Vice City is still, by far, the best game in the GTA series.

Ayy, I'm playing that shit right now.
VC is GOAT
Who names their child moonbeam?
Is it okay if i rest my hand on your lap?
nice meme
i dont get that
lmao
name a better one?
you are most likely telling the truth
fuck the lovefist missions tho
I am the sole judge of truth of decency!
just tap the gas button and drive down the long strip of road that the bridges connect to.
OWNER OF A LONELY HEART
Sorry San Andreas takes the cake, Vice City is a close 2nd tho
>GTA4 is unplayable without a controller
>Vice City doesn't have controller support
GInput
Why are you telling lies on the Internet?
WAVE 103
WHERE THE BOYS WEAR MORE MAKEUP
THAN THE GIRLS
Which one are you talking about? The subjective opinion that GTAIV is shit without a controller, or the objective fact that VC doesn't have native controller support?
I've never seen a thread live that long with only ~20 posts.
man I wish this game was better. the weapons all suck, but enemies can tear you apart
>My edgy meme 80s Scarface simulator
Don't bother
Best girl.
she's a literal whore though
wife from Waste the Wife is cool
>she's a literal whore
to be honest all vice city women are
GTA3 was better.
The grimy city fully captured the 2000's mood, and the faster paced and arcadey gameplay is just better.
Also the city isn't as flat as my 8 year old sister. Vice City's fucking pancake islands are boring as fuck.
>GTA3 was better.
It has better story for sure but anything else is nostalgia speak.
the one with dealer on a bike was much worse
this year when i replayed it I failed it like 10 times in row
>no map
no thanks
>gangs get permanently pissed off
fuck that
3's Liberty City was infinitely better than boring, miniature Vice City.
HMMM, NICE BIKE
fuck 2000s
also vc had improved shooting and driving on top of including bikes and a map
Vice city has the best theme and music for sure. Story was also really fun. Most missions were OK.
San Andreas took their old engine to its limits though. It has way more features than Vice City.
It's hard to pick the best.
NOOOOOO, MY BIKE!
SO MUCH BETTER THAN AN
>doesn't have native controller support
Just because you plugged a controller in and it immediately didn't map everything doesn't mean it doesn't have native support? You can plug a controller in and map things if you aren't a retard.

City design sucked ass desu
t. brainlet
hows the framerate on ps2? curious due to the comfy factor
>design
Buzzword non-complaint, without elaborating on which parts of the city design were bad and why you may as well say it just didn't FEEL right.
he means its small because the game came out before his time and he never played it when it came out
why was little havana so comfy bros
It's way too narrow. Liberty City in III feels much bigger, despite being about the same size.
>because the game came out before his time and he never played it when it came out
Wouldn't have complained if that was the case, retard
>retard
Nice discussion sweetie
>sucked ass
I don't know, man, it's pretty accurate to the Miami Beach/Downtown area, though Little Haiti and Little Havana are north of downtown.
But yeah, the design sucking ass is true to the area, as any native Miamian can tell you our city planning is fucking garbage
big enough that you it's fun to cruise around, not so big that it's overwhelming and irritating to travel.
love this game so much. still need to play vice city stories
Vice City was literally a demo compared to SA. It's sad cause it had alot of potential.
>not so big that it's overwhelming and irritating to travel.
that was my problem with SA. the buffer zones between cities were too annoying to navigate and straight up boring
'no'
It's one of the best. GTAIII era LC is absolute shit
And don't even get me started on how V's Los Santos is nothing short of an insult with how fucking horrible it is
I never got the hate for V. it's big, i like it
It's not even that big. You explore everything the city has to offer in a few hours max, the rest is boring hills and water.
Even if it wasn't bigger, LC in IV was definitely more dense and felt way bigger than Los Santos to me.
liberty city is a grid where it's 90% the same looking, I love blaine county
>GTAIII era LC is absolute shit
lmoa, literally kys you'reself.
>90% the same looking
Just because you can't visually distinguish between the boroughs in Liberty City, don't pretend the rest of us are this retarded.
>it's big
It's peanuts compared to San Andreas which came out 9 years before V, maybe the map is bigger but only because it's 75% mountain and desert
The ghetto area in V is pathetically fucking small and just down the street from downtown (not even any turns or anything, just go under a highway overpass and there). There's no identity at all for a lot of it. The entire eastern part just has Lester's house and fucking nothing else despite supposedly being the Mexican part of the city, especially compared to East Los Santos in SA.
Look at the Koreatown here - small as shit and a good chunk of it is literally nothing and parking lots. You wouldn't even notice it's supposed to be Korean - plus there's zero missions or anything expanding on this concept. Fucking Saints Row 1 had a better chinatown, at least that had unique street lights, lots of asian peds, market stalls and shit.
>that pucci
I've played through the single-player 3 times and probably got hundreds of hours online. (Probably a fair amount of loading sessions in that though)
Didn't know that was meant to be a koreatown until your post.
i had no idea that v had a koreatown
Vice City control mappings on PC only accept digital inputs. The analog sticks on for example a X360 controller do nothing. Actually the triggers too because they are also analog.
Playing on my PS2, shit looks good.
My biggest complaint with the map is the fact that Little Haiti and Downtown are separated by one road. The building between them is huge but serves no purpose whatsoever.
>what is Ginput
I have it on PS3 but since installing CFW I'm gonna download the PS2 ISO and play it that way, because Vice City without Billie Jean in the soundtrack isn't Vice City.
Just add it to the mp3 folder
...
Something that doesn't ship with the game. Which was the entire point of this exchange.
Yeah it's pretty small but Los Santos alone has more shit to do in it than the entirety of GTAV's map
nah, it's got a courier mission, r3 missions, and some lame horse race betting. v has movies, r3 missions, hunting (pretty cool), darts, triathalons, scuba, tennis, collectables that aren't "spray 100 gang signs for useless weapons"
Holy shit I just checked
>San Andreas has 9 vehicle missions while V has fucking 2
wew that's depressing
Replaced with heists, which in my opinion are better.
>GTAV collectibles
wow money and a shitty car with lights on it, some amazing rewards right there
>a couple super scripted missions where you maybe get to use those vehicles sometimes replaces being able to hop into a vehicle and be a paramedic, firefighter, cop, pimp, burglar, conductor, courier, and trucker
>being able to hop into a vehicle and be a paramedic, firefighter, cop, pimp, burglar, conductor, courier, and trucker
Because that makes perfect sense. I prefer mission based gameplay they went with in hd games. Quality over quantity.
>let's make a bunch of the map water
>and let's put in a bunch of boat missions
>falling in water kills you
And then when they added swimming to San Andreas they decided boat missions weren't cool so you never had to go near the water outside that one Woozie mission
Git gud.
Trying to make sense is what killed GTA, I miss being able to dual wield double barrel shotguns and get buff by eating 10 buckets of chicken before working out.
>I prefer mission based gameplay they went with in hd games. Quality over quantity.
Yeah fuck exploring and starting missions from discovery like an open world game, I want to just blow through strangers and freaks missions marked all over my map.
>saying anything is better than VC just to be different.
I really love the atmosphere and radio stations as well as how they had actual missions for properties but other than that I think San Andreas is the pinnacle of GTA.
as someone who loves to play VC and SA, I gotta tell you to replay VC again. Trust me, it's nowhere near as good as SA. I understand people being nostalgic but after having played it again last year, there is no way to not admit that SA is superior by far
NICE ASS, BABY
I can see why people would like VC for the setting as well as being more arcady and I can definitely see some places where VC's simplicity works out in it's favor but overall yeah San Andreas just has more shit to do.
The one thing I really like about VC is how you actually have to do missions for assets and they're not just simply money generators.
>I'LL CRY WHEN I'M DONE KILLING
San Andreas > Vice Shitty
KNIFE AFTER DARK
RATED R FOR RETARDED
When I first played Vice City I still lived in the Berenstein universe and YES was actually just another run of the mill nobody 80's pop group with one recognizable shitty song. I could have never imagined that in a parallel reality it would be an interesting prog group with long and complex songs.
