Something's wrong with mom, so I'm taking her apart to fix her!
Something's wrong with mom, so I'm taking her apart to fix her!
Cringe
She's the Lucina of her series. Worthless waifutrash.
Are you manbabies ready for Athena Cykes Ace Attorney?
For me it's Dual Destinies, the best Ace Attorney game.
Why aren't more AA game dark like this? I like when the characters are all silly and cartoony and shit but the story gets dark at the end. SoJ was too damn silly. AAI2 was the sweetspot.
Because it's not some shitty fucking anime. Go watch higurashi or something faggot.
>it's not some shitty fucking anime
>literally LITERALLY has anime cutscenes
And then again, how does a darker story imply anime? If anything, SoJ went overboard with the anime which why it fucking sucks.
DD was the one that went overboard with it
>stupid fucking edgy child shit
>case 3 is LITERALLY about the fucking power of friendship
>the whale shit
god what a shit game. soj just had the dumb spirit bullshit thats been in the game since the beginning.
>hating on one of the best cases in the series
I agree the whale case was shit though.
Yeah
>SoJ was too damn silly
The fifth case got horribly dark, especially with Queen Garan and her bullshit.
The 3DS was a mistake.
3ds releases should have stopped at mh4u
>*ruins your series*
Heh, nothin personnel Takumi.
for all the edge and brooding, i loved blackquill as a character.
Edgeworth is still best prosecutor though.
As bad as people say AJ is, at least it didn't go full animu like the 3DS games.
Who was the most competent defense attorney?
Well being it that he didn't want to make anymore phoenix wright games after Apollo, no wonder.
lol?
AA4 is by far the darkest AA game.
If you seriously think OMG BLOOOD is what makes an AA game dark, you need to grow up.
>for all the edge and brooding, i loved blackquill as a character.
Well, being stuck in death row for a murder of your mentor that you didn't even do for a few years would do that to you.
It's a wonder he didn't immediately leap out and strangle Fulbright after he's revealed to be the true murderer.
Agreed, looking back I think AJ should have been the last game in the Phoenix storyline.
Well with all the "power of justice" shit walking around that just wouldn't do i suppose.
I feel Fulbright was just a copout hue though
>implying 5-3 is good
>calling the only great case in DD shit
Fuck right off.
He literally ruined it himself with Apollo Justice. What a piece of shit game. No wonder he stopped making them.
>Apollo becomes cool
>They leave him on some backwards third world country
Apollo became such a fucking awful gary stu, I hope he stays there and fucks off for good.
Lord, SoJ ruined him so fucking bad with even more shitty DARK AND TRAGIC backstory shit, as if he didn't have enough of that.
Mia Fey
What's so great about the DLC case? There were 0 memorable characters beside the penguin dude and the ending fucking sucked, the orca was never actually dead, never killed anyone and the pirate guy didn't even want to kill the captain guy. The villain of the case was literally a heart attack.
>looks and behaves exactly as she did when she was 8
Why even bring her back in the first place?
>He literally ruined it himself with Apollo Justice
Takumi actually had a very minor role in AJ. He pretty much just created Apollo and that song in 4-3. Some newbie was the director for the game.
>I didn't understand that the ending was a tribute to Moby Dick about how foolish it is to hold curses on whales
Pic related is you
fanservice
She's changed more than Maya at least.
You can tell Takumi didn't like the direction the mainline took with this game, especially about bringing Phoenix back. He might not state it, but clearly he doesn't want anything to do with the mainline anymore.
And I agree. DD and SoJ directions just feel like "some big shit is happening and will wrap itself up at the end of the game with no loose ends"
It doesn't feel cohesive or that they're connected to each other. They don't feel like old AA where you just solved seemingly unique, random cases with some big bad at the end. Now it's ALL CASES ARE CONNECTED and EVERYTHING IS RELATED and IT ALL COMES TOGETHER AT THE END OF THE GAME
Like, that shit worked for AAI games, sure, but it's gotten old in the mainline. AA3 only sort of did this because it was supposed to be the end of the series and had to bring the past two games to a closure.
Adding to this, it feels like they're just going to keep the formula of having AA7 have this huge plot premise about something BIG happening and shit, and that it will be once again the entire game having that overarching storyline.
They're also going to shove another trial minigame gimmick as selling point as well. New prosecutor with likely a TRAGIC past and some new girl or something.
Honestly, AA is so fucking predictable and stale now that I'm really indifferent about the series now.
...
i just wanted to hug her and tell Everything would be alright.
I love all the games, fight me.
Even the worst AA games are pretty damn good.
Grossburg
>the ending was a tribute to Moby Dick
Pure kino.
>dude just turn your thinking around
>just smile lmao
>figure it out nerd, I already know how to win this case but I'm just gonna stand here and watch you screw up
>and watch you screw up
She always came to help Phoenix when he's about to lose, though.
Naruhodo Ryunosuke
To fuck a hot loli too. Fucking piece of shit.
Going off of sheer wins it's obviously Phoenix.
Traditionally it would either be Miles or Gregory.
Good. I don't want to see his faggot face ever again.
>Gets a new super secret backstory every game
That's sue shit right there.
It sure as fuck isn't Kristoph.
What was her name again?
What? A lot of AA games get pretty dark
>Apollo gets to tap Rayfa
Lucky
...
Sure, I hope Blackquill is still relevant too.
Autistic screeching aside, Kristoph was an invincible lawyer. The only reason he lost was because the entire legal system was torn to the ground and built back up solely to nail him after seven straight years of investigation.
I wonder how competent he actually was if he had to prepare forged evidence for the Gramarye trial. Who's to say he didn't use that kind of underhand tactics for his other cases too?
So this is where Bonesaw was stolen from.
Best girl.
>Be you a priest, saint, queen or god.
Best line in the game
Apollo was really good in 6-5
>watch higurashi
kill yourself mate
>putting sebastian in the same tier as athena and above ray and franziska
sebastian was literally a retard
I know right, recommending to watch higurashi instead of reading the vn in almost 2018 is blasphemy
I would unironically play a spin-off about Athena and his cute assistant Weebquill
I don't regret wasting a second of my life on "bad" Ace Attorney games
Thousand times this. Yamazaki perfected "ALL CASES ARE CONNECTED" shit in AAI2, he should do something new already. Nope, 4 games in a row same shit. I mean, I guess AAI2 and SoJ were an improvements over their respective predecessors, it's just ONE thing that Ace Attorney can't afford to make stale is writing. Ace Attorney doesn't need mini-games for variety, it doesn't even really need various magical gimmicks to tell someone is bullshiting, all it needs is original writings.
Japs may pan Takumi on making first DGS feel incomplete all they want, at least he attempted to make something new.
Haven't been paying attention to AA for a while. Has Investigations 2 gotten a translation yet?
>Has Investigations 2 gotten a translation yet?
There's a top tier fan translation that's been out for some years now. Definitely worth playing.
Neat. Thanks.
They released AAI1 recently for mobile phones, so who knows.
Yeah, they don't really have any excuses not to localize it this time, so there's at least a chance.
>Nope, 4 games in a row same shit
Name those four games? DD's cases aren't connected at all, its setup is much more like something like T&T
people like you are the reason i want everyone that's ever played or supported english """"ace attorney"""" to hang themselves
Honestly SoJ and DD feel like the formula between AAI2 and T&T which is fine by me. I can relate to the "the games seek for an overarching story, it was all a plan slowly unfolding since the beginning" thoughts but I don't think it's entirely a bad thing as long as the story is good (and it still is)
I don't get the "ruined series" and whatnot garbage that gets sprouted here every now and so often, the games still feel like a mystery soap opera, great characters, great moments, great twists. Not flawless but enjoyable like few things.
You can go to /jp/ and make a Gyakuten Saiban thread if you're so booty bothered about people playing the localisation.
English versions got better voice acting for all the character voice clips.
Except Calisto Yew.
what the fuck
I haven't played AA since AA5. Not that I disliked it (in fact I liked it quite a bit) but I just stopped there. Haven't played the rest in a good while too.
Should I play the entire fucking series again? I'm one of those weirdos who don't consider Apollo Justice as a bad game at all.
Sure, there's always stuff you don't remember. I'd recommend just going for the games you haven't played, though. There hasn't been a bad one yet.
>the best Ace Attorney game.
Absolutely not. The puzzles were incredibly easy, the character designs were way too over the top, and the anime cutscene were awful.
