Civilization thread

Dutch leader is T H I C C

Did they reduce the size of her tits?

they moved mass from tits to chins

Why so many female leaders this time around?

Because MUH DIVERSITY

first for /Pakal/

You think in ten or so years in the future they'll add "modern" leaders like JFK or Sadam?

>more constitutional monarchs who had no power or influence over their country's events

cool, I guess

Yes, but they will be transgender female.

>current year
>not adding Elagabalus for the transgender quota

I bet they'll tie in Radio Oranje into the new loyalty system. Maybe sparking uprisings or regaining captured cities.
I'd prefered Willem van Oranje but this isn't bad.

Will Rise and Fall save VI or it's a lost cause by now?

>nice old lady with a parasol meets a man who ordered that POWs were to be flayed and sacrificed to various nature and war deities.
I think diplomatic negotiations will break down fairly quickly

You're forgetting this is the series where Gandhi will use nukes on everyone as soon as he gets access to them

>not winning before anyone gets a nuke

what the fuck where's william come on

The Dutch leader should have been the Canadian prime minister

For better or worse they're trying to avoid leaders from V except for meme man (and Pedro because the BRs don't have anyone else worth leading them.)

Problem with that is that although the Dutch have a couple of other relatively popular leaders besides William of Orange, they're still not nearly as good as him. You've got the other Willy, and you've got her. She stands out a lot more, so fair. It's not the worst female leader choice in the game, at least.

kek, looks like Mardi Gras costume.

>reminder that this is supposed to be a human

what would JFK's ability/unique unit be?

>Sup Forums doesn't understand caricature

not enough for some people

>magic bullet
if a civ declares war on you, a random other civ gets war declared as well

>chinks
>human

They could easily put Getúlio Vargas for Brazil, but they don't want any nationalistic white guy to lead anyone

No he is supposed to be chinese?

I didnt know Bo Rai Cho from Mortal Kombat was in this game

My favourite part of this trash is how they called Songhai "glorious" when the Songhai empire is pretty much responsible for the collapse of West African civilization, rise of Islamic theocracy around Lake Bornu, and they suggest a chick from after their collapse because they didn't bother with proper historical records even for West African standards of oral history.

FUCK Songhai.

The leaders look much better when they're moving. They're very expressive.

*Lake Chad

every time i think she's hot, i remember her parents were brother and sister.

that makes her even hotter

No, the Chinese aren't supposed to be human.

IV > V > 3 = 2 > VI > 1 >>>>>>>> aids > BE

>polluting a pure bloodline
don't even think about it, her ancestors rode with Alexander

we must dissent
Alpha Centauri > IV = V > 3 > BE
haven't played 1 or 2, so can't comment on that

...

Who the fuck posted this in the last thread? Show yourself you little pussy.

Half of this list wasn't even in any position of power or never did anything worthy of note

...

I appreciate your post

Is that a pillar man ?

Nah that's an Inca, man.

>nice old lady
She wanted to get to Zeeland in an English destroyer to be alongside the Dutch troops, and kicked out the prime minister when he was talking about giving up everything to the Germans. She wasn't so bad.

yay more irrelevant women
if they libtards keep repeating their agenda it might become real

>Wilhemina
>irrelevant leader

This post annoys me because there's quite a few legit female leaders out there but they manage to miss them completely. Come the fuck on. Also people like Sacajawea when she was explicitly ruled out in Civ 5 (obviously, because she wasn't a leader).

yay more ignorant shittalking hoping for brownie points from nu-Sup Forums
kill yourself

When can I be jeffferson and mass buy land for dirt cheap?

the green berets for jfk and research bonus

Something about space race, so he’d be geared towards a science victory. Name the ability after his go to the Moon speech

JFK maybe, Saddam probably not. People talk about how Mao and Stalin used to be in, but the series gradually got a more global audience and some wounds are a little too fresh (not necessarily the players themselves, but parents/grandparents). That's also why you see so few modern leaders except ones that are wholly uncontroversial.

It's not that Wilhemina is an irrelevant leader, it's that Netherlands is an irrelevant country.

but it's not

t. mad balkanist

I'm so sorry dutchbros...

What

;_;

Dutchbro here, I'm completely fine with it. Willem is cool but if they wanted to change it up for once they really had two choices: Wilhelmina (which they picked) or Willem III, which the Brits might claim. Fits well with the Rise & Fall, emergency and loyalty themes, too.

Yea, actually kind of mad that a figure known for being no-nonsense is portrayed as some fat English pop tart with a derpy smile.

>Jeb! meme
gets me every time

Reminder that they changed the looks of leaders (specifically Teddy and Huang) quite a bit before vanilla release, so if you want it changed, make some noise.

For what?

i'm pretty happy the netherlands is in at all, and wilhelmina is fine

This is a game that i will say goes out of its way to make the women ugly for no reason. Cause alot of the males i think look really good within the crappy artstyle. Guys like Gilga Cyrus and Philip look fine to me.

That being said i still think the game overall is really fun cause i love the district/wonder system so building your empire is neat.

I hope Polder's make a return for the dutch though. I liked turining swamps into rainbows in 5

...

that 3D model sure isn't, jesus christ

Civ V striked the right balance between cartoony and realistic why VI didnt do the same?

Because it's better to do something different than repeat yourself

can you name some? not doubting, I'd genuinely love to know. Its hard to tell whats legit when theres a quota sometimes...

Depends if the different thing is good or not.

>Wilhelmina

WE

I have a question Sup Forums, why does Civ need a "leader" to be the face of the country? Can't they just use flags. What purpose do they serve except for that overly generic "here is their accomplishments during loading times.

Most Civ leaders of recent civs have been decent, with the notable exceptions of Theodora, Gorgo, and arguably Boudicca (because "Celts" are hard to define) and Dido (because she's 95% mythological, like Hiawatha). Hatshepsut, Cixi, Zenobia, Trung sisters, Nzinga and Amina would all be decent choices that haven't come around yet off the top of my head. There's quite a few pretty bad male leaders in this game (notably Nvemba and Trajan), but you don't hear about those much.

What annoys me about that list is that they make some people "leaders" while they aren't. Just accept that some cultures or civilization never really had a known female ruler.

>I le posted it again!
O B S E S S E D

Ah, okay. Thank you for taking your time to reply :)

If Cleopatra didn't look 100 times better than most of the characters to boot, you might have had a point.

>Trajan
>a bad leader
wat?

>le

I'm sorry, I needed to put it in terms redditors like that user can understand

>Trajan
>the fucking Optimus Princeps
>a bad leader

Maybe just my personal pet peeve, but Trajan I never found particularly interesting, plus his Civ 6 looks so much like Caesar (Asterix Caesar, to be precise) that I can't get over the thought they replaced him last minute.

Probably just me though, that's fine.

this desu.

These games needs more women leaders.

why?

>be extremely small country
>still in the top three eu contribitors

reeeeeee i demand more clay for glorious united netherlands

To be fair in this case she had more power than the actual PM, who was a traitorous bitch

You forgot civ rev

it's time

JUST PLAY A REAL GAME LIKE EU4 LMAO

I get where you're coming from with the Asterix likeness but at the same time, it's not like Caesar in Asterix is some historical depiction of the guy. It's literally a caricature of the guy. Give him the famous gigantic nose, make him old and clothe him in "Roman" clothes.

Their Trajan is likewise just that, using the kind of nose you see on Trajan's busts.

A large part of why Trajan is viewed in such a good light is that we know next to nothing about the decade or so in between his two campaigns at the beginning and end of his reign. He could have been an utter shithead (however unlikely) and still be loved due to his military contributions.
All we have is that he was extremely successful in getting territory for Rome. However most of that territory was abandoned immediately because it would be impossible to hold.
His historical character comes down to "he was great at war" and not much else.

That's not really true, Trajan in Civ 6 is very skinny and looks like Caesar busts

Meanwhile, this is Trajan, who had quite a chubby face

Why turn smug grandma into generic smiling grandma?

What a pathetic "man". I bet he wets himself out of pure excitement when he sees a female mc or female in power.

compare to Trajan in Civ

>Left: Proud, stern matriarch
>Right: Goofy Mary Poppins goblin

Is this proof the guy from Friends is a time traveler?
