Thinking Majora's Mask is better than OoT is a hipster opinion for autistic faggots who don't want to admit OoT is the better Zelda game just because of the fact that it's too popular of an opinion and they want to be different and cool. Stop fooling yourselves. Fedora's Mask will never be as good as Ocarina of Time.
Thinking Majora's Mask is better than OoT is a hipster opinion for autistic faggots who don't want to admit OoT is the...
I agree but unironically. MM's NPCs are good but the dungeons suck and the rehashed assets are distracting.
Majoras mask is harder, better written, better story, better looking, more gameplay options.
Masterquest is the best oot anyway,
Fedora cuck spotted. The world design in OoT is objectively superior to anything in Fedora's Mask
Majora's Mask introduced fetch quests into the series. Collecting eggs and the entirety of the Well segment with the Gibdos was trash. Compared to that Ocarina of Time doesn't have a single mandatory fetch quest in its main story and the pacing is superior too.
Majora's Mask has new gameplay mechanics such as a playable Deku Scrub, Goron and Zora. All with unique movement and abilities. Fierce Deity Link has a different sword, but controls exactly like Adult Link from Ocarina of Time and is far more restricted in use.
The 24 Masks in the game are basically a huge expansion of the Happy Mask Shop sidequest from Ocarina of Time, and the villain is just a Skull Kid, like the one that you give the Skull Mask to in Ocarina of Time.
Majora's Mask has far more sidequests, much more character development and half as many dungeons. The 3-Day cycle mechanic is pretty cool.
Overall, Majora's Mask is a great game. But it heavily recycles assets and ideas, and wasn't as good at the time of it's release as Ocarina of Time was.
I personally think MM is more complex and has really interesting storytelling, but also think OoT is the better game since it does everything it does so well for it's time and it doesn't try too hard to be mysterious.
Also the ending is far better.
>equating anything at all about Zelda to hipsters
Lol get over yourself
Majora's Mask has a better aesthetic/tone and way better characters.
But it's dungeons are weaker and it's a shorter game. It was made in a hurry and is a bit of an outlier from the 3D Zeldas because it was released so soon after OoT.
Story wise I'd say they're different but equal, I like Majora's Mask more than OoT.
BotW, MM and Link's Awakening are my favorite Zelda games.
>Better Looking
They look the exact fucking same, they even use the same assets lmao.
Unironically agree. OoT is superior because it's world is better designed. You could go from Goron City to Lost Woods, from Lost Woods to Zora's River, from Zora's Domain to Lake Hylia and from Gerudo valley to Lake Hylia without ever having to go through Hyrule Field. Majora's Mask had Ikana Valley and the Southern Swamp and even then it felt like an afterthough. The rest of the areas were totally separated from each other.
>better dungeons, better characterization, doesn’t treat you like a retard like Navi does, better tone/atmosphere, four forms to play as not counting Fierce deity, better overworld, just under 2 dozen masks with which you can do cool shit, stray fairies
What’s the point of that when you can just warp right when you encounter a statue? And besides the fact that it’s more compact than Ocarina makes it better and more streamlined, everything is circled around the main town. Ocarina’s field is just big and empty and pointless.
>muh empty open field
Are you being a nigger on purpose? The interconnected areas in Ocarina of Time give a better sense of progression since you can only access some of those shortcuts after getting a new item. It ties perfectly with the entire design of the game which also relies on gating the progression through items you ignorant faggot
...
That just makes Hyrule field even more pointless then. The game is rewarding you by encouraging to skip it, then it’s not worth going through.
>But it's dungeons are weaker
Nah. Outside of the Water Temple, which I personally think is pretty decent all things considered, the other 3 dungeons are largely on a higher level of quality to OoT's dungeons, they all do a better job making use of the fact that there's a Z axis than OoT.
...
Only if you're one of those faggots that get triggered by an empty batch of space in a game. It gives you an option to skip the area, a choice. Something Majora's Mask lacks because its world design feels like it was designed by the fucking B team.
>Also the ending is far better.
They're the exact same ending. Link walks away from the people he saved who don't even recognize that he saved them. Only difference is that in Majora's Mask you develop a far more personal connection to those people.
But majora's mask had the better story, the ability to play as 5 different characters, awesome side quests/temples and a boss that isn't fucking ganon.
Spotted the cucks
Alright.
How is this bait? OoT is considered to be the better game. Majora's Mask fags are so pathetic and they get easily triggered whenever someone doesn't suck its dick and points out the flaws in the game.
There are people like that, but I still think majora is better, but it is really weird, cuz ocarina feels like a real solid zelda game, and majora doesnt feel like one, it feels like another game but with zelda mechanics. I love majora, the creepy feeling of letting everyone die, do your shit in a certain time, the story, everything is great, but like I said, it doesnt feel like a zelda game, ocarina does
MM is superior because the mask mechanics were interesting and fun at the time. I liked talking to people and testing out their different reactions. It was also denser and less friendly than OoT. Especially when I was first exploring the city, it seemed that there were so many secrets being kept from me, people who looked important telling me to go away and so on.
Today, however, I think Zelda gameplay is really bad. I haven't played anything since Windwaker because the lack of progression, the general ease of the unchanged-since-2002 combat system, and other factors leave me with no reason other than brand loyalty or nostalgia, neither of which I have much of, to play the game.
Or maybe I like it because it's better.
OP is the most triggered poster in this thread.
>REEEEEE YOU BETTER NOT FUCKING LIKE MAJORAS MASK REEEEEEE
You're a fedora's mask fag. You're already a cuck
Better than oot
literally S E E T H I N G
Ur the cuck.
>Fedoras Mask
MM is a bottom tier Zelda game. It doesn't help that the game attracts the worst kind of fanboys and timeline fags due to the "lore"

Saying MM > OOT has become such a normal opinion among the fanbase that your not really a hipster for saying it.
Nowadays, the "hipster opinion" is liking SS or thinking it's the best 3D game
>But majora's mask had the better story
The story was save this world from the fucking moon. That's all there is to that. At least OoT had a couple of plot twists.
>there will never be a third game to OoT/MM Link's story
>we'll never fight Ganondorf with a sword like that SpaceWorld tech demo
>Link will never reunite with Navi
Save the world from skull kid.
Vs ganondorfl fails again plus time shit.
who cares you stupid fgt
I will always like MM more than OoT. It's been my favorite game since I was 7 or 8.
However, if someone asked me which I recommend for them to play, I'd say OoT.
It's the staple adventure game in my mind.
They're my #1 and #2 favorite games.
