THE COVENANT HAD ITS CHANCE

>>>kills billions

>to save trillions

Disgusting alien life has no meaning though.

Because if he didn't decide to work with humanity after Truth went full retard and decided betraying the covenant's strongest military faction was a good idea, Earth would be fucked.

>implying ONI wouldn't have tried to assassinate his ass if they could have without it backfiring on them

His golden elite armor was cooler than his arbiter armor. Prove me wrong. Protip:
>you can't

What were human-sangheili relations supposed to be like after 3? Did they just try to avoid one-another?

The Elites fucked off back to their homeworld and the Humans fucked off back to Earth pretty much.

Hood in the last cutscene of Halo 3 summed it up well. What he did is unforgivable, but he still helped humanity and without him they would have been fucked, so he's free to lead his people because of that.

That cutscene is kino by the way
youtube.com/watch?v=4-x_Lm5SHGY

Elites just fucked off because if they were seen by human civilians whose families were slaughtered by them mass public riots would happen in an effort to gut them.

>the covenant are still standard enemies in 4 and 5 despite the human covenant shit being over and the new enemies being the prometheans because lol iconic enemy designs we're not going to just bin them
>the fucking halo rings literally irrelevant

>Motherfucking Ron Perlman
Man those games had some great voice actors

Unless you count some of 343's shittier canon

>Elites fuck off back to their homeworld
>...Humans send secret agents to stir up dissent and arm anti-human factions against the Arbiter for some insane reason

Wait does the covenant have an ONI equivalent?

343 is shit but that isn't too far fetched. Who knows what the Elites and other Covenant races will want to do once they're strong again, and people like Arbiter who like humans and want peace with them are outliers among the Sanghelli I think. We gotta hit them before they hit us.

Spec Ops Elites

ONI is composed of dicks, this didn't change when 343 took over

>Thel Vadamme
>Therel Vadamme
>The Real Van Damme

AT LAST I TRULY SEE

I'm sure the prophets had their own agents they used for those kinds of purposes

Thats not really ONI, thats like ODST

They perform the same function as ONI

>halo
The absolute STATE of nu-Sup Forums, ladies and gentlemen.

That might make some sense except they were explicitly arming groups that were comprised primarily out of still-fanatical Elites who wanted to continue exterminating humans, AGAINST the one whose primary agenda was getting them to leave humans alone.

Why couldn't 343 just stop being retarded and make it to where shadow government ONI is secretly making a nazi germany bounceback knowing they can use real Forerunner toys and not cheap reverse engineered shit. I can just imagine in the 10-20 year time a new UNSC navy is created entierly out of Forerunner ships and an invasion fleet is sent to Sanghelios with Lord hood at the helm. But instead of being monsters they demonstrate humans can show compassion not repeating what was done at Harvest and Reach, instead they read off a list of elites they want mainly Thel, R'tas and their shipmasters. They give a quick human history lession of the Nuremberg trials of 1945 and what happened to the high ranking officials.

>nu Sup Forums
Halo is almost 20 years old you dense shit

Yeah I can't defend that. They should be trying a thing where they set both sides on equal ground to keep each other busy for as long as possible, and since Arby's side is the weaker one he should have been getting beefed up more.

Why does he look like a fireman?

What's your opinion on Halo legends?

>t. PCfat forced with CE for the rest of eternity

Most of it was boring, I remember liking the one with the ODSTs working with the Spartan and the one about the Spartans escaping and meeting their clones
That one where Chief has to rescue Halsey and she looks 20 years old and then he has an energy sword duel with the Arbiter was some of the most retarded shit I've ever seen

A multi-thousand year old religious empire doesn't dissolve instantly because a big leader dies and a battle is lost

Of all the problems 343's games have, fanatic remnants of the covenant are not one

2 hot 4 prosecution

The Package is by far the worst one, but all the rest were pretty good. Homecoming being the best next to Odd One Out

High Charity was lost, their manufacturing capabilities were severed, their leaders the San-shyuum all left. That empire is as fucking dead as can be.

That was their reasoning, actually. Arbiter was having major success in recruiting Elites for his reformations, and convincing them that fighting humans was pointless and they at least had better ways to spend their time. For some reason ONI decided it'd be worth the risk to supply arms to the factions whose two primary objectives were to A) Murder the Arbiter, and B) Continue fighting humanity.

>tfw got Halo Wars 2
>it's actually good

I wonder why the Jackals weren't brainwashed. All signs point them to them only being hired to help the covenant instead of being an official part of it.

I wanna have a Sangheili BF and a Sangheili GF at the same time.

Im pretty sure they (ONI) were arming the anti-human faction due to the fact they were sort of at a disadvantage so that the elites were spending more time fighting and destroying each other/each others assets so that in the end they wouldnt be in a position to attack earth/threaten humanity.

It’s still a sure sign of an underagefag. Kill yourself, I wish that every single one of you shit-eating halobabbies was permabanned from this board.

From what I know alot of them were basically hired guns. It was more they were contracted as scouts to look for forerunner relics and such but they would also be able to skim a bit off the top for themselves. As far as their front line infanty positions im sure they would have had a similar agreement as well but there were those that were actual all religious and shit too. They were officially part of the covenant but they had a bit of flexibility that most the others didint

Sure

It still seems like a risky and roundabout way to solve a problem that was pretty much solving itself though. And all it really did was lead to someone like Jul developing even more of a hateboner for humans that before and causing them exponentially more trouble down the line than a handful of religious nuts who might could field half a banshee between them.

It didn't have the shitty nu-halo artstyle.

I know the Grunts were conquered to join due to the many rebellions they have had over the years, but were any of the other species "conquered" to join?

Yes but there's still fanatic remnants... Every single covenant ship in existence wasn't wiped out and high charity was not their sole world or means of production

It was war and he surrendered, Humanity gained nothing from killing someone who would go back to his homeworld and get Elites to be as chill with humans as possible.

It IS a risky and roundabout way of solving things, Its exactly what countries like the US, Russia and others have been doing for decades and what do we get? Syria

I think they knew the risks but they didnt know the risk Jul posed and thats why the person who was pretty much responsible for Jul's imprisonment/escape was shot when he did escape. Jul didnt really blab about what had happened to him as far as I know but he was out for revenge as he saw ONI as responsible for the death of his wife.

Jackals were 'conquered' in the sense that they only effect resistance was demolished but they were so scattered (they lived in asteroid belts) that they (the prophets) thought it might be easier to hire them and make use of their skills

Hunters for one. They feed off metal and had chewed up quite a few Forerunner goodies in their time, which the Prophets and Elites weren't too chuffed about. They joined after being threatened with orbital bombardment for their "heresy", and after an Arbiter spent a year spying on them and realizing they weren't just animals.

Jackals too, though they just ended up cutting a deal because it would be too much trouble rooting them out of the asteroid fields they liked building colonies in.

Drones they tangled with too before they figured out how to speak their language.

Brutes were discovered after they'd finished nuking themselves back to caves so there wasn't much resistance to be had.

really makes you think

Hunters werent really conquered because the elites didnt know how to kill them due to how they lived (they dug and ate under the ground) but they incorporated the ones they they found that avoided the forerunner artifacts and dug around around them instead of eating through them
