There's not much of an excuse to not know what's appealing to straight women now that you can go on tumblr or twitter or any other site and see what kind of guys they're posting. I mean, even in the 90s and 00s you could just pick up a girl's magazine and see what kind of guys they put on the centerfold. Huge bara muscular naked men are in the minority. It's mostly slender/lean/athletic guys.

Women and men usually have totally different ideas of what makes a sexy female character sexy. Most men think women will look at a caricature with largest tits possible and wonder why women don't also think it's as sexy as they do.
