JRPGs

All this talk about XBC2 made me want to play some good ol' JRPGs. I got pic related recently on the PSN sale so hopefully I didn't fuck up that badly.

So anyways, recommend me some must play JRPGs plz.

I've played some ff games and thought they were meh. Playing through XBC right now and enjoying it a lot. I have Estelle's game and I like it a lot even though I havn't made it through the whole thing. I got Tales of Zestiria in a humble bundle a while ago. is it worth playing?

Halp me plz I beg

Estelle's games and the sequels should last you a while.

Omega Quintet is pretty cool. Kind of like Neptunia mixed with Idolm@ster.

Aren't only the first two on steam? Is Cold Steel related to them? Don't know much about the series.

I was considering that, might still pick it up since it's 5 maplebux on the sale. I saw all the reviews are pretty low though, why do people shit on it? I don't really care about reviews if the game is fun, just curious.

>why do people shit on it?
It was made by a Compile Heart B-team, so it looks like a launch-era PS3 title.

It goes Sky FC -> Sky SC -> Sky The 3rd -> Zero -> Azure -> Cold Steel -> Cold Steel II -> Cold Steel III -> Cold Steel 4 (fuck you, kondo)

Zero, Ao, and CSIII don't have official translations. CS4 is out next year in Japan.

The only worthwhile CH game.

Helpful, many thanks frend

In that case I'll probably pick it up. Looks fun enough for $5

Metal Max Returns.

>hopefully I didn't fuck up that badly
>Fairy fencer
>Zestiria
You poor poor child

>Fairy Fencer
>bad

Advent Dark Force is actually decent.

Id give it mediocre at best, i definitely dont think its even remotely good.
Id be more pissed if i paid more than $10 for this crap.

This. That battle system is the only worthwhile thing to come out of Compile Heart.

Why is it bad user?

The first two are a complete story, and the 3rd game is an epilogue and is out. Cold Steel takes place at a later date in a different country in the same world. There's a huge overarching story going on in the series but the plots of the individual arcs are mostly self contained. Overarching story aside, there are some continuations between games but they're mostly subplots. It's extremely ideal to play in order, but it doesn't hurt to start with Cold Steel 1. I would definitely go back and play the others before 3 and onward.

Nice, I'll prob finish the first and do them in order.

I tried playing this but the MC's "I have no interest in anything and only have one tone of voice" got annoying after the first 30 mins.

Eryn has a cute voice

Someone has to play the straight man.

Ethel is cute. Treat her nicely.

Play the atelier games. The old ones are actually good.

Neptunia VII is unironically one of the best traditional JRPGs on the PS4. It's better than the game you bought on pic related too.
