The Team behind the Yakuza games is bringing us a Fist of the North Star game exclusively for the PlayStation®4.
It looks like Yakuza 0 reskin which might or might not be disappointing to you, combat seems to be a bit more action heavy. A demo for the game is supposed to launch in february, the full game is supposed to follow on march. Here's a trailer.
Is it going to have 4 hours of story and cutscenes for every 30 minutes of gameplay like 0?

>smashing your enemies with onomatopia Looks pretty fucking rad.

I don't know. The game isn't out yet, but I don't think that I've spend 80 hours in cutscenes during my yakuza 0 playthrough.
Austin Adams
Was this kind of slapstick actually in Hokuto no Ken or should my suspension of disbelief be dead now?

I wish they'd bring Ishin to the west, it looks cool but I don't want to play it without understanding what is going on
Anthony Edwards
Is that a no or a yes?

How to get into Hokuto no Ken:
Anime for first time, there is a bit of filler but only at the start and half of it is actually much needed character development that manga didn't have at the beginning since it was written as a one-shot due to not expecting success. It also rotates some early events chronology to make better sense than in the manga. And most importantly while artwork obviously isn't anywhere near as good as manga, the voice acting, music and direction are absolutely top of the line 10/10 material. Watch anime, you won't regret it, here's highest quality you can get for the series: Hokuto no Ken 1: nyaa.si/?f=0&c=0_0&q=fist north star x264 ac3 Hokuto no Ken 2: nyaa.pantsu.cat/view/923302 Manga: nyaa.si/view/879993
The anime adapts all of the manga up to chapter 210 (beginning of Volume 24), after you're done with that you can either read manga from the start but mind you that the scans are mostly terrible and very rough translation, especially in the middle, or you can read the manga from Volume 24 to the end which is the portion that the anime didn't adapt.
After that you can read the (non-canon) spinoffs (also included in the manga torrent) and watch the anime adaptation of the only one of the manga spinoffs that wasn't translated, you can get it here: nyaa.si/view/904978
After that you can watch the movies, the original 1986 movie which is basically a huge advertisement for the anime, as well as the late 00s 25th anniversary movie pentalogy that serves as abridged versions of the bigger arcs of the series with new OC material thrown in, you can get them here: nyaa.si/view/884962

It had humorous stuff in some episodes, but they were usually episodes where nothing was really happening and Kenshiro was just on his way from Point A to Point B, with actual plot in points A and B being played 100% serious and straight. It also never had any 4th wall breaking like the silly thing in this game where Kenshiro can pick up the HIDEBU text boxes and attack enemies with them.
Henry Russell
At least the art looks consistent, not like fucking berserk were guts went through multiple artstyles.
Hunter Barnes
He looks drastically younger in the one shot because he's a teenager in that one, the art is actually quite solid when you consider that Ken ages over the years.
Connor Russell
Did this nigga just body five dudes with his own action-noise chickenscratch? Day one buy for me
Gavin Kelly
those guys could look a little more menacing
Juan Jackson
You clearly don't know anything about the source material. Protip, anyone that isn't Nanto Seiken or Hokuto Shinken user is fodder that dies from merely touching them.
Thomas Barnes
>More hostess club bullshit
Liam Garcia
yeah but.. they're kind of just standing there
they could look grizzly or bemoaned at least
Christian Jenkins
That's most likely on easy, like literally 99% of videogame presentations ever. In Yakuza games, enemies get more aggressive depending on difficulty, it's not just a HP thing.
Colton Morris
>No Western release dates for Kiwami 2 or Fist of the Kiryu even though recent Western success is the reason they've been able to turn around and make more so quick
Ian Barnes
>hate fist of the north star >hate yakuza games >don't own a ps4 Is this for me?
Brayden White
Atlus USA said they're deliebrately spacing the games out to not cause franchise fatigue in the west. Yakuza 6 is already fully translated and literally has been sitting like that for 2 months already on Atlus USA's hands.
Benjamin Baker
yeah, just seems like their standing stance is kind of lifeless is all. they'll probably tweak it before release.
Kayden Jenkins
Your hokuto no ken 2 link is bad.
Eli Moore
No, it just ran out of seeds because Pantsu died. It's just DVD raw isos anyway, I'll have an encode done in January and make a new torrent for it then.
Lincoln Cox
I FUCKING LOVE 3D ACTION FIGHTING GAMES BUT WHY THE FUCK ARE YOUR ENEMIES STARING AT YOUR DICK WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING REEEEEEEE
Robert Hall
I had faith in the Dragon Engine but apparently that shit is pretty much cursed. HnG running on Zero's engine pretty much is a good thing in my eyes.
With Yakuza in general, but especially this game, I wish they let you model swap the MC with another character in the post-game adventure mode or something. The devs must've seen the model swap mods people have made for the recent games.
