When did you first join steam, Sup Forums?

when did you first join steam, Sup Forums?

Only registered to play 1.6. I was like a month late because everyone said it was a buggy piece of shit and WON was still working fine.

January 2013
I wanted to play cherry tree high and couldn't bother looking for pirates so I saw it was on steam and just bought it

1 day away from 9 years.

Nov 27, 2004.

same

2006.

Then again, I'm old as shit.

whenever the hell trackmania came out. I made an account just to play that game because everyone was just playing WoW, CoD4, and Guild wars at the time. I was on that WoW and Guild Wars

rip in piece xfire

Makes me wonder why I joined steam back then. Pretty sure it was Half Life 2.

...

I only registered because they advertised the death of WON and knew I'd have to make the switch for day of defeat and natural selection

I have a steamid with four digits

Will be 13 year ago this Christmas.

I used to only buy retail. Then Risen made me into a digitalfag.

Still haven't set up a steam profile lel.

i think mine is 5 digits
steam sucked initially

at least valve still made games back then

go cry on neogaf about it

2006 but man steam was a clusterfuck back then, didn't really start using it in earnest until 2011. it still amazes me that people managed to make even worse clients than green steam.

back when it was green

6 years. Made me realise I've had Steam account for a third of my life

Damn those were good. I also played a lot of Firearms, Specialists and Vampire Slayer.

11/11/2011

I never got into firearms or vamp slayer too much but I played a lot of science & industry too. The only HL2 mod I really played a lot of was dystopia which was really fun but too bad it died

Made an account the day after steam officially went online

December 2012
I wasn't big into PC gaming until then. Sure I had some games here and there, but they were all physical copies.

pics or it didn't happen

July 17th, 2010

April 2009

First game I bought was a pack with TF2 and Garry's Mod.

Back when TF2 Kart first started

is that Geese fucking Thompson

the day half-life 2 came out

I don't know if you're asking for my account creation date, or if I owned physical PC games, so I'll just do both at once. Only physical game nearby me at the moment is my copy of Battlefront 2. I'd dig out some of my other ones, but I'm not particularly in the mood to go get them just for no reason other then to prove something on Sup Forums.

On the record it's fucking tragic Science and Industry, and Dystopia, will never get a second coming or be reincarnated in somebody else's game.
Dystopia and Ricochet would be SICK in VR.

December 25th 2004 when I got HL2 for Christmas.

Never.
I play exclusively on PC and have never used Steam. Between all the games you can pirate, will be able to pirate, can emulate, and the few that get a proper release that are worth paying for such as the Witcher games, there is absolutely no justification to giving money to Valve.

I bought half life 2 on disc at Target sometime in 2005 or 2006 I think, that was my first game on steam.

in 2014

exclusively to lewd talk.

I tried to pirate War in the East recently and couldn't find it. It's also a pain in the ass to pirate DLC sometimes and sometimes the pirated versions aren't up to date.

Sup

Shame, if there were a big enough backlash for Half Life 2 requiring Steam we'd be getting more proper releases on PC and Steam probably wouldn't exist.

You'd just have two dozen more types of DRM like Tages or even Denuvo like we have now.

May 28, 2008. I wanted to play TF2, and my options were either to get it on consoles, or get it on PC. I had the foresight to get the PC version, since I was thinking "if I get a newer computer, I can play the games better in the future". Man, how the time flies.

When it first released on mac. what a fucking shitshow
