>Men run an empire spanning most of Tamriel >Falls into ruin >Society falling apart >70% of people have to live in caves and dilapidated forts >They've also been forced to resort to banditry and dark arts just in order to survive because of the lack of jobs
Move over men. It's time to let the superior leaders of the Dominion create a structured society that will improve the lives of everyone, and in time prepare them for the return to the spirit state.

I KNOW user RIGHT? ONLY MEN MAKE STUPID DECISIONS, MER COULN'T POSSIBLY MAKE DUMB DECI- >ayleids had a very advanced society with human slaves >slave rebellion happen >the ayleids goes extinct
>snow elves had a very advanced society >slaughter some snow apes >get genocided by those snow apes >the survivors become blind muts thanks to other mers
>dwemers had a very advanced society >play with the earthbones of mundus >fuck up at the most crucial part >get poof'd out of existence
>chimer had a very advanced society >make the same mistake the dwemers did >their race become burned red eyes elves
GEEE, LOOKS LIKE MER COMMIT SOME MISTAKES TOO
Aiden Green
Mer are pretty known for getting fucked over a lot 2bh.
>stop existing >fucked over by deities all the time >change skin colour

So basically we just need to wait a little before the Aldmeri Dominion fucks itself?

Reminder that the time Tamriel was considered to be in it's golden age was when there was a Dunmer as an Empress.
Colton Ross
>little footnotes >nothing to do with the Dominion
The collapse of the empire into its current husk and the ruin it has caused on a mass scale all over tamriel dwarfs the hiccups mer have had.
Adam Edwards
>dwarfs the hiccups mer have had Well, considering the empire is still alive and somewhat strong while the others races of mer are completly extinct, I'd say you're wrong.
Gabriel Fisher
Oh, you mean just like multiple older races of men are now extinct as well?
The "empire" is in such a weak state the Thalmor are allowed to walk their lands and persecute anyone they want for talos worship. Face it. The Thalmor has them over a barrel with their elvish dicks just ready to smash them again when the opportunity arises.
Evan Sullivan
I just want a TES game set in Elswyr where I can choose all of the khajit breeds
I want to play as a Ohmes Raht again
Colton Walker
But they haven't thus all you have is little speculation. And even if they do and make slaves out of nords and imperials, considering mer incredible ability to fuck up things, they'll suffer the same fate the ayyleids suffered, becoming ayleids 2.0 and a eternal reminder to any other race of mer about what will happen to them if they push humans too far.
Go ahead and fuck humans in the ass some decades, for they will fuck you out of existance in the end.

REMOVE THALMOR

Except the wild elves went extinct because a time travelling, mentally ill homosexual robot from the future poofed half their race by his own hands.
Joseph Howard
But said homosex robot was retrieved from the future by the divines, at the behest of men. So it was a direct result of mer pushing men too far.
Alexander Roberts
I asure you, if the imperials and nords become slaves, at least one crazy fuck with god-like powers will sprout and lead the elven genocide. Is in the human DNA to rebel when the mer shit push them too far.
Joseph Reed
which side to help?

There were no divine intervention when the atmorans genocided the snow elves.

I think you are missing the real point of the matter.
>The gods who are literally the planet you live on are on your side to the point that they send in nigh-immortal champions to defeat your enemies
Mer confirmed for fallen from grace, only helped by contemptible Daedra.
David Gutierrez
Except the Dwemer fucked up the Snow elves, the ancient nords just forced them out of their territory. And again, nothing to do with the Altmer/imperial/Dominion/empire relationship which is the main background storyline. The fall of the empire and rise of the Dominion has been happening in the background since morrowind. Thalmor agents are free to persecute imperial citizens, and by the end of skyrim it could have potentially lost skyrim as a territory and their emperor assassinated. It's clear as day Bethesda are leaving open the option of the Empire being on the brink of collapse, or already collapsed, going into TES VI.
>The gods who are literally the planet you live on are on your side to the point that they send in nigh-immortal champions to defeat your enemies The fact that the divines are forced to intervene in the first place to help men when shit gets real kinda says it all.
Colton Hall
You can try to twist it in any way you want to, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a way to make being a chosen people sound bad.
It doesn't really matter if you "need" divine intervention to win your battles. The fact that divinities are there for you means that you are worthy of their aid, while your enemies are not. If anything, the fact that the Divines intervened to help men reflects poorly on mer.
Jacob Sanders
>It doesn't really matter if you "need" divine intervention to win your battles. Now who's spinning things. Admit it. Men need the help of the divines to deal with Mer because they can't do it themselves when shit really hits the fan. Mer, specifically High Elves, are objectively superior beings. They might be dicks and elitist, but they're superior when it comes down to it.
Austin Hill
Even if they do need help, the fact that they get that help proves that their plight and cause is more deserving.
What this directly translates to is that mer are in the wrong, and will never achieve their goals as long as the Divines are still capable of action.
Luis Bell
Also in a more out of game sense, bethesda has always backed humans, and made elves the villains in the games, its pretty clear who they side with.
Alexander Sullivan
All of those Elven society's were considered heretics in the Summerset Isle. In reality, the only group of people who still follow Auriel's teachings are maybe the upper class in Alinor and the Psijic Order.
David Johnson
>create a structured society More like create a slave society, I'd rather die than serve some Thalmor bitch!

Dumb dwemer
Dylan Bennett
Thalmor want to genocide humans. There are no slaves in the Thalmor's ideal society except for the goblins which the High Elves have been enslaving for thousands of years.
Andrew Campbell
IIRC the Dwemer that fucked up was in morrowind besieged by the chimer, not hammerfell. Could be wrong though.
Charles Lee
This guy?
Joshua Wood
Not quite true. The Thalmor wish to end existence (mundus), and both men & elves would return to the demi-god spirit form they descended from.
Robert Murphy
>Thalmor's ideal society thats non-existance kinda
Thomas Bell
They need to remove man to reach that goal, though.
Lincoln Phillips
They don't want to destroy mundus, they want to destroy Nirn and escaped back to aetherius. Men are seen by the Elves as a twisted creation of Lorkhan, and they cannot escape Nirn without destroying all of his creations. Wrong, they want to return to their ancestors spirit forms.
Ian White
Some dwemer girls could be pretty cute if it wasn't for all that clutter.
Hunter Rodriguez
>What this directly translates to is that mer are in the wrong >Also in a more out of game sense, bethesda has always backed humans, and made elves the villains in the games, its pretty clear who they side with
And this is were things get Juicy. If you know about the creation of the mortal plane (mundus and nirn within), Then you know that the Aedra are in a tiny, tiny minority of the spirits. Most of the Spirits involved with the creation of mundus, including Magnus the main designer, thought "fuck this was a huge mistake" and fled back to aetherius. When you look up at the night sky and see all the stars, those are spirits that just thought "fuck this shit" and fucked off. The Aedra, which stayed behind to maintain Mundus and are known as the Divines are a tiny minority in terms of their views on mundus/nirn.
In the small picture of Nirn you could say the Thalmor are "wrong" for their objectives, but in the bigger picture they're actually far more in line with the overwhelming majority of spirits when it comes to their views on creation.
Caleb Rivera
Nevermind I got Mundus mixed up with Aurbis. They do want to destroy Mundus, which is also a creation of Lorkhan and encompasses Nirn, Masser and Secunda and all the planets.
Liam Hughes
But they do not have the support of those spirits, and that is why they will never achieve their goals. Men are literally the chosen peoples of Nirn, and it is folly to oppose them.
Ryan Young
>They don't want to destroy mundus, they want to destroy Nirn and escaped back to aetherius. Men are seen by the Elves as a twisted creation of Lorkhan, and they cannot escape Nirn without destroying all of his creations.
You're getting things a bit mixed up here. In order to return to the spirit from, the Thalmor need to undo creation *entirely*. Destroying nirn doesn't do that, they need to completely "undo" Mundus where all mortal life resides.
They do not need to destroy humans, but they DO need to disable all the towers and need men to stop worshiping Talos (as he acts as a tower, but only has power as long as men believe in him). Genociding mankind might help wipe out Talos worship but they don't have to do this in order to achieve their ultimate goal.
Jeremiah Clark
The Nords believed that their atmoran ancestors were not transformed into what they were by Shor but that he and Kyne created them out of nothing. If this happens to be the case, then the Thalmor will have to kill all men in order to undo Mundus as technically men were a part of Lorkhan' creation.
