Games you know are good but are scared to try because of their complex mechanics
Most 4X Strategy games. I'm too much of a brainlet to deal with those games.
PUBG
...
Played and completed both of these, highly overrated by Sup Forums. Mediocre games loved because they hide essential mechanics from the player. Can still complete both, just won't be able to 100% them without extensive guides. Don't bother wasting your time.
this one for me is more of my concern how long it takes me to feel interested in the game when I am going into it with no preordained understanding. Like jrpgs but they usually take me 10 hours or so to see if I am going to like it, which don't feel like trying with this.
I hear that it took months to gitgud at this game. I guess I'll just settle with inferior jsrpg for the time being, I got plenty to play anyway
Grand strategy stuff. Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron---that sorta thing. I'm sure it's great, but it seems really imposing and I know it'll take me a while to get a handle on it.
silent hunter 3, kerbal space program, all tactical rpgs. i'm 32 and my brain is already shrinking
I'm sure VP has a complex system beneath it all but in reality you can button mash just about anything to death so why bother.
I'm scared to try it because I heard Indivisible was inspired by its combat, and I hated the combat in Indivisible.
I've only scratched the surface of Cataclysm DDA, but it's one of the best roguelikes I've played.
VP isn’t complex, it just hides a lot of stuff from you that you need to learn through repeat plays and experimentation, especially since there’s a random element to the game with regards to which areas you can visit in a given cycle. The core game itself is very straightforward though.
Now Vagrant Story on the other hand... nothing can prepare you for it. Even if you go through a guide before playing, you’ll still be scratching your head unless you fully activate your autism. Somehow I actually beat it a long time ago, but if you asked me about it today I’d not even remember how because it’s too complex.
Holy shit this, what the hell is wrong with VS
>does 1 damage to peoples despite my high attack
>that combo system
Jesus
What? It's a very good game to have casual fun with. Disciples 2 as well. Just play the games.
The only thing complex about it is getting ending A. Also hard mode is easy mode.
The hard mode exclusive dungeons though..
Vagrant Story isn't quite as complicated as it looks. You can safely ignore element and creature type affinities. The only thing that really matters at all is the damage type of slash, pierce, and blunt. Weapon crafting needs a guide to know what you're doing but beyond that just keeping three weapons for those damage types and switching depending on each enemy is all you need to do to coast right through the game.
Shit, I just bought it a few days ago. Wish me luck.
this game is actually really easy if you know what you're doing. You have plenty of time in all chapters and the combat is basically either exploiting weaknesses or learn how to time your attacks depending on who you use
>Think the game is complex
>Try it out. It's very basic
>"Hmmmm, maybe it becomes more complex later"
>Game gets even more linear at the end
Nah, the game is literally for babies. It "looks" complicated, but has no depth.
the only thing I disliked in this game back when I was a kid were the cutscene models. Also "RNG" stat gains. One of the best PS1 game I played though, shame old me had a tendency of never finishing my runs
