Honest person here: if you ignore the light and battery life DS4 is the best controller ever. We can ignore battery and light because what makes a great controller are d-pad, analogs, buttons and triggers. Besides it's durable(I have mine for 11 months and it's like brand new) and perfectly comfortable
Honest person here: if you ignore the light and battery life DS4 is the best controller ever...
>DS4 10/10
Are you a dwarf?
DS4 10/10
Pretty good list.
But put the rest of the Xbox controllers in what wee they thinking.
How the fuck were you actually supposed to use the powerglove?
Xbox 360 controller should be 10/10. I only ever held it once but it felt so right.
DS3, DS2, 360 and gamecube are all 10s
Everything else can go into trash
No, 360 controller is way better
The n64 is in the same tier as xbox 360
Oh so you're trolling
triggers were awful. Playing a race game hurts my fingers. The first 360 controllers had smooth triggers and the Gears of war 3 too but after 2010 they started to make hard triggers because of FPS gamers. Besides the 360 d-pad is awful
360 and Wii U controllers each need moved up a tier. Maybe move 360 up to 8/10.
The Wii U controller was insanely better than I expected. Longest battery life of any controller I've ever used and felt great in my hands as opposed to dualshock. The joystick placements took some getting used to, though. I'd seriously call it one of the best parts of the Wii U.
We need a supercontroller with all advantages of good controllers and none of their disadvantages.
Besides the joycons are actually really comfortable(minus the lack of dpad) just get rid of the stupid grip and use one en each hand, its comfortable as fuck
>clean dust from plastic rotting after 4 months of use
>now your controller will last more 3 months
N64 had awful plastic analog they never fixed. And it was 79.99+tax
>10/10
>but...
?
This is the ouya
>Specific controller is 10/10
>But... OTHER controller...
You have some reading problems.
How much of a fucking little skeleton soy bitch to have your fingers hurt from playing a video game? You have no right to complain about anything you worthless skeleton fuck.
In other topic, gamecube controller is overrated, the dpad is straigh up bullshit, it lacks another z button and the placement of the face buttons is unnecesary
>DS4 is the best controller ever.
No, it's totally, broken, antiquated fucking garbage.
Sony needs to fix that broken shit and move out of the 90s. .
>posting a salad of meme buzzwords instead of making a valid argument
Did you macro those words to the macro buttons of your gaymen keyboard?
because you never owned a 360 controller made after 2010/2011
try to play a racing game you'll see. They changed the trigger springs to make it faster for FPS players
Thanks for the insults and for making a good comment
...
reminder that sony never bothered to change the controller until the ds4
The guy I insulted isn't even as upset as you user. Maybe you should hit the gym if you took that so hard.
do you realize you have more control of the analog if your thumb is placed diagonally?
This
>if you ignore these problems, it's the best
That's not how it works. You can say it was the best ergonomics or best d-pad or whatever, but you can't say "ignore the issues" when saying that something is the best something overall, because those issues are a part of it.
reminder that symmetrical sticks are retarded
but the issues aren't related to anything other than cosmetics and battery life
I use USB cable so the only issue I have is the lightbar
Sorry user, battery life IS a problem that lowers the score
why put the elite under the regular xbox one controller?
no. If that was the case I would lower the 360 score even more. 2 AA batteries in a very bad place where if you have big hands are a problem when holding the controller
I only consider what is relevant and not battery and aesthetics
In cases where a controller is objectively superior, what is stopping a company from just copying a better design? I know there are patents and such, but can't they just make the same controller but deviate the designs ever so slightly to avoid infringement? Xbox really does btfo Playstation when it comes to controllers so I can't help but wonder why Sony doesn't just get with what works better. Brand recognition? Respect? Laziness?
1) expensive
2) horrible d pad for regular gaming (other than FPS)
It gets a good score for the analog, triggers and build quality (considering you didn't get the first shipment of faulty units)
Do it then. an Ideal controller is one that''s not only comfortable and responsive, but also has a great battery life
REMINDER
>DS3, DS2, and DS1 (+Analog) not a 9/10
>Retarded Xbone controller without a d-pad anywhere besides what-were-they-thinking-tier
OP just please stop posting
Let's take a look to a top tier controller
>10 scale
>lowest score is 6
Shit list. SNES is 10/10, joycons feel great, N64 is too low, there's no way PS4 controller is 10/10. The modern 10/10 controller would the design of the Switch controller basically but a better D-pad, analog triggers + HD rumble. That shit is really nice.
show me a controller worse than this
>built in calculator so you can do the math
why people love the DS3? it's the worst controller ever made
it's DS2 with bad triggers and awful analog (less precise)
>t. fag who put his controller down the wrong way and hit the npc in front of him in dark souls
when I get sad that I'm a failure I watch Atari Jaguar launch, controller and the console technical specifications. Even if you give a paper to crack addict he couldn't do a worse job designing a controller
If you ignore all the faults of the ds 4 yeah it's not too bad of a controller
That fucking disgusting 3d Sega Saturn one.
Through sensors on your TV and punching in codes for each game.
Or by using the fucking controller attached to it.
Its literally imposible to fail more than the jaguar
>If you ignore all the flaws with this its a 10/10
You can apply this logic to any controller. That wont chance the fact that all Dualshocks are at best 7/10
...
Tell me ANYTHING that makes symmetricals sticks better than asymetricals
Got an audible laugh outta me dudester
I'm a Sonyfan and a Sea crustacean so they fit my hands better.
No OG NES or Master System controller?
What about the dog bone?
reminder that Switch pro controller's design is 9.5/10
Add analog triggers and its a 10
scoliosis and other things.
Anthony Burch
I dunno user.
The d-pad fucking sucks.
Nintendo WiiU Controller >>>>>>>>> Nintendo Shits ASSymmetrical Controller
It's unfair to put NES controller there
the original NES model was not good but it had a good d-pad. I'd give 7/10 but that would cause massive console war
360 should be at least an 8/10
its actually a comfy controller. although id like to know what the detachable cord is for
If it weren't for Nintendo and their shitty D-Pad Copyright then the Xbox 360 controller would be a 10/10
Let's not forget about the best controller ever made
I was about to say the Wii U Pro should at least be 8 or 9, but then I remember the digital triggers.
Otherwise, hot damn, that comfy, non-creaky feel and the battery life on it were great.
>Gamecube controller only a 6/10
You're shitting me, right? It's easily at least an 8/10.
As I said before, GC is overrated that dpad is absolute shit, it lacks another Z button and the placement of the face buttons is unnecesary
Is there a more badass controller?
Its so badass its completly impractical
What are you talking about?
All the controllers are pretty much the same only with minor differences.
Ds2 is fucking retarded... Ds3 less so the ds4 besides the LEDs is the best controller Sony has made...
Reminder that all modern controllers are derivated from the Snes controller
t. Sonybro
The Xbone one is a massive improvement, with the best thumbsticks I've ever used.
Well, it (obviously) started with arcade cabinets then led to NES controller which led to the SNES controller and so forth
Not really.
Especially 2D games are awful with it
Can we all at least agree this is the best type of thumbstick?
Holding it like that, you can't reach the L button or use the D-Pad at all without moving your entire hand.
Great design.
The L button is almost NEVER USED
Same for the Dpad
Xbox 360 controller (without the autismo battery pack version) is literally the best controller ever designed, if you disagree, you're retarded.
I wish a controller with both a good stick and d-pad would exist.
DS4 is pretty much the only modern controller to have a good d-pad for 2D games, but doesn't have great sticks.
The rest of the controllers have shit d-pads, or placed too far from your thumb, or both.
The Wii U Gamepad is actually close to have both good and well positionned stick and dpad.
Here's an idea: swap the DS4 sticks with DS2 sticks.
DS2 sticks weren't that good
How would a controller created by Sup Forums look like?
DEEL-DO
DS4 without lightbar and share(also better battery)
>smooth triggers
What? My old grey/black (rev1) controller has the same triggers as my black/black (rev2) just in a different color.
dumb reaction image
Did any games actually use those telephone buttons
Games had overlays you slid over the numpad. It was still shit.
>does not have analog buttons
>best anything
NSW pro is really, really fucking good. I prefer it over my DS4 and Xbone S. It won’t work with my PC, tho.
some of them did, stil it was the most unnecesary thinkthey could've make
as far as I know you can use it in pc through bluetooth, its not xinput obviously
Yeah and newer games don’t support xinput
>posting the kinect
>not the superior motion sensor controller
wait what? But almost every game uses Xinput
Ok, then I don’t know what I’m talking about. I tried it, it paired and connected on my PC, but didn’t work. Needs more testing then.
>xbone higher than 360
t. never owned an xbone controller. 360 is still far superior.
>tiny thumbstick
>best
you must have hands of a midget.
The Switch Pro controller uses DirectInput, not XInput. You can use x360ce to work around that, though.
I was refering to the type of thumbstick not to that imparticular, you know the concave sticks
