I love building comfy villages with separate huts

First for vamps sucking on my pumped-full of blood-dick!

Just kidding please don't kill me,
my blood is precious.

Is there any good mods that add more materials / ores to mine? I want a bit more variety. (repostin' because thread died)

What in the actual fuck happened man!?

>man hunting animals

classic

Yes.

Google is your friend, there is a shit ton of mods like that.

neato

Alright, I'll take a look on the workshop later

Somehow world gen always looks better when you generate less percentage of the planet.

has anyone found a way to download shit from steam workshop yet?

I don't care if it's dumb and inefficient, this town looks comfy as fuck.

Buy the game

tiberiumrim

tell me what you want and ill upload it

My colony has improved since the OP pic.

That was when I was starting to play Rimworld again, you can see all kinds of retarded decisions.
>Wooden walls
>No defences at all
>People are both unarmed and unarmored
>No traps
>Fighting manhunter pack without a plan
So I decided fuck it, and started new colony. Results which you can see here.

Ocean landing zones when?

Is ther any mod that adds stockpile limit?

I mean for exasmple. I want to get medicine into prisoner hospital so that doctors can get to it easily, but I have to set it to critical so it is prioritised before medical stockpile, but I don't want my faggots to haul to 75 medicine a stockpile every time it is used. Like 40 would be enough.

Tried to clean things up in the freezer area and it cut the room I have to store things by like 50% lol. But I prefer it this way instead of just having things on the ground. I'm making another freezer in the top right of the growing area, specifically for raw drugs. Playing on a lower difficulty this time so I have been lazy about making the killbox but you can see it starting to take shape I guess. Half the year is winter so that's why there is so much hay.

>its the manhunter chinchilas pack episode

you can't hide what you did user.

SWAMPED.
But in truth it's fun to play around all those unconstructible areas. The defenses are apain in the ass though.

What seed? How do?

Seed was Nuadha, default settings

>dwarf fortress for brainlets
fuck off shills

You've only been settling in for 5 days and this guy comes in. Pigs out on all the wild animals on the map and will soon decide that your colonists are part of the buffet. What do ?

Mod is Cthullu "something" for those asking.

Ty man... I am gonna play it on my next world

tornados can fuck right off

could you dropbox this one for me?

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=839849806

>Install Rim of Madness expansion pack
>Turn on lovecraft storyteller
>Rich explorer
>Set up autoturrets
>Hide in a mountain
>Suddenly, turrets start shooting
>Shooting at nothing
>But it makes pools of blood
>Another burst
>The pools get closer
>They stop firing
>No corpse
>mfw

what do, Sup Forums?

Burn the entire area. It's the only way to be sure.

pray for your life

user I'm on a tundra.

Also there's sanity-destroying mist now.

Snow burns

Is it the Mist from Beyond event? You can end it early if you kill all the things hiding in the mist.
Nah, you can't they will just keep spawning
Boy do I love seeing 50 Riesling Bacchuses and 100 Hakujas each playthrough, these patreon name additions are really great

10/10 comfy user.

Now you just need castle like walls and different quarters to the city.

One for crops, one for homes, crafting ect...

...

Do they come with sweet custom backgrounds that are totally cool and not lame at all, like Darklight "Umbra" Nighthawk, the Cursed Child?

Ctrl+S for easy spoiler tags, nerd.

>New colony with a ton of new mods
>I know the mods are going to help me out and make things easier, so I decide to crank up the difficulty to extreme Randy to try and counter balance it
>Winter just ends, get a mechanoid raid with 1 scyther and 2 centipedes
>Think it's going to be easy, I have a sniper rifle and a couple simple armor helmets/armor vests from raids
>The very first shot the syther shoots hits my best colonist hiding behind cover in the neck killing them instantly through armor vest + helmet
>The second shot decimates my 2nd guy's liver causing instant death
>The third shot blows out my third guy's brains since he doesn't have a helmet
>My last guy gets incapacitated on the last shot

Is this RNG bullshit or is it just extreme difficulty bullshit?

I won't lie. Part of the inspiration for such bases came from this picture.

i forgot how to play this game

Really bad luck

How well does the Lovecraft mod work with the Medieval mod?

Honestly this shit turns me off so fucking bad. It completely ruins my immersion to see the same name pop up multiple times. Is there any mods to turn this garbage off? I want randomized names damnit

Thanks, first thing I usually do is put up an outer wall and go from there

How well does bullet fares againest sanity shattering cosmic horrors? Do you really want to take on skyscraper size psychic worms with bows and arrows?

post your layouts for your workshops, hospitals, research stations, etc. etc.

kitchen+dining room+ fridge layout is especially important but i can never get that shit the way i want it

Just a normal colony. no hidden cults sacrificing prisoners here.

Interesting.
How I do it is basically chose a starting point, usually a big stockpile of steel is built first, then buildings get built naturally as there demand for them, wall gets built almost at the end when I am comfortably sure I tucked in everything I feel is at most urgency and is required to colony.

It's all in your head
It's all in your head
It's in all head your
in It's head your all
in Its hell you are

it'll be like the bible

David killed Goliath using a sling
You can kill Eldritch horrors using bullets
Like poetry

If I pick peaceful, will anything at all happen? I want to make a comfy village while I learn the ropes for my first game. But also want to learn the random stuff a but too.
Guess I can just pick basebuilder.

Does vampirism generation go up as they level or is it something that stays forever?

Honestly there should be a mod that removes backstories and names then have a gigantic list of random names to make it more like Dorf Fort, so you have to inspect a colonist and see what their predispositions are then train them accordingly.

The game needs more medieval-esque mods.

Rate my first base after a long hiatus, anons

This is still my most successful colony so far.

I just got this game what should I be focusing on building and researching?

Here's my base

...

uh, is it time to panic?
gun turrets and if a vent is nearby geothermal.

This one feels comfy.

Serious question, not looking for shitflinging or anything. How does this compare to DF?

Turkeys on honeymoon.

The worst thing you can do is pray and invoke an answer in that Godless backwater shitheap.

What's a good set-up for mountain-entrance defenses? I'm planning on moving my power generators inside, so everything important will be inside and away from harm, and I only have a single entrance.

Some events are deactivated on basebuilder and the training wheels it gives you are ridiculous. You can always change story teller and difficulty though if you feel that it's way too easy. I'd say start at least on Some challenge and go from there.

You do know you can buy the game directly from the devs and not just from steam?

and if you do so you can still link it to your steam account

DF is on a more grand and fast paced scale. DF is for making a giant, sprawling castle with acres of food and hundreds of dwarves. You fight massive, monstrous beings and even the denizens of hell itself. The goal is to just play the game for the sake of playing the game. If you fail, it is your fault.
Rimworld is much smaller and tighter focused. You need to make efficient designs or else it will be the death of your colony. Having more than 10 colonists is a miracle. You fight other humans and the occasional bug or robot. There doesn't really seem to be any goal - you can't simulate a fortress like you would in DF, but there's no real end-goal except for building a ship which is pointless. The longer your colony lasts the harder it is to survive. The game is more about mitigating what the AI throws at you rather than playing the game and enjoying it. If you fail, it could be because of your fault, but a good chance is that it's because the AI wanted you to fail.
tl;dr
>Dwarf Fortress is fun and grandiose
>Rimworld vanilla isn't very fun and kinda lackluster, the game itself seems conflicted on what it wants to be and how it wants to play, but mods fix it

Less depth but a lot more accessible. That's the main difference I've seen.

shit son you need to plan ahead

4 tiles walls made of granite or limestone if you have it, alongside wathever turrets you have, hell is hard to tell you if you don't post your mod order.

Plus the infestation event seems to exist in order to make it "not dorf fortress."

>designate comfort prisoner
>not even the rapist will touch them
such is life

do they have a high melee skill?

>That feel when you outmortar the siegers.

T

But how?

Turn on wild mode.

Options>Mod Options

Shrekt.

I need more names and flag suggestions

10/10
super comf

same here

...

The lion rampant
I fucking dare you

Well, this is how my colony ends. Cassandra threw a volcanic winter and a fallout on me, then followed it up with a raid about a week later. They kidnapped who they couldn't kill, our last stand in the keep was more of a "cower in the corner and cover each other"

holy shit this ones my favorite, im trying this next time!

recommend me some mods pls

what mod lets you comfort?

Uh oh

Bust out the miniguns and line up

Are there any mods that let me make a small colony? Like about the size of the "incident" maps when you're traveling. I'd love to make a bunch of small, specialized colonies rather than one big one.

...

You don't really need a mod for that, just split your colonies with caravans and make them settle. There is an option of max colonies. I think 100 is max.

dont do it user, I had a gazelle migration

they raped my hunting team of 6 and then broke down the door of my base to get everyone else.

What bgm playlist do you go with? I've run the New Vegas well dry at this point.

Based.

I go for indie qt 3.14 youtubers with guitars trying to hit the 100 subscribers.

I know I can make multiple colonies, but I want to make them on small maps so my computer doesn't chug when I'm playing on 2 or more maps.
