Was a good character at first but basically became Uchikoshi's waifu/special and cool mary sue. Even before the ztd shitshow vlr made her basically into some cruel god figure who became cold due to all the suffering and world saving planning shit

she was a sociopath since 999 desu

Nah when I first played it I thought so too but now it seemed like she was just desperate to do anything to save herself, forced by the fear of ceasing to exist because paradox to commit whatever crime was necessary from her vision. The only real cruel thing she directly did was murder the people who captured her in the first nonary game, and that can be justified with wanting revenge. She didn't even put real bombs in any of the others.

She was a cutie in 999 but the karma of the universe obviously caught up with her in the sequels.

While I loved 999, being forced to play through every bad end before you could get to the lengthy endings was bullshit. It made me hate Clover and some of the other characters.

I might play VLR now. I finished 999, then was obviously spoiled by that scene and didn't want to play. If that's the reason why, I could understand why she would have nothing but murderous rage, since it could probably come back to kill her in some way.

I don't even know what to think of her anymore to be honest. I liked her in 999 at least.

Akane was a great character in 999 and VLR, but it's like Uchi completely forgot she's actually kind of a sociopath and secretly a terrible person when he wrote ZTD and just made her generically waifish with a crazy streak when her boyfriend dies.

If you played 999 and VLR might as well finish the series. Prepare to get disapoointed.

Set your expectations really low and play it for the stupid plot and characters. PC preferred, the 3DS version looks like dog shit not that the game is particularly pretty to look at

Uchi originally had a different story in mind for the third chapter, but after so many years, he felt "Tired" of the story he already knew so he wrote a new one, and that new one ended up being dog shit.

Worth it for the memes I guess, and to complete the package, but it's absolutely not a satisfying conclusion or anything - in fact, the canon epilogue screws over the whole thing from the beginning.

It's fucking garbage, Uchi wanted to make money so he copied telltale games, focused on the aspects that made 999 popular outside of japan, removed important plot elements so people could jump into this game without playing the other ones, didn't even write most of the character interactions and then told the fans to please buy the game that was only made possible thanks to them and that it was made for them

Pirate it, Uchikoshi doesn't deserve a single cent after betraying his fans to make extra money

I haven't pirated a pc game in like forever. (I can find rom and iso of console games though), where do I find the install of this?

Legitimately bad. Switching from the VN-style of presentation to Telltale-style garbage with no budget was a massive mistake, there's a bunch of unresolved plotpoints from VLR for no good reason, the puzzle rooms are a take back from VLR, and the writing & storyline is bad.

3DS version is garbage and an obvious downport, Vita or PC should be fine.
