The fact English dubs are so fucking bad I'd rather listen to gibberish language.
i'd rather listen to japanese voices than obese amerimutt goblins
>平成二十九
>EOP
wwwwwwww
i want to fuck that bune
Beat me by like 1 second but this Common thing people like to say is "if you don't understand japanese how can you tell the dub is good?" It's because I can tell that the English dub is atrocious so I'd rather put something that I don't know if it's good or not, but to me it sounds better than the dub
They idolize japan, and since they don't understand the language they don't really understand the nuances of it or whats good/bad about it, so they just think it's perfect.
えーーー?!なんだと?!えーーー?!
I do this for every country.
I played Metro in Russian
I played The Witcher in Polish
I play all Japanese games in that language
The term EOP doesn't make any sense.
It's possible to know multiple languages other than English and still not know Japanese.
>Change to the English dub
>Half the male cast is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal
>Switch to another Japanese game
>Same problem
That's why
>change language to japanese which you don't even understand
That's entirely the point. Most VAs are ear bleedingly terrible, and western VAs trying to do weeb stuff doubly so.
If it's in a japanese, I won't notice unless it's some extra terrible VA.
>be anglo
>letting what others do with their money and free time bother you
I don't know, OP. You tell me.
...
>Imagine living in a country that doesn't understand subtitles
>it's the Yuri Lowenthal and Laura Bailey Show!
I usually play the tutorial, if any, with dubbed language. If shit, I start over with Jap.
Because I prefer japanese voices.
What other languages actually benefit people in terms of vidya? Polish for CD Projekt games is about the only thing that comes remotely close and that's still only one developer.
私はそのバニーと性交したい
>be non-American
>new hollywood movie comes out
>WATCH IT IN ENGLISH WTF???? NO DUB???
WHAT DRIVES THESE PEOPLE?
Korean and Mandarin.
So Korean MMOs and what? What chingchong games are actually worth playing?
>Same voice actor with two difference characters taking to each other
Always the weirdest thing and really takes me out of the game.
Jap girls have hot voices don't judge me homo
>you can know 10 languages, but if one of them isn't Japanese you're an EOP
This makes no fucking sense
>not picking and choosing based on the quality of the dub or dialogue
inb4 HURR ORIGINAL JAPANESE ALWAYS BETTER, no it fucking isn't, there's at least a few dozen anime with better English versions than Japanese versions.
Same thing that makes it such that a disproportionate percentage of any furry or brony convention are white people. They're just weirdos.
This. I just pick whatever i like more. This is why the latest Street Fighter games are good, you can pick whoever voice you want for every character. Es: ENG Ken, JP Akuma, JP Ibuki, ENG FANG, etc.
Post bunny cunny
Because they don't want to lose their internet weeb cred. If the dub is good then it's better than playing it in japanese.
>play Japanese game
>play with english VA
What drives these people
I speak Japanese, and let me tell you, JP dubs are broing as fuck. That and in fantasy games they use so many fucking english terms I often wonder why bother dubbing it in Japanese in the first place.
Is that why English dubbing is so awkward and unnatural in the first place?
>JP dubs are broing as fuck
From my literally ability to hear they aren't. english dubs are boring as fuck which is why no one but normalfags use them.

Wanting to hear a language they understand?
Do you watch all foreign-made films in a language you don't comprehend?
Yes, because you probably don't understand what they say. Japanese, especially the stunted shit they use in modern times is so formulaic and drab. You know when people get a giggle when a english trailer uses "an ancient evil awakens" for the xth time? Japanese is full of these set phrases. I will give you that they are very good at overacting and putting volume into their voice, but my nigger, once you understand the shit that won't save it.
Not that an english dub is much better. It just sounds better to people who don't speak any moon, I suppose.
Yes who the hell doesn't.
I want to fuck Judy
They are usually subbed so why not?
It's harder to tell when a VA is shit if you can't understand it.
I watch/play all media in its original language as intended. Have subs for the ones I don't understand, and sometimes go subless of I can somewhat understand it, if it's a Latin-based language. But that depends on the media. Sometimes I even watch English movies with subs.
Shitty voice acting
In some cultures only material for small children is dubbed and watching the original language is considered the only authentic way. This is obviously less important for video games or animation than live action film, but I still prefer using the original language. I played The Witcher games in polish as well, for example.
This
They could be the tommy wiseau of nips, not like I'll notice the difference
>Do you watch all foreign-made films in a language you don't comprehend?
Fuck yes. The actors are all acting out the scenes in that language.
Looking at people whose mouths and expressions don't match what is being said on the screen voluntarily is retarded.
Voice tracks are not even separate in movies. The only real version is the one of the language it's been produced in.
Every foreign dub has to force their studio-recorded lines into the real thing by trying their best to mute the original voices while leaving the ambient sounds and music tracks intact. That's not possible to do without tons and tons of errors.
Unless you are a second year elementary student and still struggle reading your own damn language, you have absolutely no excuse to be watching foreign movies dubbed.
I CAN'T WATCH STAR WARS AT THE THEATERS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THEY ONLY PLAY THE DUBBED VERSION UNLESS I DRIVE TWO AND HALF HOURS TWICE. I FUCKING HATE RURAL FRANCE!!
>broing
>Staring at subtitles for the whole game because you're choosing a language that you don't even understand because you think it sounds better even though Japanese is even more boring in its structure and writing than English every time.
You're a genuine fucking weird person if you do this. Go outside.
>Watching Disneywars
Basically. If someone watches classic foreign films like The Bicycle Theif in any language other than its original Italian format, I consider them plebs.
>la campagne
REGARDEZ-LE ET RIGOLEZ
>Staring at subtitles for the whole game
Yeah people who can't read are truly weird and should be shot up on sight.
>missing the point this badly
Well if you can't quickly scan subtitles while not missing out any of the movie/show/game, then you might be a brainlet
I want to ____ that bun
>captcha: centrum foxwood
I do it out of habit honestly. Not an anglo, so dubs in my language used to be even worse than those in English, and most of text translation were "this guy are sick" or "all your base" tier as well.
So I always went out of my way to use media in their original language whenever that was possible. I also think dubbing media is detrimental as a whole because hearing and reading other languages as a kid was good for my brain.
Now that every non indie game has a gorillion shekel budget, the dubbing and translation is usually of good quality, even though it's sometimes censored.
Also, retarded or embarassing dialogue isn't so bad when you don't understand the language and just read subs. I played the princess maker 2 remake last night, could have I done that if it was dubbed in my mothertongue ? Hell no, if I had to hear that without the emotional barrier foreign languages provide, I would have been to ashamed of myself to keep playing.
>Not playing ACII and ACB with italian VA
>Not playing Witcher with polish VA
>Not playing Persona with japanese VA
>Not playing Stalker with ukrainian VA
>Not playing Metro with russian VA
You should always play the game with the most fitting language and if the game doesn't have any particular setting then you should go with either original VA or the VA that sounds the best to you.
If your excuse is "but I can't read subtitles fast enough" then maybe you shoud kill yourself, brainlet.
And I'm only speaking about video games, in case of movies if you watch anything dubbed when you can watch it in original language with subtitles then you should commit sudoku right now.
kek not only can you not read quickly you're also a literal brainlet.
Dubs are trash and I'm not illiterate.
I need their voices to sync with their mouths.
Fucking murricans too lazy to read subs
>playing AC 2 in Italian
>a game made by frogs
>was made for English VA
>Italian VA is a dub, sometimes doesn't sync as well as the English one
Autism right here
Oh shit, Metro in Russian sounds incredible.
>shitty gook MMOs
>worth playing ever
this is coming from someone who's probably sunk over 1000 hours into various ones
Japanese VAs:
>a legitimate profession
>tons and tons of very talented people to choose from
>usually have lots of experience doing anime
Western VAs:
>internet celebrities like Ashly Burch who got into voice acting because "I love video games" and have no real background or training in any sort of acting
>people like Wil Wheaton or Peter Dinklage who get hired because "WOW LOOK EVERYONE IT'S A FAMOUS CELEBRITY BUY OUR GAME!" but they end up being complete and total dogshit, because their experience comes from movie acting which is completely different from voice acting
>random people you hire from Tumblr or Twitter
>and a couple of talented people like Nolan North and Laura Bailey who are in like 99% of video games and you get tired of hearing their voices
Nice weeb biais right here.
You deem that Japanese VA is superior than English one but I'm certain you don't even speak the language fluently.
Prove me wrong fag.
Holy shit. I thought I was the only one that did this.
>it's OK if Japan does it
>commit sudoku
You mean like suicide? That's called seppuku.
this
Are you Italian?
...
>you have to know the language to know that the voice sounds like shit
That's fucking retarded. You can like voices more just based on their tone or whatever. I don't have to speak japanese to like Norio Wakamoto and i don't have to speak english to like Patrick Seitz, and i don't have to speak portuguese to know that youtube.com
>do you watch all foreign-made films in a language you don't comprehend?
Yes, you absolute fucking moron. The entire fucking world does, outside of stuff aimed at literal children.
That's the joke.
it's so bad it's good, even better when you know what they're saying
VEGETAAAA OLHA BEM
>i-if you don't you speak the language fluently you can't tell if it's good or bad! i don't know what vocal tones are!
