I have the hd collection, is it worth replaying mgs3 in hd if I played the 3ds version earlier this year? I know the 3ds version is bad but would I get bored fast playing it again or does it feel like a different game?

It had 2 hours of alright gameplay. The other 3 or so hours are shitty shooting segments, a tailing segment, boss fights (most of which aren't terrible but not that good either) and the return to Shadow Moses which was ruined by having you sneak past annoying robots rather than soldiers.

MGS 4 has one of the best stories, but by far the worst gameplay

Mgs5 was a mistake and inl y served to solidify the fact that kojima is a hack. Instead of developing a great game with coherent story, dude blew half the budget on building his own engine, then threw in a shamalamadingdong tier twist. Think about it, after 20 or 30 years, mgs officially goes out with the ending of 5.

Remember the end of MGS2 where Ocelot turned off Fortunes nanomachines and she still managed to deflect missiles? Then MGS4 was like yeah Vamp running on water and Fortune were always us. Everything supernatural besides psychomantis was us

The gunplay and action was superior. Repetitive because no other mgs can last 100 hours, sure. But if they remade mgs 1 - 4 in the fox engine it would be better.

I'm glad they added improved gunplay and exactly two bosses to go along with it.

The alert system and psychic guards are shit. In MGS2 and 3 guards needed to radio for backup, yet in 5 the guards are all mentally linked to the base alarm somehow. It's terrible for stealth because it forces you to either use reflex mode in CQC or just avoid guards all together/snipe them. In MGS2/3 I could engage single guards and fuck with them and it was gun

I can see your point, but it was one of the few metal gears I played where the controls did exactly what I expected then to do in combat. Also, you can turn reflex mode off.

Turning reflex mode off just leads to the psychic guard situation I also mentioned. I can't shoot their radio if they spot me, or take out their legs and stop them from running to help. Once they see me I'm fucked. Reflex mode is the "solution" to this problem, and its shit.

I really wanted to like MGS5. Got the collectors edition with the stupid hand and everything. I just don't find myself having the same kind of fun as I did playing MGS3. If I was to carpet bomb and play commando its great, but it doesn't give me my stealth fix.

So what MGS is superior in your opinion? If you say 4, you're full of it, since 4 had almost no gameplay.
