I don't really know why, I think it's mix of brand loyalty. PS2 was one of majors consoles here and it was easy af to pirate so many people owned it and it is a good DVD player as well and was never that expensive.
PS3 was expensive, but people did bought it as well because gaming PC at time were seen as waste and everyone thought console were superior.
PS4 while still expensive are much more common and alot of people are wowed by PSVR tech demos in shopping malls.
Xbox 360 never gained much traction here nor did Xbox One. Even though Xbox 360 was more easily "Moddable".
Nintendo doesn't have any sort of presence here at all. Only place I've seen their stuff is at Grey Markets and Amazon, and even then the console and it's games are more expensive than PS4 means not many would buy them.

I dated a Polish girl for a couple of years (Amerikanski). She was pretty casual, played Civ and maybe the occasional hack and slash.
