I have a feeling this game is going to be Rockstar's best. Most Rockstar projects take an well over 5 years and have troubled development. That's why Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire are far from perfect. But RDR2 has been developed very smoothly indicating that Rockstar's vision was easy to realize this time around. Having some experience in lower dev cycles from GTA V, they set forth to create their best work yet. Prove me wrong.

i can't prove you stupid fucking feelings wrong, user. you ARE a faggot, thought. prove me wrong.
>microtransactions and loot boxes
Will never support developers that do this. If From SoftWare introduces lootboxes/microtransactions in Bloodborne 2 or any future Souls/Borne titles, then I will refuse to support them as well. Rockstar 100% lost all my support. I will never touch another game made by Rockstar.
This. GTA online is such a shit show. All the fucking no life losers who have spent real money to acquire the best items/cars/guns in the game. It's not even fun
Microtransactions are a thing now.
I don't think so, none of their current games have shown any improvements in game design.
the online is going to be dogshit and it's gonna be a big focus of the game.
why can't they just do something like sa-mp? where people can create gamemodes. i don't mind grinding, but gta online is just fucking boring
>people don't like playing the game they paid for, so they can pay extra and no have to play the game to get these items.
t. pc(fat)
stay mad sperg lmao
>"Some people don't want to explore the game world, some people don't want to play the game, so we want to give them the option to buy the items that would other wise require exploring and questing
They can't just admit they're horrible greedy vile cunts that want to nickel and dime there consumers can they? They have to play a bullshit card like this. If you buy a game like GTA/RDR without having the intent of exploring a massive detailed open world, then why the fuck are you even buying the game to begin with?
GTA V had cancelled single player content to focus on multiplayer. There, you're wrong.
Looks like Marston
this reads like a fucking onion article. no way this is real.
>We here at TheHeroes7 are huge fans of paid DLC and lootboxes
I'm probably being baited but I don't know anymore in today's world
Tyically when a big studio is invaded by suits that breath down the designers' and artists' necks to make production run "smoothly" it mwans their games start losing soul and start having some of their best ideas cut because it would prolong development.
I hope there is a zombie dlc again. That was pretty awesome DLC R* did for RDR.
Why must all game universes be invaded by Zombie shit though?
I mean, sure, it can be fun, but jaysis.
marston or not. anything is better than his god awful song
I really don't give two fucks about online mode and its microtransactions. Even then, I still expect the game to be disappointing be wise all sequels to my favorite games have been disappointing to an extent.
meant son
Hope there will be no negroes!
They'll find a way to slip one in the main story
but max payne 3 is still the best third person shooter
just dont play multiplayer like a faggot
microtransactions have been a thing for years, lootboxes are the new cancer
if it is a prequel starring Dutch's gang then a young Marston is pretty much guaranteed
>But RDR2 has been developed very smoothly
We don't know that. All we know is that Leslie Benz saved RDR from development hell and he's been forced out of the company.
RDR 2 is the first game R* has released without him. We might find out the Houser brothers are just egotistical asswipes and Benz was the dude behind the scenes pulling these games together.
>RDR 2 is the first game R* has released without him.
did he have something to do with GTA V?
When GTAV came out, I think it's safe to say that most people were blown away by how good it actually was. Exactly what was to be expected in a GTA game. Insanely high quality, bad-but-good writing, and a really substantial amount of singleplayer content. And then multiplayer was released.
I don't think there's any explanation for what happened to the multiplayer besides unadulterated greed. The heists (one of the main selling-points of the multiplayer) were absolutely atrocious. The grind felt like it'd be more at home in a shitty $15/mo MMORPG. The hackers, and DISCIPLINARY ACTION taken against normal, innocent players. And just thinking about the replacement of singleplayer expansions with multiplayer expansions makes me really sad (I loved the Ballad of Gay Tony).
There are a million other things to complain about with GTAV, and I think that's because it clearly had potential to be a contender for one of the best games of the decade. It's all been tainted by greed. I lost a lot of faith in Rockstar as a developer as a result of GTAV. That being said, I'm undoubtedly going to spend 10's of hours, if not more, in Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm too in love with the first game to even comprehend not giving it a try.
I'm really worried about RDR2. I hope to God it's good, and Rockstar can give me faith again, because they are seriously one of the best developers out there and they can do so, so much.
they dont owe you single player expansions
>this game is going to be Rockstar's best
lel
I refuse to believe that's real. It's just masterfully crafted bait.
>We expect this to have a bigger impact on the industry than titles like Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Bros.
really.
This is the only game I'm looking forward to next year
>after the overwhelming success of GTA V online R* are clearly going to focus their efforts on multiplayer
I know RDR2 was already in development, but it makes me really fear for their future products.
>But RDR2 has been developed very smoothly
"wild west microtransactions, boys?"
"yep"
"super duper"
>they don't owe you a good game for your money
I mean that's technically true I guess
Watch as take 2 ruin this game.
>RDR2 has been developed very smoothly indicating that Rockstar's vision was easy to realize this time around

>be me
>buy red dead redemption 2
>beat the single player
>had to buy some loot crates to get the real ending, whatever
>rockstar finally releases Red Dead Online a week later
>join a server
>takes about 45 minutes to load
>finally get in
>pull out my cell phone to find a job
>get put in a horse race
>i dont even have a horse yet it starts you with a donkey
>fucking lose ofc
>buy a 60$ Cactus Card from the in game store
>get just enough in game money to get a real horse
>call my mechanic to get my horse spawned near me
>ride my horse to Los Santos Customs
>racing saddle is 3 million dollars
>have to buy more Cactus Cards
>get my horse painted with bulletproof tires
>leave Los Santos Customs
>some guy in free roam calls Merryweather on me
>they show up in armored jeeps with assault rifles and kill me and my horse
>forgot to buy horse insurance
He took a sabbatical after development of GTA V finished. When he returned to work he found out his keycode didn't work and had been essentially fired.
How did you get a copy so early?
Do you honestly believe RDR 2 hasn't had troubled development? The employees who work at Rockstar fucking hate it and only do it for experience and resume building.
Pic related, 1/8
Rockstar acts as developer and publisher on their own projects now. Take-Two actually has very little input now. They own Rockstar and the IP they create so obviously any revenue is ultimately going to them but the actual control of the projects is up to Rockstar. Take-Two just sits back and lets the money roll in.
Take two is aids that's for sure

It's factory farming at this point.

Rockstar is especially notorious for mistreating their employees. Work situation in the game industry in general is bad but few are as bad as Rockstar
8/8
I dunno, seems extra bad at Rockstar in comparison to other places. Blizzard got rated one of the best workplaces to work at in America this year, period, and not just in the video games industry.
this is some seriously low quality bait
>L.A. Noire
That was developed by Team Bondi not Rockstar you underage retard.
Because they're popular games. That's it. These are the people that will play it every now and then, with a focus on the multiplayer, and forget it after a month to go back to Call of Duty, Destiny, PUBG, or Fortnite. Keep in mind that Skyrim is another immensely popular game but I would bet that not even half the players fought Alduin or even know who that is.
Seriously, when the fuck did journalism articles turn into blatant press releases. This one's not even fucking hiding it. I hope it's a joke.
>Rockstar games present L.A. Noire
>Not developed by Rockstar
Pick one
Team Bondi only build the base game. Rockstar fixed the mess they had in their hands.
the best rockstar game will be bully 2
I pick both.
They published it and bought the rights when Bondi went under after all that shit that came out about the working conditions and the underperforming initial release. They "present" it because they didn't develop it themselves and the bulk of the work was done by Bondi. The most they did was the PC port and that new VR version. You'd know all this if you had a functioning brain late 2000s early 2010s and didnt get all your information from lazy infographics/timelines.
meh, couldn't care less what they do. RDR 1 was pretty mediocre. I just want another Bully. But I guess rockstar is done making fun lighthearted games.
Shadow of War has SP lootboxes
>tfw its impossible to have a discussion about this game because people only talk about GTA Online and microtransactions
>tfw dont even give a shit about multiplayer
Rockstar Games is no joke nigga
That's why they are the best devs around
What do you want to talk about? They haven't shown the gameplay yet.
For all the "Leslie Benzies is Rockstar's savior" memers, I remind you that he was the mastermind behind GTA Online, whereas the Houser brothers, who are the true good guys, didn't want anything to do with it and wanted to focus more on single player.
That said, Red Dead Online will be good I can guarantee you. Mainly because the setting and theme of the game will put an emphasis on hunting, bounty hunting, robbing, shootouts, etc rather than spending millions on weaponized vehicles and spawn killing players.
Have you not played undead nightmare? its guarantee probably the best zombie game out there to date. Most realistic out of majority of the zombie games currently.
It may be the best game ever created
Why isn't the game designer industry unionised?
They already said that the game is going to be focused around the multiplayer. It's going to be complete garbage. Sorry OP and everyone else, time to move on.
I hope they announce a Switch version. It would be prefect for it, and it would be great to play on the go.
>But RDR2 has been developed very smoothly
What the fuck are you even on about? What do you even know about the development and how long have they worked on it? Stop pulling shit out of your ass cunt.
Too bad you can't kill the fucking mountain lion because your stock weapon is too shit. Time to cash out those 15 dollars and get a proper gun, nigger.
Oh wait, you wanted a farm as well? It's only 20 dollars, with an added 5 dollars for each room you want to customize. Also the stables will be 10 dollars extra.
>Prove me wrong.
Cash cards
Ruined GTAV multiplayer, but generated more than enough profit for Cockstar to be retards not to include again.
I wonder if RD online is going to be the same as GTA online. Where you have to take forever to make money to do any of the fun stuff. Unless of course... you pay with real money to get everything quicker
Take a wild fucking guess, dumb anime poster.
Holy shit people are falling for this. This board really is filled with retards.
Damn
As much as I empathize with the employees, I really would rather not see publishers get an excuse to quadruple the cost of games.
Obviously they don't owe me anything, you fucking retard. That's how a consumer-producer relationship works. However, I'm entitled to my opinions and desires just like you're entitled to sit there and offer absolutely nothing to the world.
I don't trust for a second that Rockstar has the balls to make a serious game that is committed to the period and setting.
GTA V convinced me that they've given that up. It's going to be wacky and goofy "fun", because that's marketable and will keep players coming. From the looks of it, they're literally going to rehash the heists of V in the game too, except this time we'll probably get to play as an entire posse.
