Time to talk about controllers
Time to talk about controllers
dual shock is too fucking small. everytime I go to my bro's house I feel like I'm using a gnomes remote
Dual shock isn't 10/10. The stick placement is terrible. Xbox got it right.
xbox one controller has an issue with their analog sticks, makes them stuck in one direction. never happened to my 360 controllers and i had those way longer
Move the N64 controller to the bottom and it's more or less accurate.
Xbox One would have the ultimate controller if the shoulderpads were more like the PS2 or Xbox 360.
This meme needs to die. The DS4 is bigger than the fucking xbone controller.
I'm thinking of picking up a controller one day. What's the best controller for online games and emulators for a Mac?
Sony always on top baby
Switch Pro Controller is only good if it's the new XBC2 version, the vanilla version has an absolutely garbage dpad.
>dissing the power glove
fuck you i loved the Duke
What about handheld console controls?
This is a troll image. Only a fucking mongoloid would put anything with a Sony logo above 6/10.
>Worst D-Pads
>horrible analog placement
>Took three generations of controllers to realize convex analogs are cancer
>Worst triggers in the game
>Shit battery life
SEETHING
Dualshock 4(hour battery life)
Dualshock 4? Is this le ebig trole? One of my controllers' battery is already so dead that it's not usable wireless anymore. In comparison, my PS3 still has two controllers that work perfectly, even though they're years older.
obsessed
>using a 1-10 scale
>ranks everything a 6 or above
Collective controller design, by company:
>Elder God Tier
>Sega
>God Tier
>Microsoft
>Great Tier
>Nintendo
>Decent Tier
>Sony
>Shit Tier
>Everything else
This is 100% indisputable fact. Believing anything else otherwise is incorrect.
>Worst D-Pads
compared to..?
whats the ps4 controllers dpad like compared to the vita?4
:-DDDD
Factually incorrect. Literally able to disprove by anyone who has both. Why you you blatantly lie like that?
first user completely and utterly BTFO how will he ever recover
And zero durability
>gamecube second to bottom
DS4 is like a half a pound. It feels like I'm holding a corn flake
DS4 is a great controller, sadly it fucks up when I try to use it on steam. I can either hear game audio, or audio from discord. I have to keep unplugging shit randomly until it finally play both.
Put the GameCube at the top and you have yourself a perfect list.
>powerglove
>no wiimote
>GameCube that low
>SNES that high
Overall is right. New controllers are better. Haven't touch a Switch yet. Maybe Pro is as good as WiiU's
dual shock takes too much fire to be a 10/10, the neo geo and snes controllers aren't 8/10 at all either. And n64 is what were they thinking tier.
theres a lot of other stuff to fix so i assume bait
memeing aside, how shitty is the steam controller?
>Worst D-Pads
I see you don't remember the useless disc on the 360 pad. Good luck getting any fine input done on that piece of shit
Literally anything else except for maybe the 360's D-Pad. And I would go so far as to say the 360's D-Pad is objectively better than Sony's. Beats the shit out of your thumb though.
And you don't seem to remember the Gamecube's D-Pad. Oh, that's right -- It was too small to see, so it's hard to remember.
The Steam controller is not great. You can configure it in a multitude of ways but none of those ways are easy or satisfying enough to use for most games.
Compelling arguments, as usual with sonyfats.
The Wii U pro controller is the best and most aesthetic controller ever made. Literally the only issue is the glossy shell.
>mac
suicide is the best option
its a sonyfat vs a xcuck you autist
People only really think Sony makes good controllers because they're associated with some pretty decent systems. It's sheerly a nostalgia thing, but if you look at Sony controllers objectively as a gaming interface, they're really not all that good or comfortable.
Maybe for games where the dpad has minor uses, but for any 2D game I don't see how anyone could use something like an xbox controller dpad to move. Dualshock is great for those games if you can't use something like a SNES pad.
You might think all that, but you'd be wrong.
the dualshock has an incomplete d-pad that doesn't roll correctly and gets shitty easily, its objectively worse
would you enjoy it if you are an autistic ricer?
Unironically this
Where would this be on that pic?
Go back to bed, /k/.
It's impossible to enjoy. Get an Xbone pad or something that actually functions correctly without having to configure it. It might be useful if you have a Steam Link or an HTPC, but if you're seriously considering one of those for gaming, you've already fucked up.
fuck off any controller is better then ds4
You obviously haven't ever tried the Steam Controller. plus, that picture is the prototype.
I love it. Sure, took some time to get used to it, but the sheer amount of customization and key-rebinding is insane.
Reminder
I fucking hate the ds4 and this is just untrue. You must never have played an Atari Jaguar.
>wrong analog
What? Are you a monkey?
if you hold any controller like any of these you might be retarded.
You mean the audio ouput is thru the controller?
Customization and key rebinding alone does not make for a good controller. I've had one of those fuckers for over a year now and it's still a piece of shit. That and it feels cheap as fuck.
I love the Xbone controller, but I realized with the new change it made it impossible to spam the shoulder buttons. Pretty much no game ever makes you spam those buttons, but the few exceptions become borderline unplayable.
Discovered this while trying some guitar hero today on a controller. It was flawless on the 360, but it's almost impossible to keep hitting shoulder buttons and swapping consistently when you can't easily push down the whole button.
You don't actually know anything about ergonomics, so I'm just going to assume you're being a shitposting faggot.
>guitar hero
>on a controller
dude no
>n64 not in worst tier
Apart from the layout being ass, the analog stick eventually grinds up into nasty ass plastic dust.
Believe me I know. But it's been a nightmare to find a new controller. I got clone hero working and I'm looking for a decent older controller. It's all starting at $40, used and of questionable quality on ebay. Or like $70 on amazon. I'll try some thrift stores tomorrow, just wanted to test the controller on guitar hero since it was playable to some extent on Guitar Hero 3.
>Not clawing
Wii U pro is the most comfortable claw and the best controller. Holding a controller like a casual faggot isn't gonna get you anywhere
the best place to look for this shit is thrift stores, you should have started there first. its all wii fit boards and guitar hero guitars at the local goodwill
>clawing
fuck off faggot
The Wii U tablet is unironically the most comfortable controller I've ever used.
>gamecube and n64 are the same quality
wanna know how i know you've never touched a nintendo console?
Oh it IS where I'm starting. I started my search tonight. At like 9 pm when all stores were closed. Oddly enough the only place I recall seeing a guitar hero guitar in recent memory was at a fucking pawn shop of all places. Like it's some ancient relic.
Is the guitar hero live guitar as bad as everyone says? Because that's like $30 and easily available anywhere.
Nunchuck and wiimote are the most comfortable gamepad ive ever played with. Lying around in any position imaginable while gaming was intense. Its unfortunate that the only good game the wii has is shattered meme ories
>GameCube 6/10
>the new soyboy dualshit gets 10 owta 10
How fucking shit can you be
>sharebutton instead of select
>10/10
>kek
How so? I have a regular one and the D-Pad seems just fine
bait
>Worst D-Pads
Wrong
>horrible analog placement
Wrong
>Took three generations of controllers to realize convex analogs are cancer
They're fine
>Worst triggers in the game
DS3 sucked, others are great
>Shit battery life
Agreed
There's plenty of room for improvement with the DS4.
I dislike the shape of the parts of ds4 you grab (see pic), it's not as ergonomic as they could have easily made it.
Also think the r2,l2/triggers are flimsy, and the options/share buttons are set a bit too deep and should have better tactile feedback.
This stupid comparison doesnt make any sence and the 360 gamepad is too stiff to be aesy and comfortable to use. Please del del del
>DS4
>useless annoying blue light
>useless annoying share button
>terrible battery life
>10/10
This
i stopped playing with plastic babby guitars almost a decade ago user, i wouldnt know
guitar hero feels like some kind of collective ponzi scheme the whole world fell for, but some people just fucking love rhythm games. sorry to sound like a prick but yeah, thrift stores are your best bet
A ponzi scheme? I can see how you could call it a fad where everyone wanted to be a guitar player or something and it died just as quickly as it came.
By the way, just because you play guitar for real now doesn't make you a "real man". It's just a different hobby.
UPDATED
THIS IS CANON
How is ps2/ds2 worse than xbox 360? I ownec around 10+ xbox gamepads and they were all cheap plastic trash, ds1/ds2 is vastly superior either put them on the same place or put 360 down since its in no way as good as xone nor ds2/ds1
>buy guitar hero/rock band set
>make friends get it too
>everyone stops playing it
>plastic shit everywhere with no other use
feels like a scheme to me, pal. i see the appeal for some but its not for me anymore
its the same for things like ddr and beatmania, but that stuff is even more niche. and actually i dont even play my real guitar -- just a statement
This is not canon. This is Nintendo fanboyism with a few changes made to attempt to throw people off.
>I ownec around 10+ xbox gamepads and they were all cheap plastic trash,
then whyd you buy so many? I've bought 360 pad and it's lasted me like 7 years
>WAAAAH MUMMY DA BAD BOY POSTED SUMTING DAT MADE ME CRYCRY
>I WAN BOOBY PLS IN MY MOUTH
>MAKE ME STOP CRYCRY MUMMY BOOBY IN MY MOUTH
>NOOOOOWW>....gulpgulpgulpgulp
>thank u mummy for bbooby milk it make me feel better :^)
I know. That sounds like a fad. It's the cool new thing no one shuts up about and everyone in the planet gets/plays and then it's just dead. Maybe too much hype and too little substance to last forever.
A ponzi/pyramid scheme is all about having new people be the source of money for old investors in a project. It doesn't seem to really apply here. It's not like the early adopters are somehow getting their money back making it a worthwhile investment by pawning off their guitars to new people or... something.
use paint or some other shit to fix the n64 controller
I have anger issues and i vent on materialistic things, especially gamepads. Doesnt change the fact that they are uncomfortable, stiff and cheap especially the wird ones (the vanilla start of the life cycle of the x360, battery driven ones are pretty robust but arent produced anymore)
>I ownec around 10+ xbox gamepads
Most people don't throw their controllers around like an idiot. I've owned my original wired 360 controller for PC for 10+ years now and it still functions perfectly. The only controllers I've ever known to "wear out" with regular use are N64 controller analog sticks.
How does it feel knowing most kids learn how to manage their anger properly at around the age of 5-8?
replace analog with gamecube analog
done
>I've owned 10 xboc gamepads because they're the only ones I use and i have a habit of throwing them against the wall and floor
alright man
Cut it faggots, not an argument. Its cheap shit, too stiff to use, too big and too uncomfortable. Right now, you are the children with anger issues. State an argument or fuck off
They fixed that issue when they released the Xbox one s. You can push the whole button on newer ones
if the controller if so shit why did you bought it 10+ times?
>dualshock only 10/10 despite being garbage
>Xbox Elite lower than Xbox One
>360 and OG Xbox controller revision that low >Steam controller in bottom
OP is a handlet confirmed.
Because xbahwks didnt suddenly start supporting actual good gamepads. Now explain how 360 is exactly as good as xbox one gamepad
The controllers are not cheap. They are built to last many many years. I'm pretty sure all of us who didn't throw their controllers all over like savages still have it fine and intact. My argument is my controller I've owned since release sitting right there on my desk. The only sign of wear is the rubber pad on the left sick being gone, possibly from sweat. There's another 2 perfectly functional controllers stored that belong to my roommate and his xbox.
The issue is not in the 10+ controllers you bought, the issue is you keep breaking the controllers you get.
This is just utterly pathetic. No controller is or should be designed to withstand a manchild temper tantrums.
