DARKNESS IMPRISONING ME

SO FAR AWAY

WELL THE DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA

LAY DOWN, SLEEP MY LITTLE DARLING

It's sad that the rhythm genre died off. This series was pretty good.

Rip GH

If you miss guitar hero like i do, download Clone Hero, it's literally the best guitar hero ever made and it's made in unity by one guy. You can even import setlists from gh games, i currently have 4000 songs and i'm having a blast. All you need is a wired 360 guitar or a wireless one, but in that case you'll need the microsoft dongle.

DARKNESS
IMPRISONING ME

shill

Guitar Hero 3 is the game that made me realize modern TVs/consoles have serious input lag problems, it was fucking obscene moving from PS2/GC/XB to 360 and PS3. I've gotten used to it now but fuck it was rough back then.

I DON'T WANNA SEE THE DAAAAAAAAAAY

>free game
>shilling

Don't understand how to they made GH3 and then made a game with songs that noone wants to play

shill

god gh3 was soo good. I was autistically good at that game as a kid, kinda wanna pick it back up again

It's the TV, not the console.
Console rhythm games were one benefit of being a poorfag still using a CRT

I sure can't wait to play all those songs that are looped on classic rock radio!

Yes but unironically
I was the shit

My name is Jonas was the only song I ever FC'd on expert

>he doesn't like to play dadrock with a plastic guitar

this but unironically

SPOOOOOOOOONMAAAAAAAAAAAAN

milked to death

It's easy really. No one expected GH3 to be popular so they added all the fun songs they could get.
It got insanely popular and the record labels wanted in to spread their cancer like they did in the radios. They even wanted to patch real life commercials in as billboards which then alternated with further patches, depending on who was paying.
If it was a thing of today/still running, they would have Despacito in their playlists
It was ruined by corporate greed and capitalism.

reminder that GH3 had the worst engine

The Rock Band 4 kits are pretty cheap now. Shame the songs themselves are still so expensive.

OH NO

THERE GOES TOKYO GO GO GODZILLA

BUT THEY FAILED HAHAHAHAHAHA

>tfw GH6 had a great setlist and a really cool story mode but nobody played it

the pinnacle of the entire genre right here

Who /could only beat story mode on medium and never could play higher than hard/ here

>finally put The Protomen in a Rock Band title
>remove keyboards
>strip down character customization so you can't make cool Mega Man armor for your character to wear

JUST

In the off chance any of you still play RB3, go nuts:

I gave up on Raining Blood expert
I could do everything except that one bit. I'd go back and beat it but I don't have any desire to

youtube.com/watch?v=0OBs6S1lW_Q

*frantic tapping noises*

The most fun song to play.
youtube.com/watch?v=f3rz_DFNENk

It's fun as fuck to play on real guitar too.

Most fun drums songs? I have RB4 but none of the exports so I'm stuck with DLC options.

Kool Thing and If 6 Was 9

I got into The Smashing Pumpkins because of this

Adore best album though

>not cherub rock

bat country

THE CHOO-CHOO TRAIN LEFT RIGHT ON TIME

A TICKET COSTS ONLY YOUR MIND

Listening to Cherub Rock right now though

YOU WALK ON LIKE A WOMAN IN SUFFERING

Also Green Day's Dookie and American Idiot albums are good for drums if you're looking to make bulk purchases.

>Not Mellon Collie & the infinite sadness

THE DRIVER SAYS HEY MAN WE GO ALL THE WAY

Thanks brehs.

>not Frets on Fire

t. underage

>not 1979

Mellon Collie is fucking close second.

Frets on Fire was never very accurate and it hasn't been updated in years.
Are you retarded?

4 had a couple of good songs.

I did...don't have the games or the guitars anymore tho.

Can we agree GH2 had better songs?
GH3 was better executed but half the playlist is lame as hell.

>yfw Vinyl Tracklist

Makes the album that much better

Friendly reminder that you can play Rock Bands and Guitar Heroes on PS2 and Wii emulators while emulating the plastic guitar with any normal controller, you'll have to get used to pressing two buttons or more at the same time (picking + whatever color) but for the most part it works pretty well

t. Pleb

>not today

Smashing Pumpkins sucks
>clothespin nose vocals

But where's the fun in that

nice blogpost

nice le epic vee meem

I'm in a successful rock band. If it wasn't for The Fall of Troy being in this game I would have never played guitar. I owe Neversoft my career.

SO FAR AWAY, WE WAIT FOR THE DAAAAY

>GH2
>Jessica
The best song in the whole series. Only thing that comes close is Cliffs of Dover.

nice redditpost

True but Guitar Hero 3 had Holiday in Cambodia

Clone Hero is far better. It was built to be a replacement for GH3PC.

Yes but only because Trogdor

I'd play this if it would accept my Rock Band 4 Xbone Controller

>tfw waiting forever for Rock Band to come back with Rock Band: The Strokes

i'll even take a 2 album DLC pack in RB4 for fuck's sake i'm so tired of the usual garbage that harmonix has the pennies to afford nowadays

Where's the fun in what? It's exatcly the same except you don't have a tiny, dumb looking plastic guitar on your lap

my friend used to play with controller instead of the guitar and we were trying to beat raining blood for days on expert.
one day im just sitting there watching him.
hits all the gallops and when it gets to that HOPO part he hits it all until the last 4 or so notes and he becomes to tired to finish the song. was such a highlight moment.

and then i managed to beat it one day and i moved on to TTFAF spending so much time just trying to beat the opening and only once did i ever actually hit atleast 60% of the notes for the intro, but i did beat it with friends watching and it was glorious.

>tfw rhythm games are all weebshit now.
well at least persona has good music.

sauce

of course we can agree, it's objective fact.

>it's exactly the same except for the core part of the game

This is the most metal sex game I've ever played:

cuntwars.com/?redeem=LWMFBE

What are some of your other favorite rhythm games, Sup Forums? I've played Beat Hazard and Audiosurf to death, and I'd like to try something new.

I'm just gonna say what we're all thinking
DJ Hero died too soon.

youtube.com/watch?v=EE1Qy3sTDCM
youtube.com/watch?v=YDoMoWDY2zU

>Guitar hero easily the fuckin best tracklist
>Rock band fags constantly talking about "WELL MINES BETTER FOR PARTIES I CAN DO DRUMS AND KEYBOARD AND MICROPHONE"
>go to a party with rock band
>Fucking nobody wants to play the drums except that kid who thinks he's a drummer
>Fucking fails out almost immediately because the drumkit fucking sucks and because he fucking sucks
>The girl always wants to sing
>Some 10 people waiting to play the guitar
>Guitar hero jumps on the "LOL WE GOT EVERY INSTRUMENT TOO" bandwagon
>They start including gay boring songs because "you can sing along to this and the drums are exciting even though they barely fucking work"
The band thing killed the genre

DJ Hero was fucking great. It's one of the few rhythm games that tried to expand gameplay past "press a button in time with the song" and it's great.

Did rhythm ganes ruin carry on my wayward son for anyone else? I get angry anytime I hear that song now.

beatman 2dix

Groovecoaster (I wish my fucking NESICA card was working)

Beatmania

i occasionally pop world tour in to play shit like hotel california and pull me under, and i'm always astounded by just how shit the majority of the setlist is

too bad they didn't figure out the problem until it was too late with warriors of rock, which was fun as hell and had great tracks. and then they went totally fucking backwards AGAIN

This is the first thing that pops into mind, when I see that plastic joke.

>tfw actually liked playing drums
>wasn't a fan of hitting drumpads that are so goddamn loud they overpower the volume of the tv.

Surely they had the technology for noise reduction right?

The core part of the game is pressing the buttons at the correct time in the correct order, so much so that the first three GH games didn't require a guitar at all.

I remember viciously beating my dick to Judy when I was younger.

How is Clone Hero compared to Phase Shift?

NO ONE'S GONNA TAKE MEEEEEEEEEE ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE

Who WARRIORS OF ROCK here?

Hey guys can I play too?

VOICE OF AN AEON
ANGELUS SATANI
ORA PRO NOBIS LUCIFER
YOU ALONE HAS SUFFERED
THE FALL AND TORMENT OF SHAME

Button layout is very important for a game that is 100% inputs. In any rhythm game that wasn't designed for a standard controller, the controller IS the game.
Stuff like hopo strings and fast picking just don't work anywhere near as well on a regular controller

The trick I found and everyone else found is your supposed to just sort of lightly tap and find the sweet spot because hitting it too hard half the time didn't even register and was louder than sin. But how am I supposed to lightly tap those motherfuckers when I'm drumming some Slipknot shit

>cliffs of dover
