Which Makes More Sense?
Which Makes More Sense?
Playstation most aesthetic
Xbox best feeling
Nintendo always a mess
>Playstation most aesthetic
Retard
Protip: They're all the same.
They're all exactly the same. Imbecile.
...
You need to leave
I always thought Nintendo's made more sense than Xbox since it counted from your thumb rather than from the center of the controller.
Playstation.
>The circle and cross represent "yes" and "no," respectively; the triangle symbolizes a point of view and the square is equated to a sheet of paper there to be used to access menus
Gamecube
I hate Xbox in general but Xbox makes the most sense honestly. A being green means GO, B being red means STOP. Playstation doesn't make any sense. Why would the X be Yes and the O be No?
Lol sonybro retardation at its finest
Shame about your shit taste
>there are people ITT who have to look at the controllers to know what button their fingers are touching
The one that is four buttons arranged in a diamond.
Xbox makes the most sense.
Left to right A B - X Y
The cross and circle would be inversed if that was the case, retard
Not nintendo.
I'm fucking mad every time an onscreen prompt in Zelda says "press A" to pick up item and I press B because that's where the A button belongs
It is in Japan and early ps1 titles like FFVII.
Burgers couldn't wrap their heads round it so they had to change it for them.
no it's O has one line, X has two, box has four and pyramid has three. so 1 2 4 3. fully logical
Why can't they all just have the same setup? Why change shit and confuse the people?
...
O = maru = japanese checkmark = accept
X = batsu = japanese X = decline
That's why most older imported japanese games had you do menu selections with the circle button.
Nintendo did it first.
Somehow it's wrong because retarded amerifats wanted to press X to confirm and O to cancel.
This.
PlayStation used to be my go-to for button feel and layout but ever since going strictly PC I've started getting used to XInput/360 layout on my Logitech F310 even though I still refer to the buttons by their PlayStation counterpart. I seriously hope nobody actually liked the chinese feel of the Dreamcast buttons though.
Someone needs to lossify this.
which ever one you ___like the most
Say what you want about GameCube but button presses are immediately obvious every time.
...
I understand if the button labels can be confusing, but how can you not tell if you're pressing the top/bottom/left/right button?
wasd
>inb4 esdf
no nintendo.
stop trying to ""FIX"" things
when you press X it marks the selection you have highlighted
I meant in more of a quicktime event context.
Also you know immediately what button is confirm. Big green button means yes, small red means no.
SNES is most ergo
As much as I like the PlayStation buttom aesthetic, if they really wanted to do circle for confirm and x for cancel, they should've switched colors. Red is usually more associated with cancel.
Also, people tend to keep their finger closer to the X button so they can flip through menus faster.
*pushes X
Still the most intuitive controller.
...
Nintendo keeps changing it to fuck with us.
awwww yeah
...
playstation is the best because it fits the whole globe
everyone have x, square, circle and triangle in their culture
not everyone have ABXY
Japanese people can say A, B, X and Y and they sound nothing alike.
Say what you want but the Wiimote and nunchuck was a good controller.
the Circle is an eraser
But the symbols have different meanings.
i.e. Cross = No, Circle = Yes on Japanese consoles
Xbox one
doesnt matter
i think the reason we have X as yes is because its the closest button and yes is pressed the most
Playstation.
Simply because you won't get confused which button you have to actually press when playing thier games.
If a game tells you to press Y you may fuck up if you play both Snes and Xbox.
But you won't fuck up pressing Triangle or Cross when prompted to. It is easily distinctive.
the debate is about which symbols belong where, brainlets. try to keep up.
No, it wasn't. Not by any imagination. It's an embarrassment.
ABXY would be fine if retarded companies didnt feel the need to swap the positions about so they can pretend they did't rip off another controller
PRESS TRIANGLE is always gonna be the same top button
PRESS X will be a 50/50 cluster fuck depending on if you have nintendo or xbox muscle memory
Also when they have prompts for Z L R Y X buttons they also include the shape of the button and angle it is at on the controller. So you can remember what to press these buttons due to Four reasons. Color, Angle, Shape, and Letter.
Other controllers tend to be the same Size and shape of ABXY buttons in different colors and Positions in a diamond.
It's also why every Japanese version of a game Has X decline and O accept. Imported Gundam games for PS4 and it is still X decline and O Accept.
>It's also why every Japanese version of a game Has X decline and O accept
that's literally what I just said.
Xbox layout makes the most sense. X is on horizontal side, Y is on vertical side. A is in most egonomical position. B is the correct context sensitive placement position.
Dreamcast/Xbox
You just insinuated that it was just older imports. Japan still uses it as such and has never stopped.
here's your controller bro
Here comes a new challenger.
The original Xbox controller was the best controller I've ever used to be honest.
what I insinuated is that you don't see it anymore in the west even when the game has japanese origins.
early metal gear vs modern metal gear
...
口 should've been 四
Not sure how 土 correlates with cross (十 would've been a better choice).
>not realizing that the A and X buttons are closest to the control stick, the same way that A and X buttons are the closest to the control stick on xbox controllers
It takes like maybe 30 minutes to get used to it because it works roughly the same.
>the A and X buttons are closest to the control stick
m8 what are you on about?
>babaduke spook
>good
Far better colors than the North American SNES, but the North American controller has concave buttons for X and Y which are really nice.
Nintendo because they all make equal amount of sense because the whole thing is arbitrary anyway but Nintendo did it first so that is officially the standard.
Nintendo did it first and they did it wrong so everyone else had to clean up their mess
Anything but Wii U
For some reason I thought user was talking about playing games on PC using a wiiU pro controller and getting inputs mixed up because the on-screen prompt didn't match the controller setup.
I must have brain problems I guess. Not as bad as someone who can't grok a controller layout, but problems nonetheless.
i really like those white and black buttons, it's aesthetic.
SNES because it was first
I don't fucking care which is it, but I would skullfuck every singe fucker who thought they should be different.
but OH WAIT IT GETS WORSE
ON NINTENDO THE YES/NO, or OK/BACK IS LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE, at least on ps/xbox the bottom one is the yes, right one is no.
It's incredibly annoying and disorienting when switching between consoles.
at least on pc you can configure them any way you want.
pc wins again
>the placement of arbitrary symbols matter
A shitty thread died for this shittier thread
And longer cords.
>Nintendo always a mess
I wonder who is behind this post.
You're missing the most important one.
that's 士 dumbass
which has longer cords?
>Virgin Primaries instead of the Chad Purple
I must commit seppuku now. Still doesn't make sense.
>when you realize the nintendo ones are backwards because japs read right to left
>when you realize the korean ones are abstract because those clever gooks realized if they used shapes it wouldnt matter which way they went
Manlets don't like this controller.
Japanese games still do O= Yes and X= No but the PS4 can invert the XO function in the system menu so you can change it to the correct American functions if you like.
Does that invert it in-game too?
Is Sup Forums beyond retarded at this point?
The Wiimote + nunchuck were designed to have not enough buttons so devs always needed to map buttons to waggling for any controller scheme worth shit. And that's only the biggest problem of the controller, not the only one.
it does in DOAXVB but it doesn't God Eater but that's an older game.
No.
snes because that's what I know best
