no, room is the best.

because it's better than the other ones

>objectively the worst Team Silent game
>b-but it's the best
Heatherfags should just kill themselves already

Lay off the soy my boy

>SH fans just spend their time arguing about which of their 10/10 A++ games is best

Because my wife is in it

Do you think Heather peed her pants when she was scared haha jk though if she did how would they smell haha

Except it's not, you twat

Convince me why it isn't better than this

>TFW my friend cosplayed heather at a recent con
>some dude took a pic with him
>put his hand on my friends waist
>my friends face went from happy to freaked out
>mfw

Heather is only good for one thing

All of the endings were terrible, especially in comparison to SH2

SH2 is pure vidya kino and there is no argument against it.

>some dude took a pic with him
>him
You have any pics of your friend?

Yeah a couple

only has "him"self to blame, what kinda dude cosplays as a girl even as a joke, come one.

Nigga he does that for shits and giggles. It's just his thing don't question it

Show me

>Playing Silent Hill for the first time a couple days ago
>Defeating final boss
>Demon's screaming fucked with my television's audio
>There's a loud, constant beep sound coming out of the tv
That peculiar scream was atmospheric but man did it fuck with my tv. Luckily the beep sound ended before dialogue played. I wondered at one point that maybe it was caused by some supernatural shit within the game.

>out if 3

The simple concept of a place of security turning against you created the most tense final act in the series; everything in the game world was getting super fucked up, and so you'd go home hoping to take a break only to find blood overflowing from your sink.

It may not objectively be the best, but I found 4 the most horrifying.

Fuck man I would but I don't know a good cheapo image editor to block out the nametag and my friends eyes

Here you go user

thats impressive

Nice try

...

t. person who unironically says 2 is the only good silent hill and the rest are bad because muh cult

You mean like every fanbase with multiple decent installments ever? What a fucking brilliant insight.

what is Silent Hill 2

Also PT is the GOAT

SH2 sucks and PT is retarded and not even Silent Hill.

This may be the worst taste I've encountered of any living human

nice bait

>Better than 2
>Falling for the gril meme

>MUH GUILT AND PENIS ON LEGS LMAO
>MUH LOOK BEHIND YOU JUMPSCARE

Back to plebbit, fags.

3 is the brainlet choice

>Heather has a great personality.
>It has the best graphics and atmosphere, even for its time.
>It doesn't need a pyramid-headed, walking rape metaphor that fans are homosexual for to be considered great
>SH2 is only considered 'great' because it's made for normies that want Pyramid-senpai's great knife sheathed in their buttholes
>Anyone who disagrees with this post is gay and wrong

it's not.
good joke.

fuck off lying fag.

sh1 atmosphere was better.

>trying this hard for attention

fucking faggot

Blatant contranianism

>contranianism
keep telling yourself that, fag.

all of you have trash taste desu
the room and shattered memories are the best.

I did this earlier today and didn't wanna post it on Sup Forums by itself but now is the perfect time to post it

My only complain about SH3 is the length
It's like 5-6 hours long, if it were as long as 1 or 2 it would be the GOAT but i also appreciate it doesn't pad the game like SH4

4 would be the best for sure if it had a more classic gameplay and the enemies were more interesting

I'd have to agree
>had the best camera angles
>grimey aesthetic, silent hill is at its best when it is
>silent hill's 2 hell world was a lot more subdued compared to 1's
>low-poly left a lot to the imagination
>had creepier music because of looping samples and low bitrate audio

Saved.
Here's a neat .gif.

Because it has the least drawbacks.

SH1 has shitty graphics and barely usable controls.
SH2 is the least scary and has terrible boss mechanics.
SH4's entire second half is unfun garbage.
SH:Origins has a shitty title and fucks up the canon.
Homecoming has the same problem, plus the protagonist has bullets for teeth.
Shattered Memories is someone's bad fanfic.
Downpour's Otherworld is just you running away from a scary red light and screaming like a fucking pussy the whole time.

Whereas in SH3, you play as the hot blonde waifu reincarnation of the canon's central character, the visuals are fucking top-notch, and you aren't consistently bogged down by bullshit.

>shitty graphics
Honestly, the PS1 polygons make it look better for a psychological-horror
>barely usable controls
What's wrong with them? Tanks controls with a strafe/side step and if you don't like aiming being mapped to R2, you can change it to R1.

People shit on tank controls but it feels fine, just play for a few hours and you'll get the hang of it. I laugh whenever people complain about it, how is it so hard for people to understand?

>PS1 graphics make it scarier
I've never understood this argument. Do shit textures just look more like spooky faces or something?

It's not hard to understand tank controls, you ape, they're just absolutely trash. Compare them to even SH2's controls and you can see how absolutely abysmal they are.

>play for a few hours and you'll get the hang of it
HMM, controls that make sense right away, or controls that you have to "just get used to"? HMMMMMMMMMM

2 is the normie choice

Jesus fuck it almost makes me wish for a hipster trend claiming tank controls are just better than modern day third person swivel controls.

Twin stick movement wasn't a common thing until ps3's generation. Even when twin stick movement was used on PS2 it didn't really feel good because of low framerates and they just didn't get it right until later.

it helps that ps1 graphics don't look like painted plastic.

Tank controls existed in a time where game developers had to start developing in 3D and had no idea what the fuck they were doing.

Nope, they just look like someone drew a face on pantyhose and stretched it over a box.

your mind fills in the blanks, and there's literally no problem with the controls.
2 has everything that is legitimately interesting about the series. Pure psychological horror, actual symbolism present throughout the game, the cult feels like a waste of time trying to explain silent hill when the most interesting part of silent hill is the actual psychology of it's characters. Also it has the best ost in the series and imo best atmosphere. 3 isn't bad but I just feel like there are certain things it doesn't get right like 2. Also why the fuck does 3 have a mace in the fucking sewers? Fine the katana i can understand even though that's retarded too but why? Also why do you go with Douglas to Silent Hill to meet the guy from the letter and when you get there he's just like, I'll go to the place, you go to the hospital. What?

Uh, Mario 64 and Crash already existed when RE1 and SH1 came out. Tank controls have always been a staple in survival horror games.

Call me autistic but when I play old games I like to imagine myself in the mind of someone playing the game for the first time in that era. The graphics aren't impressive now obviously, but for its time it was. I never understood the "it has shit graphics I can't play it" mentality.

Controls are genuinely fine senpai, pretty much exactly the same across all three games and I wouldn't have it any other way. You're right about the visuals though, regardless of it being a product of its time. But if we were to envision SH1 as being graphically on par with 2 and 3, then I'd say it'd still be better than 2 yet on par with 3. For me 3 is the best because of just how beautiful a sequel it is to the first game, of which I have fond memories. It essentially exists solely to give fans of the original closure, and does it wonderfully. From a design perspective I'd argue 2 makes a mistake with the prison and labyrinth. They're both based on the same idea, yet prison is very short and labyrinth is very long. I feel like they should have just focused on one, namely the prison (represents james' psyche, alludes to the chat he has with maria, etc). Labyrinth feels like a forced 'nowhere' from the original game.

Still better suited for horror than over designed lego people

>Tank controls existed in a time where game developers had ambition to push the boundaries of the industry and inspiration to do different things.
Fixed

>2 has everything that is legitimately interesting about the series.
llmao what a embarrassingly pleb opinion. SH 2 literally has the simplest story out of all the other mainline games, and the most watered down environments compared to 1 and 3 (even purposefully designed to be that way). Saying 2 is the most interesting is a subjective opinion at best, one that you'd have a hard time defending.

Your right it is my opinion, I personally relate to a lot of themes in 2 and I really liked the game. I'm not very interested in any of the cult stuff and for the most part any mention of the cult is absent, I'm glad it doesn't bother you, honestly wish i liked the rest of the games more, I beat 1-3, shattered memories, and I'm currently going through downpour, so after slogging through all the shit I'm gonna go back and play 1 and see if I can get into cult shit.

>2 has everything that is legitimately interesting about the series.

It lacks everything interesting about the series. The lore, the background story, the weirdness, it lacks all that, it even lacks a proper otherworld outside of the historical society part.

What does this even mean? Just admit to yourself that the game looks atrocious, and move on.

>"It's scary if you use your imagination!"
Motherfucker, I'm playing a video game so I don't HAVE to use my imagination.

What an absolutely travesty of an attempt to defend shitty controls. If it pushed the boundaries so much, why don't games still use them?

>Motherfucker, I'm playing a video game so I don't HAVE to use my imagination.

Most of Silent Hill is left to your imagination retard.

>Motherfucker, I'm playing a video game so I don't HAVE to use my imagination.

Your brain does the work for you.

It's one of the best looking PS1 games and it nails down the PS1 aesthetic perfectly.

Wow can you even read? We're not talking about facts within the canon, you embarrassing brainlet, we're talking about having to imagine something as scary versus it actually being that way.

And most of Silent hill is not "left to your imagination"; there are enough facts in game to infer a consistent canon, if you're not a complete idiot.

Having "the PSX aesthetic" doesn't mean it doesn't have the worst graphic quality in the series.

You're a retard. No shit the game doesn't have the same graphic fidelity as later games on much more powerful consoles. It still looks great for the time. What is your point?

The point is that it has the worst graphic quality in the series. I'm not saying the graphics are irredeemable shit, just that they're objectively the worst.

How about detaching yourself from "le ebin nostalgia" and grounding yourself in reality before attempting to contribute to a conversation?

i have no nostalgic attachment to silent hill 1, so I repeat what is the relevancy of pointing out the obvious fact that the graphics are inferior. I agree with his opinion that it's one of the more technically impressive psx games, I just don't understand what your point is.

>PSX
Huh. Didn't know the 10th PlayStation was already out.

Because when it comes to why a game is not the best one in the series, unfortunately, bad graphics is a contributing factor. Trying to spin it as "it's looks good for the console it's on" is a copout.

I enjoyed SH1 because I was able to OVERLOOK the bad graphics. Better?

it is better in fact, I couldn't understand what your opinion on the game was, you just said that the graphics weren't as good, now i know that you meant that the graphics being inferior detracts from it's quality. I can agree to an extent. For example I think sh1's visuals are many times better than downpour. Downpour technically has better graphics but it doesn't look any where near as good imo, and I honestly doubt many people with actual taste would refute that.

SH1 > All.

-The biggest, best town design
-Best pacing of all of the games
-Actually capable and dangerous enemies
-Decently head-scratching puzzles
-A lot of replay value
-Good plot with lots of depth if you dig deeper
-Spooky as fuck
