There's a bundle with Colorful Tone + Future Sound, but you'd have to get the Season Pass (3 encore packs) separately. The bundle is 30% off so it's well worth it.
The 3 encore packs/season pass would be giving you 12 extra songs IIRC and some extra outfits. The bundle already gives you 200+ songs though.
They usually have a 10% off discount code on JP PSN around december so if that's the normal price and not a sale price then you can probably just wait it out a couple weeks.

The 10% of discount thing is something Sony has done the past 2 years and it's a generic code for 10% off your whole cart when buying stuff on JP PSN.

I would have considered the English version, but no translated lyrics killed it for me.
I'd even consider buying DX if it gets an English physical release just to support the game some more, and because I love physical copies of games.

It basically downloads the entire game, but is only a 2 song demo to see how it plays.

Nope. You can play it with you western account (and be granted the trophies, etc), but to buy DLCs you need to use the store of the same region as the disc.
Is there a controller you can get to go with the ps4 version? I was going to get the drum bundle but apparently the controller that comes with it is kind of shitty so I opted to get just to game instead.
Something that can bind to face buttons and the d-pad would probably work, like a fightstick or PDX/FTDX pad. Personally I'd just stick with the dualshock.

depends on how authentic of an experience you want. if you want the arcade feel, building your own controller will get you the closest, 2nd best would be the mini controller, but beyond that, you might as well just stick to the ds4, it's not bad at all
Can confirm the DS4 feels just fine.
I can get through the Extreme 10 difficulty songs with it and I'm not the greatest at rhythm games. Feels nice once you get used to the button layout.

Looks like it'd be awkward with the layout. Slides wouldn't be very nice either, and you wouldn't get the bonus points from using two sticks.

I bought a PS4 for Future Tone and Persona 5. I've spent so much time on Future Tone alone that I think it made the console purchase worth it. Everything else so far has just been extra.
Besides Pokemon in my younger days, this game has the most playtime put into it and I still need to get better.

Not hard at all. Make a Jap account, buy games and DLC with Jap account.
Pricing for a ¥10,000 card is $95-100 currently on Play-Asia. Lower ones cost a bit more. They send the code within 24 hours, 10-30 minutes if your bank isn't hassling you about fraud.
