Agent Stone.
Everyone else was either mutilated or a psychotic

Raven, Cage, and Needles Kane

Sweet-Tooth. He fucking loves what he does.
Preacher had it the worst. He was guilty the entire time

Reminder Warhawk was originally gonna be playable

At least John Doe died quickly.

Are there any games edgier than this one?
The answer's probably but none particularly come to mind

Hatred.

Felt like expanding this:
Literally nothing bad happened to Cage
Raven has essentially the only particularly happy ending.
Sweet Tooth's only problem is that he's on fire, and he doesn't care at all.
Of the other three with semi-pleasant endings, Billy Ray got off the best.
Grimm is supposedly still crazy after his feast, so Frank's a bit better off.
Black was blown up, but shrugged it off.
Axel, Mary, and Kane are all miserable at the end and that's mostly it.
John Doe (Edward) and Agent Stone had nearly good endings, but died.
Dollface and Preacher Jebediah suffered the whole way through, but at least Dollface lived.

I hope you don't Boco

>Imagine the cacophony of heavy metal, roaring motors, gunfire, and explosions that made Mad Max: Fury Road such a memorable roller coaster, but within the Twisted Metal universe. That almost happened, according to Brian Taylor, co-director of Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and it nearly included Nicolas Cage.
>"It was kind of like Fury Road before Fury Road in a way," Taylor said in a recent interview with Collider. "The set pieces in Twisted Metal were kind of the same thing." Taylor revealed that the Twisted Metal concept was so wild, and so ambitious that Sony couldn't pony up the cash to make it happen. The Twisted Metal IP had been on the decline after the commercial floundering of its latest game, and the timing just wasn't right.
>“It became like a ‘tweener," he said. "Sony came out with a new version of the game, didn’t really sell that well... It was a movie that felt like it needed to be $50 million, but they didn’t feel that the fanbase really merited that kind of movie; it really wanted to be more of a $15 million movie, but the nature of it with the set pieces would’ve just made it too big.”
>The kicker? Nicolas Cage was supposed to star as Twisted Metal's terrifying mascot, Sweet Tooth. "By the way," he said, "I wanted Nic Cage to be Sweet Tooth... Even Sweet Tooth is kind of like the Fury Road guy, you know it’s the mask and the clown with the crazy car. It kind of feels the same."

>but at least Dollface lived.

Until the sequel, anyway. "Whoops, my head's still growing. Whoops, the mask is crushing my skull. Damn, shoulda kept that key."

What method?

Oh that's right. TM:B is definitely way up there though

Warhawk probably would've been way too OP, so I'm glad this didn't happen.

Shadow the Hedgehog.

>Until the sequel,
Sucks that it never got finished

>too OP
>He doesn't like playing as cheap and broken characters as a reward for completion

Man this game was awesome

I wonder why every TM game after this one used the same design for Sweet Tooth

Cause it's perfect
Also Head On had classic Needles without the scarred up eyeball

Hatred, Manhunter, and Postal 1 come to mind in terms of real edge. Postal 2 has to get mentioned for comical edge though.

Fanon states that he imagined the events of Black while he was in Calypso's ring after 4. Maybe the forces in the ring changed him.

Black was a hallucination of the real Needles Kane during Head: On, who ends up having two other alter egos besides Sweet Tooth

Twisted Metal canon is stupid

Its confirmed that Black is all in Needles' head, but which Needles is really up to you.

>Black was a hallucination of the real Needles Kane during Head: On
Wait, wasn't everybody in a coma in that game?

That works too.
And yes it is.

You're thinking of Roadkill in 2.

The whole Marcus/Needles thing was such a pointless thing to add

I don't like how they've just given up and started calling Needles sweet tooth again.

will we ever get a new twisted metal?
Wasnt it quite succesful? I loved those games, I played all of them even 1 and 2. I remember there was 1 was a mine pickup, we had a slightly retarded friend that would always step on his own mines

Seems inevitable. Dunno if they ever released sales data for the PS3 game.

2012 didn't do so well
Jaffe said he wants to do a low budget Sweet Tooth spin off
>"Hope the TM fans out there have dug some of the 'what could have been' stuff from what I am fairly certain will be the last Twisted Metal game made. At least for a very, very long time!"

digitalspy.com/gaming/news/a396339/twisted-metal-sequels-ruled-out-by-jaffe-alternative-endings-filmed/

thnx
i dont remember much of 2012, i thought it was good but i recall the campaign was very short and the maps were small too so less replayability compared to older titles. Still did enjoy it.

Its one of the few types of games of its kind, a vehicle deathmatch. usually there is a race involved

This game is cheap as fuck in hard mode. Literally, no game has made me rage but this one. And I'm the type of guy that laughs at the thought of getting angry over a videogame. Just play this shit in hard mode, to get cheesed by shitty ai.

I remember getting to the final boss with three different characters (don't remember which), and I was only able to beat it with one of them.

2012 had races, actually. That was a good part of it, more variety in single player. Not just eight deathmatches in a row.

Take that and quadruple the playable characters and it would have been perfect.

I'm pretty sure I've only ever beaten it with Mr Grimm, who is so fucking good. Some of the later levels are so frustrating

What are some vehicles that haven't been used in the series?

Boats

The singleplayer, and ONLY the singleplayer, had death races. I would have loved doing the races online but for some reason they weren't included in the multiplayer as far as I could tell. Also, the full maps were only available online as well if I recall. Playing splitscreen local restricted you to small pieces of maps. So many strange decisions made in that game, but still came out very well where it counts
Who the fuck thought valentines day was a good launch day?

A penny farthing bicycle.

...

>Paul Blart driver

>his wish is to revive Adam Sandler's career

Utility vehicles
Train cars
UFOs (unless Quatro counts as one)

Why is it so hard to figure out this game? I feel like it finally clicks with me, and then I fucking die on the 3rd level. Is it really just me, or are TM games in general fucking tough?

like all car combat games, the enemy ai will almost never attack each other but will attack you.

the homeless guy because he's allowed to wake up

Don't mind me, just the best iteration of Sweet Tooth, Grimm, Calypso, the best side characters, wishes, and best overall TM game coming through.

kys. the 989 studios twisted metal games were so bad it almost killed the franchise

>Sweet Tooth
That's not Head-On
>Grimm
That's not TM1 or 2
>Calypso
Granted
>the best side characters
Half and half. Quatro and Orbital were kind of cool, the others were just weird.
>wishes
I'm not really sure how these would be ranked, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.
>best overall TM game
Even in the field of 989 games, 3 was better.

>youtube.com/watch?v=7YXdtAbNqXs
>this shit
>good wish AND side character

>TMB thread
Awwww yeah.

Least Worst: Raven
Most Worst: Agent Stone

You're forgetting the Boy, apart from having to accept his father was gone he didn't have it that bad

That's what I meant by Kane. I didn't include Marcus at all if that's what you thought. Sorry for the confusion.

>TM4
>good
I've got half a mind to waste you punk

What's your favorite stage in TM: B and why isn't it The Prison?

4 had awful stuff but also had stuff I liked in it.

Soundtrack wasn't half bad, some areas were fun to fight in and Create a Car was cool

the soundtrack was only good because of rob zombies involvement

best twisted metal coming through

I SEE A RED DOOR

AND I WANT IT PAINTED BLACK

I'll admit, it was kind of neat how they transferred the main characters into kid forms.
youtube.com/watch?v=81iOMGMbfmI

I think we can all agree that 3 has the worst endings

>You want my SOLE?

I'm honestly curious who thought of this and why

I'm getting Ed, Edd, n Eddy/90's Nickelodeon vibes from this

Sadly, that was the best of the endings.

best twisted metal

In Terms of Stories:
Great:: Preacher, Agent Stone, Mr. Grimm, Dollface, Sweet Tooth, Cage, Minion and the secrets you had to decode
Alright: Billy Ray, Charlie Kane & Son, No-Face, Bloody Mary, Raven
Meh: John Doe, Axel, Black

TM2012 was fucking 10/10 multiplayer. The problem was that there was so many fuckups getting to it. It had the online pass system, shitty lobby system, CONSTANT connection errors (I'm talking like at least 8-1 fail/success lobby connection rate, probably worse), and it didn't include the wackier modes that were in the single player like electric cage (basically king of the hill with a moving hill and everyone outside gets damaged). That isn't even mentioning the HORRENDOUS lobby system where host migration wouldnt notify the new host, who was now responsible for starting the game. That meant that everyone was sitting in lobby like a jackass waiting for the host to finally notice they were host, and there was no way to know who was the host (or I never saw it) so you couldn't even tell them. When they finally fixed the connection issues, it was too little too late.

But man when it worked, it rocked. Helis, fucking Crimson Furys and Kamikazes screaming all over the map, and there was even a big-rig that one person drived and I think two team-mates manned turrets on. I loved that game, and I hope it gets a PS4 re-release

TMB was so fucking good

You want to forever HANG with your homies?

Dangnabdiddlyhowyodoindangdabdoh

None because it was all a dream

I loved the custom skin system they implemented into the game so consolefags like me could get a taste of what pc modders must do regularly, until the site broke and I never got back some of the Sweet Tooth skins.

Still it was a great feature.

How's Drawn to Death?

Is Sandler seriously screwed?
