stepped to far over the line and pissed of the hive. Blizzard boxes are only cosmetic so who cares. Activision steps a little over the line but there is enough stuff in their games so noone says anything.

you don't win extra stats in overwatch boxes. yet.

>isnt going to matter
Purely subjective.
The question is why do people think overwatch lootcrates are fine but not EAs.
You could easily say that some people actually do hate that overwatch has loot crates but thats not the reason why one was worse than the other.
The true answer is that star wars locked character and upgrades behind their loot crates and had arbitrarily high grind to unlock them legitimately.
Its one thing to play with base cosmetics and another to play with gimped stats.

Soyboys make no sense.
