But since pokemon is the only popular monster game in the 3ds and with yokai watch (financed and marketed by nintendo by the way) flopped, one cant help to feel suspiscious.

It simply isnt fair, and a fantrans would be useless since the game has mobage-like online events, many of them probably over, like the dai no daibouken event.

The mobile port has a map, and I didn’t really need a guide. I will say that the game is mostly better before you get the boat because it loses all direction the second you do. Still didn’t mean I didn’t like the game a lot, though. I honestly enjoyed just as much as I did 1, if not more.

I only played 8 and 5. Is the rest worth it?

There is literally nothing wrong with the DQ text tone in place of voices. I like a good voice over, but it's absolutely not necessary.

Anyone here actually play DQXI? I heard some mixed things about it like you have seen every location by the half point and they just have you revisit a bunch of places for mcguffions and that the combat is much easier like VIII. Hiw true is this stuff?

I don't really understand this logic. It's not like DQ is unique in not having voices. Tons of games released today do not have voice acting. Sometimes it isn't necessary or doesn't fit the game's tone.

I was and am still against what voice acting made it into BotW. It is tonally inconsistent with the series, where the only time people 'speak' it is in silly little grunts or noises. What was wrong with that?

The problem is Square Enix is still butt devastated about American retailers having so much trouble selling Dragon Quest 7 and 8.

With seven, there wasn't any supply requests from major retailers. With Dragon Quest 8, Enix wouldn't stop spamming orders to retailers, they were booked solid on shelf space, and started offering side-discounts to customers to get rid of them. Probably the only time I had ever seen a semi-new Japanese RPG offered for $15 in real life.

In Japan, voice actors are seen as legitimate stars. It would be like Morgan Freeman voicing a character in a game. So licensing becomes a problem since Japan wants a ridiculous amount of money for their yapping chihuahuas.

In America, we had the voice actor strike. So before actors were even considered, they just dumped the idea.

The obvious new problem is that, if the game has no voice acting, and is based around only text, why doesn't America have a release date?

They were in charge of marketing in America, but more and more retailers started pulling Yo-Kai Watch, and putting the items on clearance shelves, while at the same time, putting Pokemon items in that same exact space. It was extremely fishy.

The PS4 scene is much larger than PC in Japan. It was a sound business decision.
