It's genuinely an alright game, but it's undoubtedly a step down from the original trilogy, so it's derided as another part of the terrible load of shit we got from Enter the Dragonfly onwards. But still, when people say that Spyro went to shit, they often include a caveat that A Hero's Tail was okay. That little mole faggot was terrible, though. Sgt. Bird was the best alt character.

Yeah, I'm playing this too right now. My progress says ~50%.

The Spyro sections are fun. Platforming seems pretty basic compared to the old games, but I'm enjoying exploring for the major collectibles. Not having to collect every gem is a relief.

The different character sections are annoying, but the only ones I actively don't like are Sparx's and the mole's (whatever his name is.)

I like the dialog more than I thought I would.

This was one of my first proper games and I still love it to bits. Got up to the fight with Red but never actually beat it.

I really loved these as a kid, all 3 of the GBA spyro games(not counting the cross over) were really fun also loved the soundtrack to them too. I remember Season of Ice being pretty buggy though but I still played the hell out of it.
