I said, post some Gael.

*rolls 4 times with barely any stamina*

love it, great game Soulbabies

Still better than "raise your shield and win the game" like in DaS.
Also, difficulty is irrelevant, and always has been.

painter girl a cute
is the dual weilding ringed knight the same that's before Filianore's church? There's only one dual weilding ringed knight after all.

I spent five hours beating Gael with full Havel cosplay on NG +3. It was quite the close battle.

...

wt r u casul?

It never went empty after the attacks or rolls?

I like Uncle Gael to but you need to stop posting the same thread everyday

I'm fighting Gael on NG+4 right now and I can't beat him. Took me 3 tries on NG, 5 tries on NG+2 and 3, and now I'm fucking stuck.

At least I can enjoy the best soundtrack From has made so far.

>The best soundtrack from has made
Step aside, scrub
youtube.com/watch?v=3V9zxXN1rx0

BB is a masterpiece and the best soulsborne game, and every soundtrack is phenomenal, but not what I would call memorable. You member Gael's theme after hearing it once. I finished BB over 20 times and no matter how epic the soundtracks are, they don't get stuck in my mind. Unlike Taurus Demon's theme, or Gwyn's, or Majula's, or Abyss Watchers', or Gael's. When the second phase kicks in and he starts walking like the fucking Terminator, it gets stuck in your head.

Also, Maria's theme>Gehrman's theme. Now that gets stuck in your head.

who the fuck is this guy? hes the final boss and the only time you see him is when he sends you to the painted world. or did i miss a few cinematics or something?

>kino
?

The general consesnsus seems to be that Bloodborne has a lot more direction to its soundtrack, while DaS3 has a bit too much "Generic, high-speed chanting", though opinions do of course differ from person to person.
I actually think Gael's theme is the best in his first phase, where it really sells the whole "The end of the world where nothing matters anymore and you're just two dudes fighting over something that used to be important thousands of years ago"-vibe.
Once he enters the second phase it gets too frantic and chaotic for my tastes, especially considering how he's actually slower and less erratic in this phase.
Now if you want a theme that is both fast, climactic AND has a theme that gets stuck in your head easily, just look to youtube.com/watch?v=7RzA_Oomra8

I'm not saying DaS3's OST is shit, it's better than both DaS1 and 2 in my opinion, I just think Bloodborne's themes are a lot more defined and well executed.

He's a literal who, similar to the player's character, who has seemingly been overcoming great odds and collecting souls.

there is one in gael's arena but he is just way off to the side doing his own thing, normally you wont ever see him

>who the fuck is this guy
A slave knight, literally bottom of the barrel. A dude that was used as canon fodder during the war with the dragons and never relieved from duty. At some point he went "forlorn", entered the painted world, and took on a new quest, find the dark soul so that the painter loli can paint a new world.
>did i miss a few cinematics or something?
you didn't, and there's no reason to have more than one cinematic. He doesn't care about anything, he has his own goal, find the dark soul, and he was hoping you'd find him, kill him, and give the blood to the loli. He knew the dark soul would consume him, and yet he went forward, and spent literal eons searching for it.

Gael was a real human bean, and a real hero. The perfect ending for the trilogy. A less than literally who, fighting you mere minutes before the fire fades forever.
>kino
When something transcends cinematography, the purest and rawest form of art, something that goes beyond what mere mortals can create, the epitome of artistic creativity. Other exemples of kino are Orphan of kosm, Maria, Friede, and "u wer at muh side all along, muh mentor, muh memelight shitsword".

I'm on the opposite end.

I'll give you that Gael's theme is amazing, and there's some cool shit like Nameless King (Sakuraba as FUARK and Twin Princes. But the rest of Dark Souls 3 OST is boring as fuck.

Cleric Beast, The Hunter, The First Hunter, Ludwig, Laurence, Micolash and Living Failures are all great, memorable themes. Maria's starts great then its melody is consumed by a Dark Souls 3-style choir that's just noise.

Sorry for the blog post.

btw gael and midir are easier than NK lel

>Maria's starts great then its melody is consumed by a Dark Souls 3-style choir that's just noise
This so fucking much.
I see people going on about how fantastic her second phase music is all the fucking time, yet all I hear is a bunch of over-the-top bullshit that doesn't go anywhere.

>But the rest of Dark Souls 3 OST is boring as fuck
youtube.com/watch?v=Xy2OCRmxVAY&t=5s

Gascoigne's theme is also pretty nice.

Too bad it goes to shit the moment it reaches the second phase, like a lot of the themes in DaS3.

As far the boring chanting syndrome of DS3 goes, that's one of the better ones. Still a mess, though.

You are kinda right. And a lot comes from the fact that BB's soundtrack are orchestra, not sure about the word, you know what I mean, a lot of people playing, while souls soundtracks are just one or two composers composing.
>Once he enters the second phase it gets too frantic and chaotic
You are also correct. And I like how it mixes well with the lightning storms, his airflips, his boomerangs, and how you just know that you are at literally second before the very very end of the world. Once the fight is over, there is no sun, it's over, the fire faded. And that excess of many sounds, many voices, many rythms, it feels like the peak of the series, the very end, the climax.

And you're also right when you say that it depends on people, and that may be just me, but as I said, i finished BB over 20 times, it's my favorite, I literally bought a PSquadruple just so I can fight Maria again after beating the game 15 times (the PS4 died 5 days later), and yet I can't remember a single theme, even tho I know they are phenomenal. I just member that Maria's theme starts with a clock sound (well duh, "CLOCKTOWER").

But take Vordt's theme. It's not THE best, but you can't not remember it, listen to that second phase, 1:40 or something youtube.com/watch?v=UIX_-AMuAhY

It's not only the epicness or the quality of the sound, it's how memorable it is. Gehrman and Orphan are my favorite boss fights after Gael, I beat them over 20 times, two times more than I beat Gael, and I can't, for the life of me, remember their themes unless I hear the first few notes. While something like Majula's theme, that is absolutely nothing special, with way less work and care but into it than anything in BB, got stuck in my head the second I heard it. But it's nice to see a reasonable user that doesn't sperg out and goes "hur dur everything but BB is garbage hur", and so I wish you a good day, a good week, and a good souls playthrough.

Difficulty is and always has been irrelevant in those games. If you play soulsborne games for the "look how hardcore I am", you are everything wrong with this community. Go play a bullet hell if you just want raw challenge.

Also, difficulty varies for everyone, we all have different playstyles, and something that is easy for someone, can be hard for another, and the opposite. I beat Smostein on my second try while underleveled, naked with a +2 zweihander, while I died over 15 times to moonlight butterfly (don't ask me how, i have no idea).

Everything you said, but the opposite, for me.

I can't remember a single track in DS3 besides Nameless King, Gael and Abyss Walkers.

But I remember about 75% of BB's tracks.

my bad i forgot we're supposed to play souls for the lore

Kino, thy name is Bloodborne

user my first time fighting him was NG+5 as well, I know the struggle
My strategy that worked: equip an Irithyll Straight Sword and a torch both on your right hand. 4-5 hits with the sword and you’ll land Frostbite on him and you’ll hear the ice shattering sound effect, as soon as you do, switch to your torch and hit him to cancel frostbite. Rinse and repeat. The thing that takes a while to get used to is the extra second your character takes to swap weapons, keep that in mind when reading his attacks. Another good strategy (should you have a friend helping you) is to have someone with a Goatman blade or whatever they were from the swamp, which will eventually poison Gael. Then you can keep your distance and apply poison again after a while. Keep trying, it took me months to finally finish the DLC

You play souls for the lore, the gameplay, the bosses, the dialogues, the weapons, the NPC, the attention to details, the level design, the secrets, the dark/high fantasy setting, and the sense of adventure that few games give you this days.

This. There isn't "one" sole reason to play these games. It's a combination of many.

That buildup that starts from 1:50 on the Living Failures ost makes my dick so fucking hard, too bad I trash the actual boss so fast in the game so I never get to that point.

>not sure about the word
Actually you’ve got it backwards - the Souls games use a program to sync Latin syllables together to create gibberish - the tracks in Bloodborne USE this same synthesizer BUT there are tracks with actual lyrics to them in Latin, that usually tell the story of the individual you’re fighting (Laurence)
Basically every time you hear “sanguine” (blood in Latin) you’re guaranteed to have real lyrics. I also think you guys need to go back and download the B.B. OST and give it a thorough listen. Laurence’s 2nd form is probably the best piece I’ve heard in any From game. You just don’t hear any of it during the fight.

Could've sworn I heard "sanguine" somewhere in Alonne's theme.
Wasn't there a lot of speculation about Alonne's theme having lyrics?

what his face looks like?

i mostly play it for the combat and weapon variety

...

Ok I laughed, good one.
Like the face of a guy who was around since the literal beginning of time and never stopped fighting.

"The red hood is come to eat us. To eat our Dark Soul"
"Hand it over, that thing, your Dark Soul. FOR MY LADY'S PAINTING"
Kino dialogue desu senpai.

Someone made a set of translations based off four different languages. But it’s still gibberish Latin in my opinion. The Latin in Laurence’s fight is from the perspective of Laurence learning to fear the old blood and to stay away.

>The Latin in Laurence’s fight is from the perspective of Laurence learning to fear the old blood and to stay away.
so why is he turn into a beast?

Doesn’t mean it was Laurence himself singing - I can imagine the healing church writing that shit after they realized how much they fucked up and everyone had gone nuts

The lyrics are all over the place, with different translations, but here’s a good example from Laurence’s:

“You were tricked
Be afraid
You were tricked (by)
Blood
Be afraid to be poisoned

The feast is guaranteed (on)
the Holy Blood
So let this languish wine (be)
Oh, poisonous juice.”

After all this time, finally, we are the Dark Souls.

...

Ain't that the story with these games. When people do learn their lesson, it's too little, too late.

Definitely one of my favorite boss fights ever.

Very happy the music 10/10 good as well.

i thought dying made me miss out on the ending cutscene

Let's be honest, Nashandra and Aldia were the true kino and best final bosses in the Souls series.

kek

git gud

Are you the same faggot who wrote in /dsg/?

>beats throne watcher and defender
>Nashandra fucking appears
>beats her somehow
>Aldia fucking appears because fuck you
It was trainwreck desu

>MUH BLOODBORNE

Sonyfag spotted.

Don't mind me, just posting some random comic done by a porn artist which is way more satisfying than the DLC ending we got.

Gael's "theme" has horrendous transitions between the phases. It just sounds like three themes jammed together. This is a problem with a lot of DaS3 songs

Salty PC cuck detected. It's been 3 years man just let it go

thoughts on the unused DS3 soundtrack

youtube.com/watch?v=jXvqEmsQg18

Oh shit user, i never thought about Gael knowing the Dark Soul of Man would consume him, so he lead you through TRC, knowing you would be the only one capable of beating him and returning the DSoM to painter loli. He also knew you are the one by testing your abillities in the painted world, and you've succeeded in overthrowing Friede chan.
Although this is a sort of an Artorias all along, this is still genius. gg Miyazaki, gg.

What exactly is "Dark Souls"? How does gael have the 'dark soul'?

There was some user who translated the Soothing Hymn in BB and its pretty nuts. Basically its a gigantic hymn about them fearing the old blood and giving thanks to Laurence, who they believe suffered for them.

I think Laurence's theme (and the Cleric beast theme in general) is a play on Amelia's prayer that we hear. These are people who need to fear the blood or it will consume them and turn them into beasts.

Man, BB's setting is so cool.

I prefer Gael's fight to Orphan too but I think the situation with Orphan wasn't designed to be "epic". Yeah it's an angry infant great one but at the end of the day you're just putting down a creature on the beach. It never had the gravity of fighting Gael desu

>kino
>the last fight for possibly the entire series
>answers absolutely no questions
>not a relevant character from any of the past games history
>no conclusions what so ever
>a literal who
>and worst of all, YET ANOTHER guts cosplayer
>in a series crammed with guts impersonators and references
wtf were they thinking?

I like it, would have been a fitting 3rd form theme.

>there are people who expected hard concrete answers about the Souls series
I don't know what you people wanted, honestly.

He's literally been alive for almost the entirety of the Dark Souls lore and is a vessel for all of humanity at the point of time you fight him. You literally fight the Dark Soul and all those that ever had a piece of it.

>DUDE PREPARE TO DIE LMAO

Dark Souls shouldn't have been a series

>opening of Dark Souls 3 shows Gael's arena with the pilgrims wandering around
What the fuck did From mean by this

>berserk invented people with 2h

Yeah you're a retard, thanks for dodging my question.

What did you want answered in the DaS3 DLC? What questions did you need resolved?

In "Berserk References: The Franchise", there's no way in hell you can play the whole history card.

It means that Gael was planned to be in the game but later decided to be sold as DLC. Namco Bandai needed to sell some season passes with content worth paying for.

They also needed to market the END OF SOULS bullshit.

>ywn experience his second phase for the first time again
Feels bad

What?

Dumb boss OP pls kermit sudoku

I want the remaster to come out so I can play all 3 in a row on the same system.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of 2, it would give me the motivation to finish it.

I honestly love playing trilogy's like this

Make a new character

That would be nice.

What are the chances that they would remaster Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 for PS4?

is the dark souls 3 dlc worth playing through?

twin princes and soul of cinder gave me literal hell

The dlc answers literally every important plot point. We now know how all three games are connected.

I liked both DLC. The first one is criminally short, but TRC makes up for it. I really like the feel of them, and there's hardly any swamps.

>when Nashandra enters the mist gate to kill you
KINO

>there's hardly any swamps

ringed city is 50% swamp

Yeah, that's hardly any for a souls game. (also I was being sarcastic)

It's more like 1/4 of the entire DLC when you include the Earthen Peak ruins.

The real slave Knight was you!

Gael is trully Miyazaki's magnum opus.
>tfw his cape is all torn because he used parts of it to guide us through the dlc.
>tfw he can get hit by the lightning strikes
>tfw he can LITERALLY teleport behind you BY AUTO SUMMONING HIMSELF WITH SOAPSTONES

A literal masterpiece

Remember when people expected the Lothric Angels and Londor DLC for DS3?

Are you satisfied with what we got?

Why does the Kiln of First Flame look different in DS1 to DS3. Redesign just to redesign?

>hand it over......that thing,,,,,,,,your Dark Soul™
what did he mean by this

...

Dark Souls with Artorias DLC and Dark Souls 3 with Fire Fades DLC is the only way to play these games

It looks to me like the constant fading and kindling of the flame has turned much of the world to ash, and what remains get's drawn further and further towards the flame. The contsiner for the Kiln was burnt up long ago, now it's a separate dimension.

I want to _____ the painter
