The people who made the witcher
Being from Poland definitely helps, but I was thinking acting like them is also enough
guys who made witcher
those marshmallows don't look so good
Anything that leads to a smoother gameplay experience.

Hope you enjoy /r/TheLounge, my fellow Redditors!
quality of animations, transitions between animations, environmental textures, sound design (eg acoustics), alt-techs, brevity of loading times, no crashing, size of save-files, font rendering and style, environmental detail
maybe some other shit idk
Attention to detail in all things, especially in things like quality of life features, things that are far from vital but them being included are above and beyond.
Kurwa
The devs putting a fuckton of work into it and it shows. Very few to no glitches, no loose ends plotwise, good playability, just feeling finished in general.
Man that looks like pretty tasty candy
fuck polish
give immersion
>tfw nine polish pilots flying spitfires burned screaming and died horrifically in your home country but everyone still hates the polish
The dev team has an idea for everything you might to try to do
There is this zombie source engine game called contagion (that is sadly dead as fuck) I got for like 2€. When it rained in campaigns, if you went under a roof the rain would make sounds depending of the type of surface it was hitting. For example a small scaffold would make tiny metallic sounds, but if you went inside a building, you'd hear indoor ambient in front of you and the rain hitting the streets behind you, with a really smooth transition
You could see your legs if you looked down and if there was a puddle of water, it would display your reflection, alongside the world's. It's just really impressive for a source engine game
A game that the developers clearly played through and through again.
Yeah, allow me to truly feel like I'm in a world where I literally can't say no (yes)
>size of save-files
I would love to know how we went from an 8kb save file in FFVII to a 630mb save file in FFXV.
nerd
no clue. i only noticed this was a problem when playing Divinity OS
>144mB for 15 files
what the heck.
How well every part of the games gameplay, UI, and music interact cohesively
see: persona 5, the most polished game so far this generation
All food looks good with a lil spit shine
Meanwhile we got shit like Bethesda's games with variable 8-20mb files that save the state of a fuckload of NPCs/Objects positions, making other games look pale in comparison.
...
fucking kurwas
way too glitchy
it's seems you would know best.
The writing really falls apart halfway through, but in terms of gameplay and music and virtually everything else, yeah. P5 is clean as fuck, it was really refreshing to play through after the slew of garbage this year.

when all the fundamental mechanics work correctly and become an afterthought so you can fully enjoy the story and gameplay. basically it means no bugs.
Blizzard.
Blizzard often takes other people's games and gives them a bunch of polish and makes them not garbage.
Starcraft and Warcraft are the best RTS games of their time. Diablo lead to a plethora of clones, as did Hearthstone, and Overwatch.
Hell, WoW just took Everquest and made it not garbage. The video game industry then spent a decade trying to do something better than Blizzard but failing. And because no one else makes a good themepark MMO apart from Square (and even then, WoW has some better things than FFXIV).
And with Overwatch, Blizz just took MOBAs to their natural conclusion, despite also making a proper MOBA game. Now people are trying to beat Blizzard at that.
Blizzard is the best example of a company which just makes a good example of someone else's game.

polish=giving a shit about what you do
Polish is all the little things you find that add just that little bit of extra. Basically things where you can see the devs actually liked working on the game enough to spend time doing small additions that don't really affect the gameplay
what are you sperging on about retard
Overwatch might be polished but it is hot garbage
The H key is right next to the N key, so I'll forgive your mispelling.
It is indeed not garbage. I agree. It's certainly not the best game, but it's the best example of it's subgenre of FPS. Give it a few years and someone else will make a good title.

How did you guys miss the joke
it's fun for some 100 hours at least
I agree with this. The little touches that smooth things out can really make a big difference in the long run. The Free Space bag and extra organizing options in Pokemon Black and White 2 is one example of it. The normal bag got so filled up and for some reason the extra storage on the PC was missing in the last few entries. Having the Free Space bag cleared up so much of the Item section that scrolling through the latter to replace held items was a total breeze and greatly appreciated. Sometimes cutting down on menus and load can be a sign of polish too. I'm playing DMC3 and when doing the secret missions, I noticed that if I fail I'm kicked back to the main area and need to click on the challenge node again. A more polished experience would be simply asking if I wanted to retry after failing the bonus mission so it only needs to reload the same room. Currently it reloads the main area then it needs to load the special room again each time I want to retry.
I literally got bored during the beta after a few hours
very lazy an uninspired post. 3/10
not reminiscent of bethesda

It is a art.

the starcraft remastered launch was complete trash and is only just now starting to improve after 4 months. old 3rd party launchers made by korean NEETs had 100x more functionality than what blizzard has released so far.
blizzard polish doesnt exist anymore
dirty and they like saunas for some reason
