It's a meme, yeah, but this game still needed a few more years in the oven. On launch it was an absolute mess, but apparently it's not that bad now. All four characters are playable now, the plotholes have been fixed, Ch. 13 was made better, there's co-op, you can drive offroad, there's a bestiary, and a million other tiny improvements. And apparently they're going to be adding even more shit to it next year.

FFXV would've been on the same level as FFIX and FFXII if it had come out in 2019 with everything polished. Not the BEST Final Fantasy, but still pretty good. Instead they opted to release it too early and now it's cemented into everyone's mind that it's a subpar game, even if they do end up fixing it down the line.

Lighting, Caius, and Snow were good characters. Had good music and graphics. Gameplay mechanics sucked and story sucked.

Squeenix has completely lost track of who they are as a company, and what they do.

XV sold more in it's 1st year than any other FF did in their 1st year.

Because it had a simultaneous release date. No other FF game has.

It's still an unfinished, unpolished mess.
