This game is absolute dogshit. every single aspect of it is designed to frustrate
...
How is it frustrating?
Dude, you're not supposed to fight at the beginning. You need to use the movement mechanics to avoid the fight in the beginning.
Cuz he's bad and can figure out how to run away
combat is frustrating, finding stuff is frustrating, traversal is frustrating fucking everything
>playing this with friend
>making progress is infuriating because both players have to be present every fucking time
fuck that game, the combat is almost as mindless as the dead rising games too, really boring
>hates this game
>shits on dead rising too
The most pleb thread on Sup Forums right now
>Find pistol and upgrade from shitty pipe, but no ammo
>Holding up scavengers at gunpoint with 0 rounds in the chamber
best feeling
any other games that have realistic AI like this?
>durr craft weapon
>mow down horde of zombies until it breaks
>rinse/repeat
the end
You can also craft a bow and arrows. They also introduced a crossbow in the DLC.
You're supposed to rely on your environment to trap or outwit zombies and only use your weapons when you need them.
>im bad at a CASUAL game so that means its bad
Lol fucking Retard, combat is frustrating because you are underleved intentionally in the beginning so you focus on parkor and evading. Idk how traversal is hard for you. Maybe video games just arnt your thing, champ
or you can just use the weapons you make, or is that considered cheesing?
No, but it can get tedious early on constantly building and maintaining shit when you have more enemies than weapons or materials to improve them.
Combat has more options than most games out there. Wide variety of melee fisticuff moves, lots of melee weapons, many different effects, and guns. Wide variety of enemy types that keep you changing tactics.
Confirmed for not playing past hour one like a true fagit
not to mention fucking lockpicking
you're so fucking stupid it physically hurts me
Care to explain?
it's a pain in my back, not a sharp pain, it's more dull, like an ache
>play this first
>play dead island later
>dying is n upgrade of dead island
I tried dead island later on cause i heard good and bad things about it. But dying light is a lot smoother that it ruined dead island, oh well im sure it's not that great from what I've seen.
it's fun
Fuck off nigger, nobody cares what you think
...
Good, I hope it turns into cancer
you're already the cancer in my life, user :)
Then play something else
>using weapons when you can insta kill zombies with your foot
The only frustrating part for me was the second half with the apartment building where the scary babies start to apear. Imho, that part where you get stripped of your weapons and are suppised to fight in that arena in the rain, thats one of the best gaming experiences i ever had
what's your favorite game?
*frustrate casuals
The only way you can really truly cheese zombies is by running laps around the second city and spamming the car traps, you get tons of exp and the zombies will never catch you as long as you keep following a path that has car traps. This is super effective at night because zombies go full agro at night
The zombies never ever stop coming whereas your weapons eventually break or you eventually run out of ammo, going unarmed is really weak and you're likely to die eventually that way
I aboslutely adored this game and played it more than I'd like to admit when I finally got to play it.
I always ignored it cause it looked like generic zombie garbage but the game is like mirror's edge with zombies.
The day/night system is also excellent. You're legit scared of night on your first playthrough.
I think I literally speak for everyone when I call OP a faggot
I got 40 hours of fun from this game, i didn't expect it. Unlike most of the people who like this game i absolutely fucking hated the dlc. They took a parkour action game and replaced the parkour with cars. why the fuck?
If you want designed to be frustrating, go play Dead Island 2, which is made by the same dev weirdly enough.
You mean Riptide, right?
i kind of agree to be honest lmao
Idk I'm having a ton of fun playing, only about 5 hours in. Maybe you just suck.
Yep, I didn't know they were making a "2" until I checked.
This is about the only frustrating thing in the game for me. The lock picking is utter shit, thankfully you only have to do it a few times throughout the game.
this
How retarded are you? All that shit is easy
>tfw you gain the confidence to wreck shit during the night without giving a fuck about the volatiles
Felt powerful knowing I can either kick their asses or run away fast enough that they can't keep up. Crane is one helluva motherfucker.
i can understand not liking the dlc but I really enjoyed simply ramming hundreds of zombies for hours. It also felt nice to have a different kind of environment besides a semi garbage giant village and a nice oldtown style city.
...
Lmao bad
i just think its not fun. shitty crafting and combat isn't fun. Sup Forums has a boner for this game though so if you don't like it you must be an absolute retard
another faggot OP that can't play a casual streamlined AAA title. Kill yourself, unironically.
I mean there are people on here who couldn't handle Zelda's item system lmao
This is the best zombie game to come out this century.
it's unironically the best 'zombie' game out there
>waah i cant do every single ability after 30 minutes of playing and struggle with more than 3 zombies
it has very nice progression, early youre weak, climb slow, mid game you can handle some zombies, end game you annihilate them and are fast as fuck
You should give up on videogames. Go pick your nose for entertainment or something you fucking moron.
I agree tbhm8.
I dropped this game and left a negative review, only to be swarmed with literal death threats and an attempted doxx'ing
Why does this game have such rabid fanboys? I don't get it. Its not even a good enough game to garner such loyalty, surely?
The story and characters are so fucking dull I lost all interest in them within thirty minutes. The sidequests are all busywork nonsense of the highest order. The only remotely fun thing is just free roaming around but even that can get dull after a while.
is that game even in development still? I remember seeing it years ago and then there was nothing, then I saw some shit tier gameplay like a year ago and then the game just fell off my radar
how the fuck are you having problems with this game
you dont have to like it but if youre complaining about difficulty thats just embarrassing
Beats the hell out of me. The real question is why they would keep Dead Island alive when Dying Light sets all of its mistakes right.
>not speed running the game to play on nightmare + with only fists
Don't forget that power attack sound. LIKE GLORIOUS THUNDER
My dick has never felt bigger than the first time I turned around to fight one of those fuckers at night.
Also props to a zombie game with worthwhile guns for once.
>Worthwhile guns
>tfw you get a crossbow
All i need
I'm not saying you have to use the guns, I'm just sick of every game with zombies in it where you can get a gun, the guns just do bonus damage when you shoot them in the head. Dying Light you kill on headshots.
But dead island 2 was being developed by Yager Development before being replaced by Sumo Digital. Techland only made the first Dead Island game and left Deep Silver as a publisher due to an argument over "creative freedoms".
A good decision it seems since Dying Light is superior to Dead island in every way.
>WAAAAH I HAVE TO STRUGGLE FOR SOMETHING ONCE IN MY LIFE
Everything is easy as fuck, you super retard
I found Dying Light to be amazing. I'll probably replay it soon. Reaching the second map was a huge surprise. I really wasn't expecting the game to have two maps.
Technically 3, excluding sub-areas
me and my bud got this glitch and we sat and laughed at the screenshot I took for a good 5 minutes.
this and rimworld are the only games I've bought after I've pirated them just to pay back the devs.
they really deserved my money. 100% and i'm a harsh critic (which is why i pirate in the first place)
I think it would've been smart to make a ring of difficulty around the base-location that slowly expanded outwards
It would've encouraged you to master a small area first before you ventured off and explored further
Using only a couple huge maps was a really good idea though
Sounds like you are more of a gone home player.
>dyin leight is bad
...
N-nani!? He's tall!
...
combo breaker.
YOU FUCKING RUINED IT
>being so shit at a kino game that you blame the game
same user, i was reluctant to pick it up as I though it was a generic shit tier game, picked it up when there was noting to buy and was amazed of how great this game is.
One of the best games of this gen so far.
Looking forward to a sequel.
>The lock picking is utter shit,
it's the same lockpicking that is in TES games, just find the sweet spots, it gets easier as you put more practice in it.
Did anyone else hate the melee combat, even though it's the focus of the game? Once I got a steady supply of guns, I just started using that only and parkouring away from enemies. It was much more interesting and fun than a stupid electric or fire knife. Melee weapons like that completely broke the immersion.
I'm just happy melee was elevated to more than a side attack
i liked melee vs zombies but the player vs. human enemies felt a bit odd. Maybe the damage both sides take just needed to be increased a bit more to make melee combat feel a bit more deadly
for some reason I preferred the one in skyrim/fallout. Just felt tighter for some reason I can't put my finger on.
I'd say they abused the lockpicking a bit sometimes though. That shit gets boring quick and I couldn't be fucked to even attempt opening things after a while.
>slash a guy in the neck with a saw axe 12 times
>he doesn't die
...
>Get guns, shoot one
>They freak out and run
Satisfying.
I though it was a lot of fun with those cool movement mechanics.
>The best zombie game was made by Warner Bros of everything
How?
>Break his legs
>Do a finisher
>Grapple the next one into Conveniently Placed Spikerackā¢
>Chase down and dropkick the third one
>I preferred the one in skyrim/fallout
it's the same mechanic as both just dying light has tighter sweet spots.
the game is about scavaging, so they made the best loot, which is in police vans, hard to get surrounded by zombies and the game does not pause while you pick locks. They made getting the good loot a dangerous thing (until you have OP camouflage) to do.
It's a good mechanic for this game, it adds to the tension
Honestly the most frustrating aspect of the game is that as soon as you turn around, the game will spawn enemies behind you
Never happened
It does happen, and fairly often
Sucking cock
Never noticed
>Level up a bit
>Get skull-kick finisher
>Never use weapons on shamblers or virals again.
Really, the only thing in the game that are complete bullshit are the volatiles, but they're kinda supposed to be.
I agree. This game is a fine example of a game being built around a shit gimmick/mechanic (MUH PARKOUR) and missing on story, immersion and others mechanics that make a game good.
