is it worth trying?
Whats the Sup Forumserdict?
I guess? It's not awful it just shouldn't have been made.
If you plan to play all the class stories sure. If you want an mmo no.
so are you implying the multiplayer interactions are bad?
No.
just play the f2p version for the class stories, drop it afterward
it's one of the best star wars games ever made. as an mmo it's garbage.
yes he is, the only thing worth a shit in this game is the imperial stories and that shit with the new empire or whatever the fuck that finished last year
Yes and no. The strenght of the game is obv the class stories. I have played the endgame part with raiding and such which clearly lacked content and polish. So if you are looking for a singleplayer starwars game (that happens to be online) its alright. If you want an mmo with challange and a good endgame look elsewhere.
What's the best class story?
I've been playing the Smuggler and I want a break.
I've heard the Agent is p. good.
Agent is GOAT
Doesn't matter what path you take, it's all great
The class stories are good. Make a character, get immersed and you will definately enjoy it. All the other stuff is mediocre at best.
agent>sith warrior>jedi sage>bounty hunter>smuggler>sith inquisitor>trooper>jedi knight
The republic has the big name voice actors, but they are terrible while the empire has actual theatre actors and they make a great job.

Play Dark Side Agent
Play Light Side Warrior
Uninstall
Depends on what you want. If you want to play a 3 part mix of wow, star wars, and a bioware dialogue system then yeah.
Some of the stories are solid, some aren't as good, but that all comes down to preference. I like that each class can go at least 2 different ways from a story perspective. Being a lawful sith warrior who is righteous, or a murdering psychopath. Each of the stories contain a bit of what you would expect/want. The smuggler gets their ship stolen, the sith warrior corrupts a jedi (or not), and the jedi knight confronts the head of the sith empire after dealing with a mind control arc.
The first two expansions hutt cartel and revan were mediocre, but the game was sticking with its mmo goals. Then they added the fallen empire/eternal throne, which is fun, but only worth playing on one, maybe two characters as the story sacrifices class diversity for (imo) quality. It can be played if you drop $15 on a subscription once, but the class stories are solid too.
Gameplay-wise its alright, it doesn't feel unpolished, but it isn't as solid as wow. Dying feels laggy, and some enemies are so easy to kill that classes can just walk around spamming the equivalent of blizzard from wow to kill most groups. Of course there is nothing forcing you to spec into that however. Looking at the UI when compared to wow, the GCD indicator looks awful, especially on every ability, its very difficult to die while questing due to the fact that you can have a healer companion with you almost all the time.
Endgame, honestly you might as well subscribe if you want to play it. But there isn't much to be said for it, it's relatively standard, you can co-op the whole game but the last 2 expansions, the knights ones, only one person gets any credit whatsoever. The same applies to individual class missions, but planet story missions are shared, and you roll for whose decision gets used in conversations, and both exist in the same conversation, so play with a friend
Still disappointed in the missed opportunities
>no non-human playable races like Duros or Rodian
>single/dual/double-bladed lightsabers restricted to specific classes
>no droid class
>no imperial soldier to mirror republic trooper
>no republic spy to mirror imperial agent
>no unique smuggler and bounty hunter classes where you choose a side sometime in your act1
It's tragic that Bioware is desperately trying to fix this game hoping that people will start to play it now that the new star wars movies are playing only to realize that they can't fix the main problem of this game: the godawful engine.
Otherwise it might have actually been the wow killer instead of being one of the gaming industries most expensive failure.
Did it really fail? Like did they actually go in to minus?
If you only focus on the story based quests it's alright, but it fails as a MMORPG, they should have made it as a Singleplayer game rather than a MMO.
I absolutely enjoyed the bounty hunter and the sith quest arc, but I fucking hate the whole MMO stuff.
Hell no, it's made a shitton of money even before it went f2p.
Sage and BH are too high, should be down with knight
best stories right here that fucking light side sith warrior
So tl;dr grab a friend or three, go darkside, bring alcohol, and go on an interstellar asshole crusade with your mates?
