Why are people so hyped for Kingdom Hearts III?

I finished BBS last week and I hated that game and apparently they're being made by the same team so I have no hype anymore. I wanted to play DDS but apparently they're made by the same dev too. Oh well, I still have KH1 and 2.

DDS still uses the command deck, doesn't it? That system is trash. Plus, KH1 was actually good when I played it, sure it felt dated but it was fun nonetheless. BBS was fucking trash from the get go.

If 3 has anything like the data battles, it's an insta-buy. Those were top-notch.

This game appeals to my inner child with Disney and to my inner late adolescent with Squaresoft characters. Playing these games gives me familiar, comforting feelings of spending friend and family vacations at Disneyland. When you saw that first commercial for Kingdom Hearts 1 back in 2002, while that catchy single by Utada Hikaru set the tone, you knew you were in for a truly special experience.

The command deck is fine, the problem with those games is enemy AI.

i think most of us original fans are in the same boat, most of the people still defending KH on here are kids who jumped onto the ride recently because of the remasters

I would argue that if one would fix KHs camera it would vastly improve. That said KH isn't needed as KH2 can be a stand alone ggame.

The games have legit goof game play.
KH2 on Harder difficulties is literally like DMC or Bayo.
2 Remix and HD even has a difficulty that removes all RPG elements and you only get stat upgrades from beating bosses.

No and no. I-frames are properly implemented and nothing like Vanitas' teleporting, Terra-Xehanort's infinite Slide or Mysterious Figure exists.

Balloonra literally has 6 or 8 balloons that instantly home in on enemies for incredibly damage and Balloonga has explosive balloons that deal more than Balloonra but it's like a Mine Square. It's the single best command you can ever get that's not Thundaga + Magnega for mobs.

Name them, because if this was true people would be using them instead of just a full deck of Balloonra that recovers incredibly fast and is easy to obtain which is also useful for both mobs and bosses alike. You can kill Julius in a handful of casts of Balloonra for crying out loud.

No, because Balloonra is easy. You pop it and run away. There's no skill involved, so any shmuck can feel like a god.

It is by far not the most efficient strategy.
Personally, I'm a very big fan of Shadowbreaker. Spark Dive does good work as well for much of the early and midgame. Riku's Meteor Crash, while slow, can be used to great effect.

Story was pretty good pre-DDS/DDD. Splitting across so many systems was a shitty business decision, but does not make the story itself poor.

Especially now that the story as a whole can be seen with 2 ps4 games.
