Upcoming tactical FPS games?

Was wondering what are some good FPS games coming up soon. The ones I know of are Ground Branch and Ready Or Not. Both Im very excited for.

You've basically got it covered. The perks of liking a dead genre.

Insurgency Sandstorm?

>Ground Branch and Ready Or Not
DUE PROCESS

Not really that big a multiplayer person but Due Process looks good. Ready Or Not being good would be ideal though since it's single player.

Does Tarkov count?

Okay. Understood. On the related note, not an FPS but still suppose to be going the tactical route is Door Kickers 2

Holy shit, I completely forgot about this

>Ground Branch
Do people actually play it online? Never can find anyone.

I'm not OP, just putting in my two cents.

Escalation 1985
Post Scriptum

Thats a damn shame, The closest thing to a modern day tactical FPS is Siege but thats PvP focused.

Looks like I'm stuck with the mod Rainbow Six: Black Ops. You have no idea how pissed off I am about Takedown being a total fucking let down.

Escape From Tarkov if you want a hazardous combat environment sim with slavshit

casuals and babbies need not apply

Ready or Not is vaporware dude. The last Dev update was what, a year ago?

Escape from Tarkov looks good, but is it soley PvP? I'm kind of over the whole, find a weapon and hunt other players in an open world kind of game.

The last Dev blog was July 2017. So it has been awhile but I think the Devs are pretty active on Leddit

SWAT 4 can still be played online but it rather small in scale.

its like a mix of pve/pvp but mostly pvp oriented unfortunately

Swat 4 is still one of my favorite games of all time. Just wish you could shoot suspects with guns running away without being penalized so harshly.

You should play SWAT 3. I haven't played the campaign because the video cutscenes cause the game to crash but I don't think it penalizes killing suspects as much as 4 does. You can just play the missions individually though outside of the campaign.

Oh definitely, I love swat 3 as well. Its much harder than 4 in my opinion.

they really fucked up not making it PvE focused because the PvP is total ass.

>Escape from Tarkov looks good, but is it soley PvP?

It's PVPVE. There's enemy players and AI in every map.

Theres an offline mode.

which rewards nothing
nice try but that shit is garbage and its staying in the trash can.

>FPS
>dead genre
wut

tactical fps you idiot

Looking forward to it. Insurgency is such an underrated game.

For all the people who still play SWAT4

...

Due Process. Indie game. Very similar to Rainbow Six Siege, but without the hero stuff and all that AAA bullcrap. I played it at PAX like a year ago, was very fun.

Game's been in development for a while though and I don't think they've said when it's coming out yet. I think it's in beta right now but I don't know if it's closed or open.

>Ready Or Not being good would be ideal though since it's single player.
RoN is multiplayer. It has co-op against AI but it's focus in Multiplayer matches.

Ground branch isnt ever coming out

Looking good.

Hell Let Loose

I would say yes and no at the same time, right now in the fucking prewipe madness it's pretty much tacticool call of duty.

Reminder that Squads v10 update changes everything

Why are you shooting green paintballs?

tracer rounds burning up on impact

Shit really? Thats a fucking disappointment then, I thought it was supposed to be a successor to games like SWAT.

Why do you have to lie?

If anyone is interested, this weekend, we're going to play Joint Ops and blast some Indos. If anyone wants the steam group, I can post it.

>no magazine in gun
>slide holds open anyway

If they are going to show autism level of authenticity and details at least get it done right.

It doesn't change the awful performances and shitty visuals past ten meters.

>/k/ collectively triggered by one v poster

Yeah, so sad it failed its kickstarter while Takedown Red Sabre got a quarter million on kickstarter just to deliver a pile of shit. Ground Branch actually had potential.

Will be about as successful as Days of War, guaranteed.

Escalation has the allure of vaporware. Post Scriptum will get a release for sure, but it risks being even more niche than Squad or RS2...

You pick your loadout from your stash before starting a game. You don't find many weapons just lying around in the world, you scavenge items from the world to sell to buy kit inbetween games. There is also AI in every game you can normally get easier kills on to get basic equipment and weapons. If you die in a game you lose all your kit.

Bitch cop

I fucking miss Raven Shield.

Best shit, PTGN server.

Is there any game with iron sights where you aim with your both eyes open?

>It doesn't change the awful performances
No, but upgrading your potato computer does.

Merry Christmas

I have a GTX1070 you deepshit. Still looks and run like dog shit.

Do you need some special knowledge and affection towards events, gear, and tactics to like the genre? Military plots enter one ear and come out of another for me. What would be a solid singleplayer one to dip my toes in?
I've played a lot of SWAT 4 in coop, a bit of GRAW and RS3: Raven Shield.

Try out Rainbow Six Vegas (theres also a sequel), I have fond memories of playing co-op terrorist hunt with friends. The singleplayer campaign is solid too and can also be played in co-op.

Tried it a bit as well. Doesn't read like the same category to me, so I didn't mention it.

every video games have you play all the time with one eye open hence the ridiculous fov

SWAT 4 has a highly idealized version of just use of lethal force allowed by SWAT team.

If it was realistic there would be a level in a kennel where you are expected to shoot every dog in a cage one by one.

Yeah the tactical aspect is really watered down compared to RS3, but nevertheless it's a pretty fun.

I kind of jumped into Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield when I first got into the genre. It depends on the game but for the most part, even in milsims, they use fictionalized scenarios and choice of guns for the most part is cosmetic because 1-2 torso shots is always a kill. A game like Rainbow Six should explain what all the gadgets do in the load out screen anyways. Tactics is a plus but it's something you can mostly learn through trial and error anyways

>literally came here to post raven shield
this got me into the whole non-arcadey SHOOTAN, and into my interest in guns in the first place. it feels weird to think my 14 year old self was playing games more tactical/realistic then there is games today

Will give it another go, the first time I went looking for more SWAT 4.
Aim assist on or off? That was a weird thing to consider.

if you even have to ask, you FUCKIN CASUAL FUCK

and yeah its more shooty rooty tooty, its pretty dated, and swat isnt because it does things modern games dont even consider, while rooty tooty shooty is very overdone. the part i really liked was tango hunt, where it was 4 player co-op clearing levels of 40-60 enemies with no health packs or revives or whatnot. my first experience where people actually held back, cleared rooms and worked together. shit was fun then, dunno how much now, depending on how much your into old games and tac tics

"My cars not slow, I've got Michelin tires!"

What are your other bottleneck possibilties, user? CPU and RAM are bigger culprits these days desu

SWAT 4 is a lot of fun in co-op, either because you're all trying to do it very tactically or its a fucking riot and no one knows what the fuck is going on and it's hillarious.

oh man, i gotta try that with my f-friends

>Suggest SWAT4 at the yearly LAN
> Only me and another have any experience with tactical shooters
>we begin on separate sides and plan to pincer the map
>clear the middle room normally, no civvie or hostile casualties
>get ready to zip up a hostile
>door fucking blows open, killing the hostile I was about to zip up, buddy runs in and shoots my team partner
>"Whoops"

Play competitively. The coop maps become boring after a while. Playing against other people allows you to shoot everyone whom you want.

The VIP gamemode is great. Shame that not many people play it. If I had a better internet connection I'd host a weekly event and advertise it on here and on the internet.

thats the thing. most people are all ready for in and out, they dont do this whole "maybe everything isnt about murder and shooting". if we played, that would be me right now because its been so long since being slow and low ment anything

>rainbow six siege
>tactical fps
Stop posting in these threads.

mad because bad

To be fair at least they're taking the accurate mentality of the majority of SWAT officers in the country.

That's not a tactical FPS.

No, why would you? Play it for the quick reactions and precise actions.

>i heard about 3 or 4 badly done ops so i know about them all
yeah fuck you

Bad company 3 is in the works, don't know how tactical it's going to be though.

>because i said so
boy cant wait till the argument turns to semantics

It's not even a FPS, idiot.

>Dog Shooters Anonymous

...

If a Wikipedia article edited by the publisher says so, it must be true.

>people thinking Vegas is a tactical shooter
It's about as tactical as Call of Duty lads, c'mon now.

Yeah we should be able to freely assault officers!

yeah

so we agree, what was your argument? that literally any moment that deviates from fps means its no-

>New Ballistics System. Bullets are subject to drag (momentum/damage falloff over distance)
With the engagement ranges in SWAT4 that's nothing but a gimmick you can't even notice.

It was babby's first "Rainbow Six" game, so they wouldn't know otherwise.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to let someone with an AK and full body armor run towards my direction.

Pig needs a bullet to the back of the head.

>It was babby's first "Rainbow Six" game, so they wouldn't know otherwise.
That would be Lockdown.
>discover the series with that game
>llay it and it's pretty alright
>years later discover Raven Shield
>realize Lockdown was casualized to hell

lmao

tactical FPS
>dude its supposed to be slow paced, well communicated team work, shooting bad guys the video game, really difficult to play and for hardcore people
meanwhile in reality
>dude just run and gun, its literally the most effective thing to do, that or spam grenades, with half these faggots crouching or lying down they wont be able to dodge your fire or run away
>may not work on open maps*
gotta admit the whole "reload progress" thing is cool, this should be a standard feature by now or even for all futre FPS, sad that some mechanics that would be neat to have in FPS games are restricted to mil sims

MY DICK IS ON THE BACK OF MY WAISTBAND, OR ASS, WHERE I REACHED
