Why did DF retro stop? I liked that series.
John Linneman looks like a chipmunk but I'd have a beer with him.

*moves hands around*

>that guy who talks really awkwardly
>strange pauses while talking
>sounds like a twat

Much prefer Richard

lel e celeb shit
who?

the worst part is that they crank settings up to ULTRA+++ in every game without testing framerates of different presets. I think they're solely responsible for the meme of everyone dumping their 970's for 1070's just to play at 1080p

Thought that was Techmoan for a moment.

He had to take a break from it because he was busy. Next episode is Donkey Kong Country on the 17th.

It's coming this week

Techmoan is great don't bully him.

Dem dollarydoos

Ah, noice.

I really get annoyed how this old autistic fuck forces his hands gestures. They never sync with whatever he's saying.

It's like someone handed him a book about how to talk in public, using the hands and so, and he just doesn't know how to make it naturally.

Davirgin vs Wichad

*releases CPU and GPU benchmarks weeks after everyone else*

Don't bully Richard pls. He's one of us!

Wait a second, I thought the guy was over his 60's already.

It's a bit of a bummer how quite apparent all the Microsoft shilling is, and there's only a few places where it's justified; Hitman for example is clearly superior on XBOX over the PS4 Pro, likewise with Final Fantasy XV.

But a lot of games like Assassin' Creed Origins look almost identical because of the in game checker-boarding Ubisoft uses across all of their titles, so 1440p to 2160p looks fucking the same, even on PC, and yet we had like 10 videos on the game saying dick all.

Anyway, Jon's the best, and everything he does actually feels honest, legit, and well-researched. None of the other guys come even close, and only his videos actually deserves to be as long as they do, because he actually puts the work in to have good info in every one of those minutes.

Buy a reel to reel machine.

Exactly
This is not a e-celeb thread.

>used to test frame rate in a lot of games without autistic commentary
I don't remember that, and I won't say to listening to journalists who, for fucking once, actually do their job and know their shit a little bit when it comes to graphic tech.

>so 1440p to 2160p looks fucking the same, even on PC
lol no. It runs at 1440p on Ps4 Pro and closer to 3k on Xbone X most of the time. A native 4k image always looks smoother, crisper, and clearer than any blurry upscaling shit

...

>likewise with Final Fantasy XV
but that's wrong, the game has 20fps drops on Xobx One X
The FFXV Xbox patch is trash. Other games on the xbox one x don't have 1080p mode so they run worse compared to PS4pro which maintains better frame rate

>and closer to 3k
Your ''closer to 3K'' is actually 1720~1800p compared to 1440p~1620p on PS4Pro. The difference is minimal and you can only notice very up close
The difference between static 1440p and 1800p is minimal and not worth since it lowers the frame rate

But that's wrong? Just the top of my head

You couldn't even read the rest of the sentence before replying? Is English not your first language or something?

It does have those drops, and Jon outlined those weird sleep mode bugs, but the framepacing issues on the PS4 Pro version are nightmarish in the "High" mode. It makes it look like it's running at a lower framerate than it is because it just keeps dropping frames.

Also the Xbox One X version does have whatever checkboarding function that's going on, and as such, the image looks sharper than that on the PS4 Pro. I was fucking surprised at how much the checkerboarding reduced the sharpness of the image, but those captures don't lie.

>the image looks sharper than that on the PS4 Pro
The difference is unnoticeable unless 300x zoom
Besides you have to trust Ubisoft, EA and western devs to make these patches which always result dynamic resolutions 10~15% above PS4Pro at the cost of frame rate because they are lazy to optimize

>he difference is unnoticeable unless 300x zoom
I agree with that, most of the time. It's just in the very specific cast of FFXV, PS4 Pro uses a checkboarding technique, and XBOX does not, which results in a sharper image, even if they're actually pretty close to the same base resolution.

Fuggin love techmoan, lives like 20 mins from me wish we could get a drink
