I loved Fallout 3 and can objectively say that 4 was a step down.

Fallout 3 is shit. Not only in every way that truly matters, but also nitpicky ways like exiting certain menus easily.

Not saying F4 is great, but it's better than shit. Polished shit at least.

to be honest, i'm starting to realize that the games i love the most are the broken pieces of shit with a lot of weird stuff going on and with a lot of freedom like fo4

I enjoyed fallout 4. I actually enjoy videogames though.

The rpg elements were basically removed, so I understand why a lot of people hate it. I personally enjoy the fallout games for the world and locations and love scavenging for junk. Every single item in fallout 4 has a practical use, and bringing home a bunch of random junk to disassemble into components made me feel like a post apocalyptic scavver.

That's blatantly untrue. I love both, but Persona doesn't even do the same things as SMT, you can't say SMT handles its alignments better because Persona doesn't have alignments, you can't say SMT handles its Calendar System better because SMT doesn't have a Calendar System.They're too different form one another for one to do everything better than the other, because there are many things one does that the other does not.

Fallout 4 is trash and the improved shooting doesn't save it from it's retarded writing and nonexistent roleplaying since it's still not a particularly good shooter.

The problem I had with the scavenging mechanic was actually that items didn't have practical uses. They just had what they were made out of, which in some cases (screws) made sense, and other cases (ceramics) did not. You didn't go out, scavenge junk, and turn it into something useful. You went out to find raw materials that looked like every day objects, then turn them into scratch made new things.
