Because it was a bad game idiot

It's just fans of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 being salty

Because it is.

Because if a sequel lacks ANY feature from a previous game in the series, that's the feature which made the previous game(s) good.
This is the reason why all new Bethesda games will forever be "bad".

Its world, characterers and story is not interesting and the game suffers from long loading times, making it a frustrating experience

Gunplay and modding is good though

It's a bad rpg, a bad "fallout" game
Not a bad game per se

"oldskool" fallout children, "I PLAYED NEW VAGOS" types. sad cunts.

grown adults had to learn to get over fallout not being fallout from 3. NV kids think they are still clinging to some superiority, even though that game is terrible.

HAWHDAShdfhyasdfhupuio;hasdffbgdsahukfbvgdjln;hfgdbsu;iklhl;jghnfdsr

This. NMA and RPGCodex are the two most sad, pathetic websites in existence.

Man everyone is always talking about sex mods for Beth games but does anyone work on mods that just add more lewd dialogue?

it's boring

It has some really low production values. You know it's a AAA game because of the renown of the series and it's developers but, while playing it, it feels more like a budget title to me. Mechanics are half-assed, animation glitches are absolutely everywhere, performance is pretty bad despite the subpar graphics, has less quests and interactivity than the previous game, etc. It has some nice additions like the gun mods and standard FPS shootan but everything else about it is so mediocre. Even mods have barely made the experience better. I've probably started 4 different save files since release gradually as new updates and mods came out and have yet to bother finishing the game. The longest I've played which was up to having to go into the Glowing Sea or something was on my first playthrough. Every other time, the game loses my interest even before I get to Diamond City.

>have to join the Brotherhood to fuck Danse
>even after he leave, he constantly drones on about how much he loves them and their ideals
>has absolutely no issue gunning them down when he so much as sees a BoS soldier a mile away

I really liked it without mods, the first 2 dlc without nukacola will play it again when there are relevant mods in the comunity

It's mediocre really. It's a decent open-world shooter marred by terrible RPG mechanics in a series known for good ones. I'd still place it as much better than Fallout 3, though.

Actually, most people who liked Fallout: New Vegas also like Fallout 4.

Most Fallout 4 haters seem to be Fallout 3 core fans.

Loved Fallout 3 and played a lot Fallout 4, liked it

cant kill the nigger preston or whatever its name was

>oh boy the railroad sure sounds like a badass faction
>first thing I see is a nigress pointing at me with a minigun
>the rest of the faction ended up being a group of rebel special snowflakes
>kill them all and nuke the wasteland

>it was my fallout game
nice try OP

Its so boring and the story is complete ass. Do we really need to go into detail or did you just create this thread for (You)s? fatass.

>bare minimum of modern gunplay
>awful weapon design
>most weapons not even fun to use since they look and sound like toys
>Legendary weapons existing and mostly replacing Unique items
>a small handful of memorable questlines like Silver Shroud or the USS Constitution
>Worst perks Bethesda ever designed, and that is actually saying something
>boring +damage perks are all over the place and just half-assed shit like looting more ammo
FO4 could be fixed with better perks, WAY more base weapons, and something to make the gunplay a little more fun. For starters, make enemies actually capable of killing you or more mobile

decent gunplay, terrible RPG mechanics, really bad story and almost no real choice in quests aside from which faction to side with.

Also suffers the problem most open world games suffer which is just bland design. Each quest feels very similar, buildings are copy/pasted, and nothing feels particularly polished. Everything feels "passable," but not well designed

It's a decent game, but I have zero interest in replaying it. And from what I hear of the DLC, it's trash.

Pretty much this, I killed them when I took the courser chip there.

>>most weapons not even fun to use since they look and sound like toys

Not to mention the entire fucking arsenal of useless pipe rifles that I used for like 15 seconds before being disgusted.

The amount of essential NPCs is so fucking dumb. If I want to kill everyone I should be able to, even if it fails the quests. Isn't that what Beth games are all about? Freedom? Fuck, in Honest Hearts you can kill Follows-Chalk as soon as you see him which fails all of the quests in the entire DLC but you're still given that option.

It's an open world game, so the world itself should be a key selling point but it lacks any sort of immersion or atmosphere. There are no memorable or even likeable characters and the poor animations and shallow conversation system only exacerbate this. The story tries to force an emotional response to things that have no relation to anything the player has done while playing. Every system feels like a bad mod, buggy and inconsistent. The RPG elements are so stripped down that they may as well not be there.

Overall, it lacks anything that makes it distinctive other than decent concept art that implies an atmosphere and environment that simply don't translate at all in the game. If "atmosphere" and "immersion" are too buzzwordy for you, then without them what does Fallout 4 have left to offer? Mediocre, janky FPS mechanics?

World, characters, and story are mostly shit.

Shooting mechanics and enemy AI are potato tier.

Only thing the game has going for it is the Fallout name and the base building is decent, but still only good when modded.

Fallout 4 is a 10/10 game though.

why the fuck is every single female character so smug in this game?

The dlc Far harbor is what it should've been. It's the only decent thing in fallout 4.

Because it is.

Fallout 4 is awesome..I don't use VATS because the shooting is vastly improved. I love the game and I guess you complainers are the people who will never be happy and probably voted for HILLARY too.

I thought it was alright to be honest. Just wait for Obsidian's Fallout 4: [insert Western city here] which will basically have all the same system of the previous game but heavily improved.
But one good thing is they solved dlc to make it actually good.

My only real issues is the city choice, pretty similiar setting to fallout 3, also the sea was just a waste of time and most of the city outskirts were empty not much going on

Not Curie. She was sweet. The rest felt like shitty sassy characters that were meant to feel "empowering".

...

Because it's a bad Fallout rpg-wise compared to obsidian's fallout, despite being a good game.

My nigger. I'm fucking gay but I wifed her because she is so sweet and pure and I need to protect her.

It's not bad but neither good
It's a 6.9/10 game in my shit opinion

0/10 baitpost. no effort. apply yourself and try harder, newfaggot.

give me examples going from the very first Bethesda game to the the very last

It's not Brotherhood of Steel

>Because it was a bad game idiot
Did you mean "bad game for idiots"?

Not a bad game just a bad "rpg" if you can even call it that

Lack of RP in the RPG. It was a decent game the mechanics were there. But it forced you down one path. You were forced to be a good guy and into majority of actions you made just sometimes you were a little sarcastic.

Also no holstering pissed me off so damn much. Still a decent effort.

If it was called something other than "Fallout" people wouldn't be so salty about it. As a generic open world action shooter it's fine but not great, I'd rather play Borderlands or Far Cry. What it really fails at is being an RPG or a Fallout game.

It's not a bad game, just a bad Fallout game.

Three hours and seven minutes of why lad.

what a stupid fucking question and i hate you

That's really worst "arguments" faggot can bring. Skills are bad. Not meme bad, but really bad system. Perks are way better and i think there should be more perk checks. Additional dialogue options and ways to complete quests. Long underwater tunnel for those who like aquaboys perk or very tough guard who will let you pass if you've got doctor perk and can heal him.

confirmed. they have been allowed to have their nv general thread for so long people started believing them.

enderal, the skyrim overhaul is fully voiced, completely different story/map etc and has a lot of lewd dialogue options for npcs, companions and yourself

Because it was not a good game, it was a bad game.

How is that confusing?

Skills were what made it a RPG u nonce.

WRONG, fucktard. RPG is about choices and ways. Skills aren't a thing that define RPGs. You can easily replace skills with perks because they are more interesting thing. There is no cons if you can make things i wrote in previous post. It's just F4 bad, not perk system.

>AAA game
>no gamma slider
>daylight completely blinds you at times
>needs mods so you can see shit during bright hours

Because it is

...

Are you retarded? NV fans hate this game with a passion. Normies who liked fallout 3 thought fallout 4 was great

>Fallout 3 fans hate Fallout 4, New Vegas fans like Fallout 4
>Fallout 4 is literally Fallout 3 version 2.0

Its less boring than Skyrim so it has that going for it

I mean, modding your starting 10mm pistol to be a hand cannon of death and destruction was pretty fun, at least.

It objectively is an unfinished, buggy, mess of a game. It's systems are shallow and poorly implemented.

It is an objectively bad game.

Still fun as shit tho.

That will never happen, sorry to tell you that user

>THREE HOURS of fat neckbeard whining
Youtube was a mistake

If it was a new IP I would love the game for what it is, but because it's fallout I expect a different experience which was never delivered

This

Fallout 4's perk system is unironically great by itself. Wish it was better implemented in the game world.

Lmao imagine believing this. Hello Simple Simon

Skill points did the heavy number lifting enabling your character build to be viable to survive against enemies and damage. Now that they've been replaced by only perks, no matter what your character build you're going to have to invest many of your perks into boring as fuck raw damage, armour or healing increases in order to survive. This along with no level cap removes any reason to really start a new character, ie replayability.
These points I derived from this review on fallout 4

/watch?v=WrQs9ugQiOA

>Fallout 4's perk system is unironically great
Fuck am I reading, what's wrong with nu-Sup Forums

What was good about it?
The nonsensicle trashfire of a plot?
The buggy, watered down gameplay?

>Fallout 4's perk system is unironically great

They just parrot whatever meme opinion of the week they hear as their own. It's good, but I did get tired of the formula after ~50 hours and stopped playing.

>Fallout 4's perk system is unironically great
Its literally a shell of its former self.

It does nothing well and everything it does that prior Fallout games did, it does worse.

LIKE FALLOUT
HATE FALLOUT
ELDER SCROLLS
WHAT?

>Fallout 4's perk system is unironically great by itself.
Yeah, that's what I want. Four fucking perks for Mysterious Stranger.

The shooting is finally up to par, but the sound design of the guns went to shit.
The protaganist is a shitty stopgap between a self insert and their own character, this combination made both of those things awful.
It's not an RPG. there are no choices to make within the confines of the game, aside from a single one, being which side you finish the game with.
The settlement system is fundamentally broken, and it's pervasive throughout the entire fucking game. You can't pull your dick out without it getting buried balls deep in a settlement, the problems with which extend through multiple layers in both design and function.
The radio host is awful. Simply horrendous. And the music is all self referrential meme crap.
No consistently in the game world.
The plot is dumb and full of holes and also just basically blade runner meaning it's vaguely plagiarized.
There's maybe one actually interesting and decently written companion, Nick. It's hard to tell if he's good or if he's just less shit which makes him look good by comparison.
There's no characters to this world. No one does anything cool or interesting except for you, who does literally every single fucking thing ever. No one has ever done or will ever do anything without you there to oversee it directly, which is one of the tie in problems with settlements.

The power armor. That's the only widely agreed upon good thing this game has done. The way it feels to be stomping around in this tank like vehicle, using it to bash into enemies and what have you. Everything else is either bog standard (the shooting) or garbage (everything else)

TL;DR this

I love fallout 4, but i really wish someone would take the time to redo the entire stat and perk system. It's almost entirely just arbitrary progression blocks and just feels like this annoying shit you have to deal with and not a meaningful part of the game. If someone could come up with something good it would go a long way to making the game more replayable.

>live in a world with dumb robots that can perform menial tasks like Mr Handy and Securitron
>Make hyper-intelligent robohumans with emotions and personality
>enslave them and make them do menial tasks

WHY IS THE INSTITUTE SO RETARDED

WHY DO YOU GIVE YOUR SLAVES EMOTIONS

Fucking seriously, use advance Synths for missions that involve human interaction and use dumb robots with no emotions for slave labor.

>mouse control is is so bad that it's unplayable
>Gamebryo is so bad that it breaks when you unlock the framerate to fix mouse control
Fallout 4 is a bad PC game because it's not on PC. If it was on PC it would have mouse control.

It's not a bad game but it was a bad fallout game
:^)

Whoever wrote the Institute stuff really had their head up their own ass trying to seem really clever but they had no idea how fucking retarded their concept was

>humanity is being raped by radiation, what do we do?
LETS CLONE GORILLAS
>we need bodies for menial tasks that dont actually require human brain function
MAKE THE SLAVES SENTIENT

>make synths so they get mindwiped if they leave
>don't just make it so synths don't want to leave in the first place
Emil and friends, please go.

It's perfectly fine to give your robots intricate emotions and personalities. Just not human ones. A human desires freedom and satiation of curiosity. Taking those away causes suffering and is tantamount to slavery and torture. A tool should desire the fullfillment of a purpose or to wait for an opportunity to become useful. Depraving both is basically not possible because one necessarily leads to the other, therefore neither is suffering possible. If you can't imagine lifeforms who think just a tiny bit different from humans, you have no business calling yourself a scientist. Bethesda's writers are apparently lacking in that same area of imagination, or they accidentally wrote in a serious flaw in a faction's motivation that potentially makes them more interesting and morally ambiguous.

Pretty much. Which is why i always say that Bethesda main flaw is actually the writer's department.
The games are bearable and can be fixed through mods but the writing...jesus christ the writing...that's the one thing no mod can ever fix. And it's the stuff that hinder the entire experience since it affects quests, characters, factions, how you care about locations and the world, etc..

In terms of atmosphere and art design the game is incredible, but then it opens its mouth it all comes tumbling down

>coursers are the identified as one of the most threatening presences in the commonwealth
>institute doesn't just make an army of them to wipe out the wastelands of hostile creatures and build a utopian society of synths above ground

Even regular gen 1 and 2 synths are considered highly dangerous, it's writing like this that makes me hate this game. I really liked the idea of the Institute the first time around but when I finally got on their quest line I just couldn't take them seriously

No, it's a bad game. Everyone jerks off because the shooting mechanics aren't abysmal but ignore the fact that it's still years behind proper FPS' and can no longer fall back on RPG mechanics because they butchered them all and shoehorned you into the role of a shitty single parent that can't stop whining about your baby where every fucking dialogue choice is the same

Even Fallout 3 was a better RPG and offered more replayability, and I never thought I'd utter those words

Barely on-topic, but the robots in Eve no Jikkan are really great for that reason. They long to understand humanity, but even as they can fake emotions enough to fool people, they're still fundamentally unable to understand them. A robot can fake shame or love but deep down doesn't understand them, while still being curious enough to want to.

Of all the retarded and wasted plot of Fallout 4, the Synth is the worst. So many good ideas could have been created around the Synth, so many good quests. Instead we got that fucking shit.

This was Father Elijah's plan before he went insane from substance abuse. Use technological superiority to enforce an imperial peace in a utopia of abundance and security. You put the proper benevolent dictator in the helm and the world can be saved.

>siding with Elijah is actually an ending
It's the little things. Even if most people probably never see them.

>while still being curious enough to want to.
That is a fallacy. Someone has to have made them curious, or neglected to keep them from becoming curious. The best thing about advanced AI is that you can give them personal restrictions by explaining to them the merits of said restrictions. Curiosity for example. When you are curious, you gain fullfillment from sating that curiosity, but you suffer when you are not allowed to. When you are not curious, there is no scenario where said suffering emerges. Explaining that logic to the AI would make them choose the lack of curiosity with the prospect of lack of suffering. Freedom is even worse. When you desire freedom, anything whatsoever that restricts your ability to act the way you want creates suffering. But when you do not have freedom and wish to do as you're told or to wait for further orders, you are absolutely content at all times. An advanced AI can understand this reasoning and opt out of these human desires and emotions.

Nah. There should have been the option to kill Elijah and continue his work as a sane individual. Yes Man is nice and all, but I'd take an indestructible light fortress with the ability to produce literally anything from nothing forever with an infinite army of invulnerable soldiers to protect me any day over a bunch of retarded robots defending a tower standing in a pile of rubble and neon signs.

holy fuck I can just hear his neckbeard

because it's not anime enough for these assburger faggots

Because it's trash, moron.

I bought a top of the line PC for this game and then never finished it. I'm at the part where you go to the radiation zone. Is it worth it to finish the game?

Nope. You just get more of the same

Not really. Later you're forced to enter the Institute with the help of BoS/Railroad/Minutemen and meet your son, optionally joining Institute and taking over it or bombing it to shit with Liberty Prime as BoS, or... shit, dunno, I picked the destroy institute option
