Gameplay discussions rarely happen because most games don't really do anything innovative with gameplay worth talking about even if the gameplay is good, or because it'd be too academically minded and Sup Forums can't have an in-depth discussion for shit. 1. Being a hipster contrarian fuck who do the exact opposite of whatever normalfags happen to be doing at any given time. Any crticism towards actually good games they pretend to hate comes in the form of saying 'it's reddit' and leaving it at that.

2. Justifying their relentless PCfaggot elitism. They buy an expensive new graphics card every year and need to make it seem like it's actually a better deal than just buying a console once every generation, so they sperg out over graphics and throw a shitfit over the most miniscule of graphical shortcomings, usually to the point of completely ignoring the gameplay altogether. Any flashy new AAA games that's just been released will have a thread on Sup Forums dedicated entirely to it's graphics and it'll be near impossible to get these fags to actually tell you if the game is good or not.

3. Waifuism. The greatest cancer of them all. If the game isn't filled to the brim with hot anime waifus to romance, it's shit. If the female characters don't look anime enough, they're ugly, and the game is shit by extension (see: Horizon Zero Dawn). These people have lived in their escapist animu fantasies for so long, they are no longer concerned with anything that isn't an animu escapist fantasy.
