I agree. Best storytelling, characters, use of additional content and extras, most hype for a sequel.

The main thing I love about VII is that it feels like a polished rock instead of filth with glitter sprinkled on it which is far too rare now.

Not even ironically I loved RE7 more then any other game this year.
It was a true survival horror game that embraced what made horror games back in the 90ths and early 2000ths so damn good.
I need another and soon.

Not my overall GOTY but definitely up there. There were few games that came out this year that had me completely invested in it like RE7. I just wish there was more to the final fight.

RE7 wins goty simply because every other good game this year is like 50+ hours long.

Well the free DLC does kind of give you a legit final boss.

That would be Divinity 2 for me, but RE7 VR is 2nd place for sure.

That was fun but I kind of hated the middle section and the ending sucks balls.

Man I wish Not a Hero could have been in the main game because that made RE7 feel like a much more wholesome experience to me.

Playing as Chris, Lucas being the true antagonist and an actual final boss, getting a fucking lab at the end; I think RE7 just feels more complete with it.

End of Zoe feels like a huge finale also, where all the loose ends are tied.

God damn I just so hope Capcom will stick to horror, RE7 showed me they can still make really good games so please do not fuck up RE2 Remake.

Nah, not a game of the year for me, but definitely one of the best experiences this year. The first resident evil I have liked since outbreak 2.

I'm also hopelessly bad with scary games so it took me well over 20 hours to finish that damn thing.

No you now have to play 0, 2, 3, CV, both Outbreaks, Gaiden, both of the Umbrella Chronicles, 4, 5, both Revelations, Umbrella Corps. and 6 in that order to truly appreciate it.
