>he doesn't use a mechanical keyboard
What a pleb, what's your excuse.
He doesn't use a mechanical keyboard
>no replies
Just admit it, your excuse is because of your plebian taste lol what a pleb he is :)
Can you remember the time you thought to yourself "damn I suck at vidya, it must be because of my keyboard"?
no because i never did bad
Not OP, I never did, yet I bought it simply for FPS games, mechanical keyboard is definitely important for games with complex movement like CS:GO.
It's not. It's all placebo.
>tfw my favourite keyboard's e key is chattering
I hate it
I do but I didn't really like it. Ended up returning it only to buy another one years later that simulates the feel of membrane keyboards (brown switches). At the end of the day it doesn't really feel like it made any difference.
I had a keyboard that didnt let me do multiple keyboard presses at the same time once. So yeah ive actually went "wow this keyboard isnt letting me do a hadoken" once.
>It's all placebo.
Except it's not. I recommend that you get some insight what makes membranes different from switches.
>press 3 buttons at the same time
>BEEP
>. . .
>BEEP
>CSGO
>complex movement
It's bait but i don't care. mechs are better because of higher build quality but aren't worth spending $70+ on.
Only time I blamed the keyboard is when it's faulty, usually try to fix it myself when this happens but I replace it when needed.
Literally any old IBM office keyboard will do a job as good as top tier gaming mechanical keyboard.
Got one of these bad boys coming in tomorrow. You know you're jealous.
I don't know about it for gaming, but mechanical is so much more satisfying to type on is absurd.
I'd never use a membrane keyboard if I had a choice. Mx blues all the way.
I do use one, it has cherry brown switches because I think blue and red are too loud
I cummed on my mechanical keyboard and some of the keys wouldn't work after.
>le g4m3r led kiddy keyboard
Why do gamers have zero taste?
>le missing half my keys keyboard
Why do hipsters have such bad taste.
I got a mechanical keyboard for writing but I don't really see the point for vidya. I mean, you only really need the wasd plus the ten or so keys surrounding it.
>brainlet can't use function keys
Lmaoing at your life
I'm not jealous because I'm already typing on one
>pok3r
reddit keyboard
what keyboard my dude. i'm tired of my keyboard taking up all the fucking space on my desk.
I don't play with a keyboard though. It's too fucking difficult for me. It's like I'm trying to play video games with a fucking piano
>2017
>Using switch keyboards and not buckling springs
I bet you have some sick led-lightshow macros for when ladies come over don't ya?
Pok3r
Some people don't have time to worry about keyboards, they just wanna get shit done.
I only use one because I have wrist problems.
I am the lady
I worry about my keyboard because I want to get shit done. I type for a living and I am far faster with a good mechanical keyboard.
You might want tenkeyless. I like 75% the best because it still has F and arrow keys.
keyboardco.com
The only reason to use a mechanical keyboard is to avoid ghosting.
There, I said it.
I use a 5$ keyboard and enjoy it more than my friends mechanical ones
I can type accurately 100wpm on a rubberdome, same with laptop or any mech. My hands are pretty strong, it's just the travel distance that was causing problems.
Switching to dvorak, or really just touch typing in general is a far bigger gain than any mech could have given me.
>soyboy keyboard
Kys
Buckling springs are the best switch you could ever type on.
Oh, so that's why you have a rainbow keyboard? Can't fags start signing their posts so you know if you can take them seriously or not.
I just hate how much they ping
lmaoing at this image. no actual evidence of superiority whatsoever. just "muh feels". reminds me of audiophiles.
buckling springs sound like your dad fucks
They are but I can't use one at work because fucking open office plans means that everyone within half a mile of me can hear me typing and it annoyed people.
I actually unironically prefer the feel of a membrane keyboard. If there is no performance difference, then I will never need a mechanical keyboard, I'll stick with my 10$ dell membrane keyboard on my 1200$ rig, so sue me
holy shit where is your numpad? And half your other keys? Do people actually game like this?
>muh wooden stool is just as good as your plush recliner because I can sit on both of them
I know no way of making them quieter, but you could just wear some comfy headphones play some smooth jazz to drown it out.
youtu.be
>half the keyboard is behind a function
lmao fuck off, I mean even the F keys seriously
Im too poor
>model m keyboard
>that satisfying "crunch" whenever you press a key
B A S E D
here's an old pic of mine, which I've been using and still am using to this very day
I've got one, pretty solid keyboard
You can press more keys than on a rubber dome.
Overall quality of keys (paint/keys wont get stuck etc) is better on mechanical.
And yes its more responsive, you can use a rubber one but its a really bad choice for games.
People like to meme about Razer but their shit is actually good. The orange switches are nice and reasonably quiet.
not like that.
>dude membranes like uuuh hot satisfying!!!
>mechanical, like, HAS COOL FEEL TO IT
not an argument. i can describe eating shit over icecream in the same way.
>implying CSGO doesn't have complex movement

Please clean your keyboard.
A keyboard is a keyboard. If it functions then it functions, and how it feels and sounds when you press it down is entirely down to personal preference.
I use this.

Did i do good Sup Forums?
I don't play video games, just shitpost about them all day
Got a majestouch 2 here, feels fucking great gaming and shitposting.
Need to find a good brown on sale for shitposting at work, because I don't want something so clicky at work.
>COMPLEX MOVEMENT
I wish someone told me about chattering before I bought mine. I had to replace like ten switches already, and there are others that are glitching out since my last soldering session.
>it's pure function
>except for these matters of personal preference
???
That's more the reason, user.
Sorry about your situation. Perhaps get a promotion so you can get a corner office with a great view. You will be to type as loud as you want then.
itt impoverished neets try to convince themselves that rubber domes aren't fucking garbage
go get a job you smelly virgin fucks
Because I prefer a quiet keyboard. Most of the people I know who use mechanical are autistic and need that audio stimulation. Ever been in a voice server with these people or even a lan.
>N-key rollover isn't a thing for a sufficient level of gameplay
>Finger fatigue for extended work and gameplay isn't a thing either, where needing to "bottom out" cheaper keyboards causes fingers to tire significantly faster.
You don't need a $500 keyboard, but a $20-30 keyboard with knockoff blues is a massive upgrade from whatever shitty keyboard 90% of people are probably using.
Please take some time out of your use of one of the best keyboards in existence and CLEAN IT, please.
No one has an office, it's a completely open floor plan with no walls. I fucking hate it but at least I can put headphones on to ignore people.
Hahahaha
>spending money to shitpost
/vip/ pls go
>jealous
Nah senpai i'm not a teen anymore. Lots of good keyboards without leds out there.
I like abusing my keyboard to do quick, skillful things, rather than being gentle with it.
I honestly don't care if the keyboard is mechanical or mebrane.. Nearly all of my mechanical keyboards have ended up breaking eventually anyhow. Hell, I hate linear keys since I always end up pressing them down accidentally.
I do like sleek designs though. And mechanical keyboards tend to have nicer designs than the membrane ones.
Wait, I thought the benefit of a mechanical keyboard was that it registered multiple key presses? Like a normal keyboard doesn't register more than X number of keys being pressed at the same time as they cause an interrupt, but a mechanical keyboard you could hit the entire keyboard and it would register every key individually.
Or something like that, is it all bullshit and mechanicals are only good for feels?
too expensive
There's not a measurable improvement to your performance in games, buy a good mouse for sure
Mechanical keyboards do improve your life if you type a bit, plus pretty lights are nice, and programmable keys are pretty nice too
yes i can register more than 3 buttons at once, but, why the fuck would you push 4> buttons ever?
>higher build quality
The most pathetic thing is they aren't at all. Corsair mechanical keyboard with mx switches suffer a pathetic fail rate, chattering, filco ping that gets louder over time, dead LEDs (corsair blames cherry for all this btw.)
And their Keyboards go from 130 up to 200€. They also want you to pay for shipping if you RMA them and trust me, you will.
The 25€ cheapo Chinese vicsing tenkeyless with blue switches has no issues at all, full metal build, no filco ping at all. Just recently tried the sharkoon skiller mg3 for 64,90€ with Kahlit brown which are way too heavy, poor quality control, filco ping up the arse, but really bright LEDs which is a plus.
My Logitech G15 (second version with orange light) which I bought in early 2008 still works like a charm.
People shouldn't compare mechanical keyboards from yesteryear's with poorly build, mass produced garbage of today. Ironically, my experience was the cheaper the better the mechanical keyboard.
>falling for the mechanical keyboard meme or the expensive mouse for superior precision gaymin
Never again
The keyboard definitely has a great look. If I had the time and talent, I would take a model M / Unicomp and make the keys raised in a similar fashion on an all metal frame. Buckling springs are the best available and everyone should use them.
Cute cat.
Well as an example off the top of my head, playing racing games if you don't have a controller.
I remember playing some, and it was noticeably fucking with the driving because I was having to hold down quite a few keys at moments.
member when mechanicals were as cheap as membrane ones today?
I'm using a G11 keyboard with blue lights it works great too. I wish Logi just remade this but mechanical instead of their current gamur design of the G910.
It makes no difference to my typing speed, vidya gaming skills, or anything really. I mean I guess it "sounds" better, but other than that I see no real advantages.
Why spend $100 on a keyboard when I can do $10 for the same thing? It's like buying a RGB mousepad for $90 when I can settle with a standard one for $5 that works just as fine.
>buying a keyboard with the homosexual flag as a design on it
lmao fucking mechanical fags
A high DPI mouse with as many extra buttons as you need/want is absolutely worth getting. But you shouldn't have to spend any more than 70$ at most.
Any keyboard is good, barring some seriously technical issues, as long as you like it
>no numpad
>no function keys
that was a membrane keyboard
>tfw faggots stole rainbows
>ever using a numpad
> tfw used soviet union tier mechanical keyboards in IT made with lythium, silver and other expensive as fuck materials
> they ware dirt cheap
> could use them to break down walls
What the fuck happened
Agreed x1000, the 'aesthetic' PC gamers are cancer. Matching your RGB keyboard to your case and an LED backlight on your desk is MEGA AUTISTIC
Corsair K70 or Corsair Strafe?
I'm a stingy fuck and my €10 piece of shit still works fine even though I thought it was going to shatter when I first touched it
Office Keyboards are more aesthetic then your rice shit. I've been using pic related for over 8 years at this point and it's still great.
>old ibm keyboard
you mean the keyboard that now goes for 370 dollars online?
Neither. They all fall apart and have severe issues. Way too overpriced and poor support.
Have the same one, except with with browns.
Feels nice, it does annoy people I talk to online a bit, but fuck 'em.
War in africa,
Not even kidding, coltan prices are sky high right now.
