Before way into act 2 where it became painfully obvious it was always Monika, I had this theory that the game was about making (You) realize how fucked up the reality of VN's is, with everyone ready to romance your character and possibly the rejected characters committing suicide, it's like I saw the dots but it was much later in act 2 when Yuri was already acting like a weirdo until I connected them. I thought it was as game about VN characters actually forced to like you character and becoming depressed after you don't pick them, close enough.
