Am i the only one who has trouble playing FPS because of how they make me dizzy

No, there are lots of pussy ass niggas like you.

If the field of view is too low first person games makes me really dizzy too. That's one of the reasons I never play console games.

i think playing them on tv is bad for me because i have a 50 inch but playing them on a 24 inch pc is way better

This. Increase your FOV.

The console FOV of 55-70 makes me feel sick and I've been playing FPS games since they were invented.

/thread

wife has the same problem but it extends to 3rd person 3d shit as well. Apparently she was totally fine as a kid until she played Spyro on PS1. Now if she fires up anything 3D she gets legitimately ill so she's relegated to 2D indie stuff for the most part.
Seems like a real fucking bummer desu.

I would swap with you. I get headaches and nausea if I play games longer than set amount. Console games on my TV is especially bad about it, I had to play Mario Odyssey exclusively on the handheld mode to play longer than two hours per day. I have no idea what could be causing it. On PC it isnt as bad but my head still feels incredibly dull and numb after long PC gaming sessions.

The only game that made me kinda sick was Jak & Daxter on the Vita, oddly enough I think it was the poor framerate

Probably the FOV as mentioned previously in the thread. Try figuring out what the value should be and play for extended amounts of time.

I used to get motion sickness from playing shooters with a low fov, but somehow got over it.

I would love to try and figure it out but the games I tend to play dont have FOV sliders.

Some games have FOV values in their ini files or other hidden places. What games in particular do you have trouble with on PC?

I meant it quite literally, as I dont think games like Darkest Dungeon or Endless Space 2 have options like that.

Ouch, yeah. Maybe try using those seasick pills to help for those long sessions.

I seem to get fatigued playing something like Doom megawads, 32 levels is a lot and the community has shat out a ton of good ones

Doom is the game thats ever made me sick, the way the gun sways side to side and the fast movement makes me wanna hurl after a few hours.
Its a shame cause I really love the gameplay.

I think source ports have an option to turn off weapon sway.

Nigga I use a 55" tv for my pc, no problems. That said, I have never gotten a headache from looking at a screen, only if I've already had a headache for some while or migraine or some shit

>darkest dungeon
and why would you even need a bigger fov for that game. It's a side scroller

The entire nation of Japan shares your problem
No, I'm not memeing. Japan has a motion sickness/3D sickness problem, that's why they don't make FPS games. According to an Iwata Asks interview Super Mario Galaxy was actually developed with it in mind.

I get fatigued from megawads, too, but for a different reason: It gets really boring to use nothing but the super shotgun over and over again because the mapper put in tons of shotgun shells and little spare ammo for anything else. Can't use the chaingun because it's too weak. Can't use the plasma gun because you need to conserve power cells so you can use the BFG when you inevitably pick up a keycard and twenty Barons of Hell teleport in.

If you like to use any weapons other than the super shotgun, BFG, and occasionally the rocket launcher, you can just go fuck yourself apparently.

please stop this youtube

That was kinda the point, if you followed the reply chain.

Increase the FOV or sit away from your screen.

Yes but I don't get how changing the fov in a game that follows the characters in 2d space would help
